FAQ

What is the most mysterious area on earth?

Antarctica is the world's most mysterious place on Earth.

We find this place so fascinating. Because it is unlike anything else on Earth.

It is very remote and isolated. This site has more to it than meets your eye.

You'll also find the strangest species of wildlife in this natural wonder.

Let's now see how this amazing destination came to be so well-known for its mystery.

Antarctica: The South Pole

Antarctica is named for no one. Some believe it means "land of ice." Others believe it derives from Greek mythology.

Antarktis is the name Antarktis was given to an island in ancient Greece by Zeus' twin brothers. According to one source, one of the twins was conceived in winter. Hence, the word antarctic.

Others believe that it is the Greek word anti, which means against, and tropos, which refers to turning. This would signify land turned away the sun.

No matter the reason, Antarctica is a place that has always fascinated people.

It is the driest, windiest of all continents. Because it is so cold, there aren't any trees, plants or animals.

And yet, this frozen wasteland is teeming with life.

It is home to approximately 90 percent of all life on Earth. About 50% of the world's plant and animal species can be found here.

What is Antarctica? Here, water freezes into ice instead of evaporating into the air.

This causes large amounts of ice to float above ground.

These floating glaciers make up 80%. And they're growing larger every year.

The Antarctic Ice Sheet has grown 60 feet in the past 60 years.

If the melting continues, the sea level will rise by up to 200 feet. It could result in massive flooding all over the world.

This does not mean that everyone is wrong. Global warming may be beneficial for some scientists. They claim that the melting of ice sheets could accelerate as temperatures rise. This would lead to flooding that removes tons of toxic chemicals and soil from our bodies.

Others, however, warn that this theory sounds almost like a plot for a science fiction film.

Have you ever wondered how much trash is produced worldwide each day?

The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!

Many of this trash ends in landfill dumps, or incinerators. But what happens if those dumpsters are full? Where does all that rubbish go?Well, most of it gets shipped out of the country. It then gets dumped in foreign countries, polluting their ecosystems. However, now we know where all that trash goes. His name is Mike Sexton. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.

Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. "We've got a lot of fun," he told CNN. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton began following truckers almost 20 year ago.

He said, "I fell in love with it."

Sexton loved the story about the driver who pulled over at an abandoned gas station close to Los Angeles. Sexton described, "The guy was looking somewhere to put his load." "He drove along the road and saw this structure. So he pulled over and went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. He took out everything and began to fill up the truck. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was a complete mess. It had been cleaned up before he arrived. There wasn’t trash everywhere."

This is the reason why it happened. This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that people would bring home their household items, and then take them to the building. After they were done, they would dispose of the empty containers.

This can happen hundreds of times a week. This could happen hundreds times per week. Finally, the truck stops running completely due to its excessive junk. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.

Trash, however, isn't the only problem facing our planet. As you may have noticed, things are getting worse.According to experts, pollution levels have risen dramatically in recent years.More than half of all water bodies on Earth are polluted.Pollution from industrial chemicals has increased by more than 30 percent since 1980.Even the air we breathe is becoming increasingly toxic.A study by the World Health Organization found that the average person inhales around 100 million particles daily.

These tiny plastic particles make up the majority of the particles. Some end up in incinerators or landfills. Others get washed into rivers or oceans. And when they reach the ocean, they often end up in the stomachs of fish.

Experts warn us that we may soon face an international food shortage if things don't change. Experts warn, "If you keep going like you're going," we could soon face a global food shortage. But most people don't seem to be worried, even though scientists are unanimous in warning us that the world is heading towards disaster.

What is your most secretive community?

The answer may shock you. You might be uncomfortable with the truth of it, as it may challenge your perception of reality. However, there's a reason for this place to exist. It's not what we would expect.

It was called the City of God by ancient Greeks. It was also called the City of Destruction in the Bible.

It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). It is called Novgorod (Russia).

But here in America, it goes by another name - The Town That Disappeared.

One small community in western New York State with 1,200 residents vanished without a trace. There were no bodies, cars or houses left behind, but a road sign that pointed to the former location was all that was left.

This little community vanished and no trace remains to indicate where or when it disappeared. Some claim the earth swallowed it. Others claim that a meteorite hit destroyed it. Some claim that it was destroyed by a meteorite strike. Others still believe it was stolen away by aliens.

The people of this once-thriving community, however, are positive that the town won't disappear forever. They had just moved to a new town.

You can even track the disappearance of Zugspitz on a dedicated website.

You might be wondering where this town went. It's actually in Switzerland!

Zugspitze lies on the border between Austria and Germany. The lake Lake Zugspitze is just beyond the mountain's summit.

It has always fascinated my that so many towns have disappeared but others still exist. What is the difference between some towns that disappear and others that survive? I decided to investigate.

I was curious about the disappearing towns. What causes a town to disappear? How can one place become extinct?

There are many theories to explain the phenomenon of disappearing towns. One theory holds that a town disappears if all its buildings are demolished. Another theory states that the town simply moves to another location. A third theory claims that the town never existed at all.

There are many theories, but the truth is that thousands of towns around the world have been submerged by the earth. This video examines both the history and current status.

How To

Hollywood scandals that stunned the entire world

There's nothing more shocking than watching someone become famous for the wrong reasons. There's nothing more shocking than watching someone fall from grace.

The best part is seeing how an industry reacts to its mistakes. Many celebrities have used alcohol and drugs in excess. Some even died young because of it.

The worst part about this is that these same stars come out with their problems and are ridiculed by everyone. That's where we found ourselves last week.

Heath Ledger died after a long, successful career. He took too many prescription pills and died shortly after.

His family and his friends struggled with the news and the media went after him.

Heath was once considered one of the most talented actors working today. He was nominated for two Academy Awards for his performance in Brokeback Mountain.

In addition to acting, Heath also wrote and directed films, including A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, and Iron Man 3.

Hollywood loved Heath, however he soon grew too big for his good looks. He started taking drugs and drinking heavily. He finally went to rehab, and he was clean.

Now that he was sober, it was time to make amends. So he made a documentary called "Room 237," which chronicled the making of The Shining. The film was originally supposed to be released in this year's theaters, but it will not make its way into the cinemas until next year.

Every time Heath tried to get back into Hollywood, something happened. In fact, he was actually twice arrested for drug-related charges.

Although we don't think Heath should be allowed to return to the showbiz, However, it would have been nice if he could have gotten some help before things spiraled out of control.

We hope Heath's story will serve as a warning to others who may think they can still have everything.
