The current director of the United States Secret Service, James Murray, will leave his position after 30 years on the force. A source claims that he will join Snap Inc. and report directly at its CEO Evan Spiegel.
Murray worked as an investigator and special agent over his 27-year career. He was also a deputy director of protective operations and a director. He was the 26th director in the Secret Service. He will retire July 30, 2022.
Murray worked with the Secret Service to plan and coordinate the global protective mission of the agency, which included the investigation of threats to presidential candidates, and the transitions. Murray was also responsible for the Secret Service’s investigation into financial crimes and its response to COVID-19.
