The Explorers Club is an international professional organization that encourages scientific exploration. It was founded in 1904, by seven of the world's most famous polar explorers. The Explorers Journal's first edition was published in November 1921 by the club. It is still published quarterly today.
The Explorers Club is home to some of the most important and well-known explorers of all time. Buzz Aldrin is among them. Members also contribute to the club's journal, the Explorers Journal, which contains first-hand reporting from those who are pushing the boundaries of knowledge and human endurance.
The club's headquarters is located on East 70th Street in Manhattan, in a Jacobean Revival mansion. The building was once the home of Stephen Clark, the heir of the Singer Sewing Machine fortune.
The Explorers Club currently has over 3,000 members. Members can apply for membership by submitting a brief description of their planned expedition. However, there is no formal procedure. You can be accepted into club if a member recommends you.

The Explorers Club was established in New York City on September 4, 1904. It's a nonprofit, 501 (c)3 organization. The thrill of exploring unknown areas around the globe has inspired thousands of scientists and adventurers, including astronauts. The club is comprised of 26 chapters located across the United States and awards grants to support field science.
When visiting the Explorers Club, you'll find an impressive collection of artifacts and historical treasures. Some of these objects include indigenous totems from New Guinea and a sledge used by Peary and Henson in their 1909 expedition to the North Pole. A stuffed polar Bear is displayed on the club's Museum's Staircase. Highlights include the bell that was rung by the ship that rescued Greely’s team from Arctic Ocean in 1884.
There are also details on upcoming events and tours on the club's site. For instance, you can participate in a personal tour of the city, or learn about the origins of the club's flag.
Enjoy a range of exotic cuisines at an annual dinner. A $25 public lecture is also available. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the Explorers Club's past and hear from its current members.
Despite being relatively small, the Explorers Club has made quite a name. Its members have traveled to many destinations, including the Amazon, the Arctic and the deepest parts of the ocean. They were also awarded with various field science grants, and they are honored at The Explorers Club's Presidents Award for Exploration.

