FAQ

What dark secrets can Hollywood keep from you?

Hollywood is full of secret societies. Some are cult-like groups where members follow strict rules and rituals, while others are simply clubs for those who share common interests.

There are other nefarious entities that have a significant influence on the industry. There are companies like the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), who sets film ratings and the RIAA, which sets music licensing fees.

Many unions and guilds represent actors, directors writers, producers, and others. Many of the major TV networks and movie studios are owned or controlled by large corporations.

It is obvious that, no matter how secretive or obtuse a group appears, someone knows exactly what they do. But that doesn't mean we should fear them.

Instead, we should embrace these facts. Because they offer us information that can help us make better decision.

These experts tell us which movies are most likely to succeed, which songs will be in demand, and what books will sell the best.

They allow us to make informed decisions about what we buy, watch and listen to.

We can trust them so we can ignore their advice when it doesn't suit our taste.

And because we've chosen to ignore them, they become even more powerful. They become the ultimate arbiters for taste.

If you don't like their words, you can choose to ignore them.

Let's take a closer look at some of the less-known, yet still very real Hollywood secret clubs.

You can see why they are so vital.

How does the brain regulate the functions of the body?

To ensure that they work together, messages are sent by the brain to other organs. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells your stomach how to digest food and your lungs how to inhale oxygen; it also tells your arms, legs and feet to move.

Your brain consists of billions of nerve cells connected in groups called neurons. Neurons communicate by sending electrical signals, called action potentials, on axons. Each neuron has a cell membrane surrounding its nucleus. Channels within the membrane allow ions such potassium and sodium to enter and leave the cells. The electric charge that causes the neuron's fire is created by ion movement.

When a neuron fires, chemicals called neurotransmitters are released into the space between the neuron and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters bind to receptors on the second neuron, opening ion channels so ions can pass in and out of the channel. The second neuron also fires.

Neurotransmitter release occurs when the presynaptic neuron receives an impulse from another neuron. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds to receptors on the postsynaptic neuron, triggering the firing of the postsynaptic neuron.

For communication within the nervous systems, neurotransmitters are essential. They are also responsible for coordinating activity between various parts of the brain.

Do you wonder how much trash is produced each day across the globe?

According to the United Nations the average person creates more than 2.5 lbs of waste daily. That adds up over 25 billion kilos of garbage every year.

The majority of this garbage ends up in incinerators or landfills. But what happens when the dumpsters become full? All that trash ends up being shipped out of country. The rest is dumped abroad, where it pollutes other ecosystems. Now, we know the exact location of all this garbage. Mike Sexton is his real name. He is the owner of Waste Watchers. His job involves monitoring the movements and routes of trash trucks across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.

Sexton claims he is very satisfied with his job. CNN interviewed Sexton and said that he has a lot of fun. "We'll be following these big rigs through town. "Sexton started following truck driver almost 20 years back.

He said, "I fell in love with it."

He loved the story of the driver who pulled into an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton said that the man was searching for a place to store his stuff. "He drove down the road to see this building. He backed up and entered the building. "There were 2 large containers that had been rolled off, and they were full of stuff. The man got everything out of the truck and began filling it up again. He then looked around and decided to load everything. There were old tires and rags, furniture pieces, mattresses, mattresses and boxes. "It was a complete mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There was no trash."

Why did this happen? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. Sexton said that people would bring their household items to the building and then leave empty containers behind.

This could happen hundreds of time per week. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. The owner eventually abandons the vehicle.

But, this isn't the only problem that our planet is facing.

These tiny plastic particles make up the majority of the particles. Some end up in incinerators or landfills. Some are washed into rivers and oceans. Others end up with fish in their stomachs.

Experts warn that the world may soon face a shortage of food if we don't make any changes. Experts warn, "If you keep going like you're going," we could soon face a global food shortage. But most people don't seem to be worried, even though scientists are unanimous in warning us that the world is heading towards disaster.

How To

Hollywood scandals that stunned the world

Nothing is more shocking than seeing someone famous for wrong reasons. It's even more frightening to see them fall from grace.

It's amazing to see how the industry responds to their mistakes. We have all heard of celebrities who overdosed on drugs and alcohol. Some even died young because of it.

It's worse when stars make public their problems, and then are ignored by everyone. We found ourselves in that situation last week.

Heath Ledger died after a long, successful career. He took too many prescription pills and died shortly after.

His friends and family struggled to accept the loss of his son, while the media blasted him openly.

Heath was once one of the most gifted actors currently working. Two Academy Awards nominations were given to Heath for his role in Brokeback Mountain.

Heath did more than act. He also directed films including A Knight's Tale. Monster's Ball and Iron Man.

Hollywood loved Heath, however he soon grew too big for his good looks. He started to use drugs and drink heavily. He eventually went to rehab and was clean.

He wanted to make amends now that he was sober. He made a documentary called "Room 237," that chronicled the making and release of The Shining. The film was originally supposed to be released in this year's theaters, but it will not make its way into the cinemas until next year.

Heath tried unsuccessfully to get into Hollywood again, but nothing happened. In fact, he was arrested twice on drug charges.

We're not saying Heath should have been allowed back into show business. However, it would be nice if he could get some help before things spiral out of control.

We hope Heath’s story serves as a cautionary tale for others who think they might still be able to have it all.
