How does your brain control the functions within your body?

The brain relays messages to other parts of the body to ensure their functionality. The brain controls everything that happens in your body. It tells your stomach to digest food and your lungs to breathe air; it tells your arms and legs to move.

Your brain is composed of billions and billions nerve cells, connected in groups called neurons. Action potentials, which are electrical signals sent by neurons to each other via axons, allow them to communicate with one another. Every neuron has an outer cell membrane that surrounds its nucleus. Channels within the membrane allow ions such potassium and sodium to enter and leave the cells. Ion movement creates the electric charge that causes the neuron to fire.

When a neuron is activated, neurotransmitters release chemicals into the space between it and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters can bind to receptors at the second neuron. They open ions channels, allowing ions to move in and outside of the channel. This causes the second neuron to fire too.

When a presynaptic nerve receives an impulse, neurotransmitter release takes place. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds at the receptors of the post-synaptic Neuron and triggers its firing.

Communication within the nervous system is possible thanks to neurotransmitters. They are also responsible for coordinating activity between various parts of the brain.

Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?

According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!

Most of this rubbish ends up in landfills or incinerators. But, what happens when those dumpsters fill up? It goes to the United States, where most of it is exported. It is then shipped out and dumped in other countries. This pollutes the ecosystems. But now we know, thanks to one man. Mike Sexton is his name. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back to us on what happens next.

Sexton says he finds his job very satisfying. CNN interviewed Sexton and said that he has a lot of fun. "We see these big trucks coming through town, so we'll keep following them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.

He said, "I fell in love with it."

His favorite story is about a driver that pulled into an abandoned gas station just outside Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove down the road to see this building. He stopped and pulled up, then he went inside. "There were 2 large containers that had been rolled off, and they were full of stuff. The man took all the stuff out and filled up his truck with more. "Then he looked at the place and decided to unload everything. There were old tires and rags, furniture pieces, mattresses, mattresses and boxes. "It was just an absolute mess. But it had been cleaned before he arrived. There wasn't any trash anywhere."

What is the explanation? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.

This could happen hundreds of time per week. The truck can be stopped running if it is so full of junk that it has to come back hundreds of times per week. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.

But, this isn't the only problem that our planet is facing.

Plastic pieces make up most of these particles. Some are washed into rivers and oceans. Others end up with fish in their stomachs.

Experts warn us that we may soon face an international food shortage if things don't change. Experts warn that "if we keep going the way we are, we're not going make it," although scientists agree that the world is heading toward disaster. Most people, however, don't seem to be concerned.

What is the most secretive place in the world, and why?

You might be surprised at the answer. This may make you feel uncomfortable as it challenges your perception of reality and the way we live. But there is a reason that this place exists. It isn't what you would expect.

It was known as the City of God to the ancient Greeks. According to the Bible, it was called the City of Destruction.

It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). It's also known as Novgorod in Russia.

But here in America, it goes by another name - The Town That Disappeared.

A small town in western New York State, with a population of 1,200, vanished without a trace. It was abandoned without any remains, including no bodies, cars, or houses. The only thing that survived was a road sign, which pointed to its former location.

This little community vanished and no trace remains to indicate where or when it disappeared. Some say the earth swallowed it up. Others claim that a meteorite hit destroyed it. Others believe that aliens took it.

The residents of this once prosperous community believe that whatever happened, their town is not gone forever. They just moved to another city.

A website is available to track the disappearance and recovery of Zugspitz, which was lost in the Great Depression.

So where is this town? It's in Switzerland.

Zugspitze lies on the border between Austria and Germany. Just beyond the summit of the mountain is a huge lake called Lake Zugspitze.

It has always fascinated and astonished me to see how many towns have vanished but still exist. Why does some vanish while others remain? I set out to find out.

I wanted to know more about the mysterious disappearing towns. Is it possible for a place to vanish? How can one place vanish from existence?

There are several theories behind the disappearing of towns. One theory is that a city disappears after all buildings have been demolished. Another theory says that the town just moves. The third theory is that the town was never actually there.

The fact is that hundreds of towns all over the world have been swept away by the ground, despite theories to the contrary. This video looks into the history of those places and investigates their current status.
