What is one of the most amazing facts about the human body
We have two eyes and two ears, two nostrils each, four limbs, four limbs and a penis. That's right, we have more than 50 parts of our bodies, but one thing is missing. A heart.
A heart is a pump, which circulates blood throughout our bodies. The blood travels through the veins and arteries, transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells. It also removes carbon dioxide.
The heart pumps about 5 liters blood per minute. This amount is equivalent to an adult drinking 2-3 cups of coffee daily.
The blood flows throughout the heart 24/7, 365 days a calendar. While you sleep, your heart beats almost 100 times per minute.
You can tell whether someone is healthy or unhealthy because of the color of their skin. If you examine the skin closely, you will see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These small vessels carry blood away from the large blood vessels in the skin back to the heart. If blood flow is blocked, skin can turn blue or purple.
People with sickle cells lack red blood cell. Their blood becomes sticky and hardens, causing them to become very ill.
To stop bleeding from a cut, you can apply a bandage to the wound. For the wound to heal properly, blood must continue to flow. Doctors place a needle in the wound and insert it through the skin. This allows the blood from the injured area to drain.
A doctor can also insert tubes (catheters), into an artery in the vicinity of where blood clots form. This keeps the patient alive till the blood clot dissolves naturally.

What is the most secretive town in the world?
This question might surprise you. This may make you feel uncomfortable as it challenges your perception of reality and the way we live. However, there's a reason for this place to exist. It's not what we would expect.
The City of God was its name by the ancient Greeks. It was called the City of Destruction by the Bible.
It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). It's also known as Novgorod in Russia.
It's called The Town That Has Disappeared here in America.
A small community of 1200 people in western New York State vanished. It was abandoned without any remains, including no bodies, cars, or houses. The only thing that survived was a road sign, which pointed to its former location.
The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some claim the earth swallowed it. Some claim it was destroyed by a meteorite impact. Others believe that aliens took it.
The people of this once-thriving community, however, are positive that the town won't disappear forever. They had just moved from one town to the other.
Even a website exists to help track down the disappearances of the lost city Zugspitz.
So where is this town? It's in Switzerland.
Zugspitze lies on the border between Austria and Germany. Lake Zugspitze can be found just beyond the summit.
It's always fascinated me how so many towns disappear, yet others remain. What is the difference between some towns that disappear and others that survive? I decided to investigate.
I wanted more information about the mysterious disappearing of towns. Is it possible for a place to vanish? How can one place vanish from existence?
There are several theories behind the disappearing of towns. One theory says that a town disappears when all the buildings are demolished. Another theory says that the town just moves. A third theory states that the town didn't exist at all.
Although theories may be a bit speculative, it is a fact that numerous towns have been destroyed by the elements. This video examines both the history and current status.
Have you ever wondered how much trash is produced worldwide each day?
According to the United Nations the average person creates more than 2.5 lbs of waste daily. That adds up over 25 billion kilos of garbage every year.
Most of the trash ends up at incinerators and landfills. But, what happens to those dumpsters? Most of that trash is shipped out of the country. The rest is dumped abroad, where it pollutes other ecosystems. Now, we know the exact location of all this garbage. Mike Sexton is his name. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.
Sexton says he finds his job very satisfying. "We've got a lot of fun," he told CNN. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton began following truck drivers almost 20 years ago.
He said, "I fell in love with it."
Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. Sexton recalls, "The guy was searching for somewhere to put his loads." "He saw the building as he drove down the road. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two large roll-off containers full of stuff. The man got everything out of the truck and began filling it up again. "Then, he took everything out and started filling up the truck again. There were a bunch of old tires, rags, furniture, mattresses, boxes, bottles, cans, and whatever else. "It was just a total mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There was not a single piece of trash.
What is the explanation? This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.
It can happen hundreds of thousands of times per week. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. The owner finally decides to stop using the truck.
Trash isn’t the only problem we face on the planet.
The majority of these particles are made of small pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in rivers or oceans.
Experts warn that if there is no change, the world could soon be facing a food shortage. Experts warn that if we continue to go the same way, we won't make it. However, scientists and most people aren't worried.
