"I just fell in love with it," he said.
He loved the story of the driver who pulled into an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton described, "The guy was looking somewhere to put his load." "He drove down the road and saw this building. So he backed up and went inside. "There were 2 large containers that had been rolled off, and they were full of stuff. The man took all the stuff out and filled up his truck with more. "Then, he took everything out and started filling up the truck again. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just a total mess. But it had been cleaned out before he came along. There was not a single piece of trash.
This is the reason why it happened. The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained.And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.
Now, because of the way the law works, once a container reaches its destination, it cannot be opened.So no matter how often someone takes something out of it, the thing will never be emptied.Every time the truck comes by, it has to start over again. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.
