Strange and Weird Human Facts

true horror facts

Amongst the many strange aspects of our bodies, some are downright spooky. Let's take a look at some of these more obscure and interesting functions.

The heart can beat 100,000 times per hour. This might not seem like much, but consider this: if your heart stopped beating every second for a day, you would die. You can also see blood squirting 30 feet away.

The human eye contains more than five hundred million pixels. That's more than half a million times bigger than the average cell phone. Because of the cilia which attach to the eyeballs, the human eye can grow as large and as long as a football.

The light produced by the human eye can also illuminate small rooms. There are about 100,000 miles of blood vessels throughout the human body. These arteries transport oxygen from the blood to the tissues.

Another system, the "diving instinct", shuts down certain bodily processes when we are submerged. When we see something beautiful, our pupil expands 45%.

Our appendix is also present. If left untreated, this organ can become infected. In fact, you can remove as much of your liver as you like.

The human body has many wonders. It's enough fat for seven bars of soap. It's also home for hundreds of thousands of bacteria. The skin, the largest organ in our bodies, is oily, greasy, and home to over a thousand species of bacteria.

The human body has the ability to perform many strange and mundane tasks. We blink 10 million times per year, but also do the uncanny. There's also a lot of stuff going on in the mouth. In addition to the obvious functions mentioned above, your mouth also has other functions such as swallowing and breathing.

The toilet is also there. It is the largest and most important component of the bathroom. The toilet also serves as the main source for reading material in a home. The average person drinks 20,000 gallons of water during their lifetime.

scary facts about life

Apart from obvious reasons, the human body has a "sneezing” function. Over-sneezing can cause a fracture of a rib. The human nose is also home to more than 8,000 taste buds. A total of more than 100 cells are located in the tongue and are responsible for tasting food.

The human brain generates more energy than it takes to light a bulb. The human body can produce 350,000 joules per hour, even if you do not include the ovaries. This is enough to make a lightbulb blink.

Another interesting fact about our human bodies is our "diving reflex", our largest organ, our eyes, and our ability to fly. Our roads are also home to more cars than we have people. But there are more sea crayfish than humans so it's safe say that the human body has more power than most people realize.

FAQ

How does the brain control the functions of your body?

The brain communicates with other organs to ensure their cooperation. The brain controls everything that happens in your body. It tells your stomach how to digest food and your lungs how to inhale oxygen; it also tells your arms, legs and feet to move.

Your brain is made of billions, or neurons, of nerve cells. Neurons communicate by sending electrical signals, called action potentials, on axons. Every neuron has an outer cell membrane that surrounds its nucleus. There are channels within the membrane that allow ions such a sodium or potassium to enter and exit the cell. The neuron fires when there is ion movement.

Neurotransmitters are chemicals released when a neuron fires. Neurotransmitters bind to receptors on the second neuron, opening ion channels so ions can pass in and out of the channel. As a result, second neuron fires as well.

Neurotransmitter releases occur when a presynaptic neurons receives an input from another neuron. The impulse travels along the synapse connecting the two neurons. The transmitter binds with the receptors of the postsynaptic nerve, activating the firing of the postsynaptic neurons.

For communication within the nervous systems, neurotransmitters are essential. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.

Is there an Hollywood blacklist?

There is a Hollywood blacklist.

The list isn’t available for public viewing. The names are not known to us. But here's why it matters.

The secret reason is that directors and actors who are on the blacklist would not be able to find employment. So they'd go out of business, which means that the studios would lose money. That would result in a reduction in spending on movies. This would lead to fewer opportunities and less money for blacklisted directors. They would then go bankrupt.

This could lead to more victims.

When someone tries making an Oscar winning movie they might be asked for a contract. This means that they can't publicly criticize their employer. This applies to any producer or director who wishes to be nominated.

That's why you hear stories about how producers pressure directors to remove scenes from their films. Directors may threaten to quit projects that don’t align with their vision.

This is why there is a Hollywood blacklist. If you make negative comments about your employer, it's likely that you will be unemployed. It's not good for anyone.

It is not uncommon for people to be falsely accused. And they've had to fight to clear their name.

This must be stopped before it happens again. Everybody should be able to freely express themselves.

So we need to take down the Hollywood blacklist.

Do you wonder how much trash is produced each day across the globe?

According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!

Most of the trash ends up at incinerators and landfills. But, what happens to those dumpsters? Where does all that rubbish go?Well, most of it gets shipped out of the country. It is then dumped in other countries, where it pollutes their ecosystems. But now, thanks to the work of one man, we know exactly where all this trash goes. Mike Sexton is his real name. He is the founder of Waste Watchers. He watches over trucks that transport trash across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.

Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton began following truck drivers almost 20 years ago.

"It's all I felt," he stated.

Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove down the road and saw this building. He stopped and pulled up, then he went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. The guy took everything out and started filling up the truck again. "Then he looked at the place and decided to unload everything. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. "It was just total chaos. But it was cleaned out before he came. There wasn't any trash anywhere."

This is the reason why it happened. It is because the location used to belong to a recycling centre. People who found out about this facility would drive to it to recycle their trash. Sexton explained, "They would bring their household goods and take them here," and they would then empty the containers.

This could happen hundreds of time per week. It could happen hundreds of thousands of times a week. The truck eventually stops running because it has become so jammed with junk. The owner eventually decides to dump the truck.

Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.

The majority of these particles are made of small pieces of plastic. Some are washed into rivers and oceans. Others end up with fish in their stomachs.

Experts warn that if there is no change, the world could soon be facing a food shortage. Experts warn, "If you keep going like you're going," we could soon face a global food shortage. But most people don't seem to be worried, even though scientists are unanimous in warning us that the world is heading towards disaster.

What is the most secretive town in the world?

This question might surprise you. It could even make you uncomfortable, because it challenges how reality is perceived and lived. But there is an explanation for why this place exists, and it's not what you would expect.

The ancient Greeks called it the City of God. It was called the City of Destruction by the Bible.

It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). It is also called Novgorod in Russia.

However, in America it is called The Town that Disappeared.

One small community in western New York State with 1,200 residents vanished without a trace. With the exception of a road marker pointing to its former site, there were no remains: cars, bodies, houses.

This little community vanished and no trace remains to indicate where or when it disappeared. Some say it was swallowed up by the Earth. Others believe it was destroyed by a meteorite. Some claim that it was destroyed by a meteorite strike. Others still believe it was stolen away by aliens.

Regardless of what happened, residents of this once-thriving town are certain that their town won't be forgotten forever. They had just moved to another town.

A website is available to track the disappearance and recovery of Zugspitz, which was lost in the Great Depression.

So where is this town? Well, it's in Switzerland!

The border of Austria and Germany is at Zugspitze. Lake Zugspitze lies just above the summit of the mountain.

It has always fascinated and astonished me to see how many towns have vanished but still exist. Why is it that some disappear while others live on? I decided to investigate.

I was interested in learning more about these mysterious towns that are disappearing. What makes a town disappear? How can one place vanish from existence?

There are many theories regarding the phenomenon of towns disappearing. One theory says that a town disappears when all the buildings are demolished. Another theory is that the town moves to another place. Another theory suggests that the town has never existed.

No matter what theories you may have, there is no doubt that many towns across the globe were swallowed by the ground. This video explores the history of these towns and examines their current state.