Many firsts have been made over the club's century-long existence. An Explorers Club flag was carried to the moon. It is the deepest point of the earth and the highest point in all of human history.
The club is known for its lavish annual dinner party. Exotic foods such as mammoth meat, strawberries with insects and strawberries are available for guests to enjoy. Visit the club's library to find out more about the life and times of Explorers.
FAQ
What is the most secretive location in the entire world?
This question might surprise you. It might even make you uncomfortable because it challenges our perception of reality and how we live. There is a reason this place exists and it's not as you might expect.
It was known as the City of God to the ancient Greeks. It was also known as the City of Destruction according to the Bible.
It is also called Kashi in India (Kashmir). It is also called Novgorod in Russia.
But here in America, it goes by another name - The Town That Disappeared.
One small community in western New York State with 1,200 residents vanished without a trace. It was abandoned without any remains, including no bodies, cars, or houses. The only thing that survived was a road sign, which pointed to its former location.
The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some believe it was swallowed by the earth. Others claim a meteorite strike destroyed it. Others believe that aliens took it.
Despite what may have happened, the people who lived in this once-thriving area are confident that their town will not be lost forever. They had just relocated to another town.
There's even a website that tracks the disappearances and recoveries of Zugspitz.
The question is, where did this place go? It's in Switzerland.
You can find Zugspitze at the border of Austria and Germany. Just beyond the summit of the mountain is a huge lake called Lake Zugspitze.
It's always fascinated me how so many towns disappear, yet others remain. Is it possible that some towns disappear and others are preserved? I decided to investigate.
I wanted to know more about the mysterious disappearing towns. What makes a town disappear? How can one place vanish from existence?
There are many theories regarding the phenomenon of towns disappearing. One theory states that a town vanishes when all its buildings are destroyed. Another theory holds that the town simply relocates to another location. A third theory holds that the town did not exist.
There are many theories, but the truth is that thousands of towns around the world have been submerged by the earth. This video examines the history and current status of these places.
How does your brain control the functions within your body?
To ensure that other organs and muscle functions work together, the brain sends messages. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells both your stomach and lungs what to do; it also controls your legs and arms.
Your brain is made up of billions upon billions of nerve cells that are connected together in groups called neuronal groups. Neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals called action potentials on axons. Every neuron has an outer cell membrane that surrounds its nucleus. The cell membrane houses channels that allow ions, such as potassium and sodium, to enter and exit the cells. The neuron is lit by an electric charge created by the movement of ions.
Neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that release neurotransmitters when a neuron fires up, can be found in the space between the neurons and the next one. Neurotransmitters attach to the receptors of the second neuron and open ions channels for ions to pass in and out. The second neuron also fires.
When a presynaptic nerve receives an impulse, neurotransmitter release takes place. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds at the receptors of the post-synaptic Neuron and triggers its firing.
They are vital for the communication between nerve cells. They coordinate brain activity among different parts.
What is the reason actors are blacklisted?
Actors are more likely to be rejected than writers. If you're an actor, you'll probably get rejected a lot. It doesn't matter if you get rejected a lot because eventually you'll meet someone you love.
Actors are typically very talented and can earn a living virtually anywhere. But most actors don't want to make a lot of money. Actors love acting and storytelling. You'll be an actor if you love acting.
Sometimes, auditions are cancelled because you are either too young or too old for the job. Sometimes, you may lose an audition for a movie. This happens all the time.
But once you've been cast, you may also face criticism. People may tell you that your makeup looks terrible and you shouldn't use it. If you're lucky, you won't even hear negative comments.
Sometimes, you might be criticised for playing a role that isn’t authentic or realistic. You could be a gay actor and everyone assumes you are straight. Perhaps you play a woman that is supposed to be strong but who cries a lot.
Sometimes, they ask you to change your voice. Sometimes they ask you to sound like either a boy or a girl. They want you to sound better most of the time.
The best way to deal with these criticisms is to ignore them. Actors sometimes feel like failures when they hear they were wrong. However, they aren't doing anything wrong.
They were not born with the talent that would make them famous. And sometimes, no matter how hard they try, they don't fit the bill.
Blacklisting an actor could be for many reasons. Some people don't like actors. Some people think actors are lazy. Others believe actors cheat.
It doesn't matter what reason it may be, you won’t be banned if you keep trying. There are plenty of roles out there, and you'll find them.
You'll succeed as long as you keep trying.
Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?
The United Nations estimates that the average person generates more than 2.5 pounds of waste each day. This adds up to over 25 million pounds of garbage annually!
Many of this trash ends in landfill dumps, or incinerators. But what happens if those dumpsters are full? Where does all that rubbish go?Well, most of it gets shipped out of the country. It then gets dumped in foreign countries, polluting their ecosystems. However, now we know where all that trash goes. Mike Sexton is his real name. He is the owner of Waste Watchers. His job involves monitoring the movements and routes of trash trucks across North America. He reports back to us about the next steps.
Sexton says he finds his job very satisfying. CNN's Sexton said, "We have a lot to enjoy." "We see these big trucks coming through town, so we'll keep following them. "Sexton began following truck drivers almost 20 years ago.
"It's all I felt," he stated.
He loved the story of the driver who pulled into an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton said that the man was searching for a place to store his stuff. "He drove down the road to see this building. So he pulled over and went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. The man got everything out of the truck and began filling it up again. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were old tires and rags, furniture pieces, mattresses, mattresses and boxes. It was a complete mess. But it was cleaned out before he came. There was not a single piece of trash.
Why did this happen? It's because this area used to be a recycle center. People would drive from all over the country to recycle their trash. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.
This could happen hundreds of time per week. The truck can be stopped running if it is so full of junk that it has to come back hundreds of times per week. The owner eventually decides to dump the truck.
However, trash is not the only problem on our planet.
Plastic pieces make up most of these particles. Others end up in rivers, oceans or the stomachss of fish.
Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. "If we keep going like we're going, we're not going to make it," one expert warned. But even though scientists agree that the world is headed toward disaster, most people don't seem worried.

How To
Hollywood scandals that shocked all of the world
Nothing is more shocking than seeing someone famous for wrong reasons. It's even more frightening to see them fall from grace.
It's fascinating to see how industries react to their mistakes. We've all heard about celebrities who took too much alcohol and drugs. Some even died young because of it.
The worst part about this is that these same stars come out with their problems and are ridiculed by everyone. We found ourselves in that situation last week.
Heath Ledger lost his long and successful career. He died after succumbing to prescription drugs.
His family and friends were unable to accept his death, and the media was quick to criticize him.
Heath was once regarded as one of the best actors today. He was nominated for two Academy Awards for his performance in Brokeback Mountain.
In addition to acting, Heath also wrote and directed films, including A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, and Iron Man 3.
Hollywood loved Heath. However, he quickly grew too large. He started to use drugs and drink heavily. He ended up in rehab and became clean.
He wanted to make amends now that he was sober. He created a documentary called Room 237, which documented the making of The Shining. It was supposed that it would be released this year but it won't make its debut in theaters until next.
Heath was unsuccessful in his attempts to get back into Hollywood. In fact, Heath was twice arrested on drug charges.
Although we don't think Heath should be allowed to return to the showbiz, It would have been nice, however, if he had received some help before things got out of control.
We hope Heath’s story serves as a cautionary tale for others who think they might still be able to have it all.
