Vincent van Gogh made a self portrait on oil canvas in September 1889. It was probably his last self-portrait. It is now at Paris' Musee de l'Orsay. Here's more information on the painting: its location, its brushstrokes, and when it was created.
Unknown self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh found in painting "Head of a Peasant Woman"
Unidentified Vincent van Goggh self portrait has been found in a painting. It was discovered in the painting "Head of a Pearsant Woman" by the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Although it's not the original artwork of the artist, it's similar to five other similar works that he created while living and working in Amsterdam.
The painting's conservators are working to uncover the hidden self-portrait in the painting's reverse side, which was repainted by the artist. The restoration process is delicate. Therefore, the self portrait must be removed. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the painting through a specially-made lightbox.

The place where you paint
Van Gogh's famous self-portrait is not known exactly where it was located. However, there are rumors that it was probably created the day he died. It is interesting, however, to recall that Van Gogh wrote many letters over his lifetime. One letter refers to a self picture he painted at National Museum on the 20th of September 1889. It appears that Van Gogh is depicted in the painting at a very sad period of his life. This supports the theory that it was created during his illness.
Van Gogh's self portraits are usually dated from his time in Paris, when his style was perfecting and the colors were brighter. Some of his self-portraits currently hang in London's Courtauld Gallery.
Brushstrokes used in Van Gogh's paintings
Van Gogh's self-portrait is one of his most iconic paintings. It is his largest self portrait and was made of cotton. It stands out among the others because the dominant color of the painting, blue, draws the eyes upwards. It also has fewer detailed brushstrokes for the face, and the background is less distinct.
Van Gogh’s self-portrait was influenced greatly by Japanese prints. The resultant painting is bolder, more dynamic than other. He started to paint self-portraits for both personal reflection and to earn some extra money. He was also able to learn new skills as an artist through it.

Meaning of painting's colours
Van Gogh’s self-portrait shows his love for color. The artist uses complementary colors in his beard and background, creating a halo-like circle around his head. He also used long, dash-type brushstrokes.
The artist's color choices are an expression to his mood. Yellow is the most prominent color in this work. Yellow is the symbol of hope, happiness, and life. Other colors that represent virtue are brown and earth-tones. These colors were chosen by the artist to express his humble nature.

What is the most secretive town in the world?
This question might surprise you. You might be uncomfortable with the truth of it, as it may challenge your perception of reality. But there is a reason why this place exists. And it is not what you would expect.
It was also called the City of God in ancient Greek. According to the Bible, it was called the City of Destruction.
It is also called Kashi in India (Kashmir). It's also known as Novgorod in Russia.
But here in America, it goes by another name - The Town That Disappeared.
A small community of 1200 people in western New York State vanished. With the exception of a road marker pointing to its former site, there were no remains: cars, bodies, houses.
The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some say the earth swallowed it up. Others believe it was destroyed by a meteorite. Others claim it was taken away by aliens.
The people of this once-thriving community, however, are positive that the town won't disappear forever. They had just moved from one town to the other.
A website is available to track the disappearance and recovery of Zugspitz, which was lost in the Great Depression.
So where is this town? Well, it's in Switzerland!
Zugspitze lies on the border between Austria and Germany. Lake Zugspitze lies just above the summit of the mountain.
It has always fascinated and astonished me to see how many towns have vanished but still exist. What is the difference between some towns that disappear and others that survive? I decided to investigate.
I wanted to learn more about mysteriously disappearing towns. What causes a community to disappear? How can one place become extinct?
There are several theories behind the disappearing of towns. One theory suggests that a community disappears when all of its buildings are removed. Another theory holds that the town simply relocates to another location. A third theory claims that the town never existed at all.
There are many theories, but the truth is that thousands of towns around the world have been submerged by the earth. This video examines the history and current status of these places.
Which is the most mysterious spot on Earth?
Antarctica is the world's most mysterious place on Earth.
Why is this place so amazing? Because it is unlike anything else on Earth.
It is remote and difficult to reach. There is much more to this place than meets the eyes.
You will also find some of the oddest wildlife species in this natural wonder.
Let's find out how this mysterious destination became so famous.
Antarctica: The South Pole
It is not known why Antarctica was called Antarctica. Others believe it means "land with ice". Some believe it means "land of ice". Others believe it is Greek mythology.
Antarktis, the Greek name for the island on which Zeus' twin brothers were conceived, was used in ancient Greece. According to legend, one of the twins was born in winter. This is why the word "antarctic" was chosen.
Others believe that the name comes from the Greek words anti meaning against and tropos meaning to turn. This would be land turned away form the sun.
Whatever the reason Antarctica holds a special fascination, people have always loved it.
It is the highest, coldest, windiest, dryest, and most populated continent. It is too cold for trees, plants and animals.
Yet, this frozen wasteland is alive.
It is home to approximately 90 percent of all life on Earth. It is home to approximately half of all world's animal and plant species.
What makes Antarctica so special? Here water freezes to ice and not evaporates into the atmosphere.
This results in large masses of ice floating above the ground.
These glaciers are responsible for covering 80% of the continent. They continue to grow in size each year.
Since 1960, the Antarctic ice sheets has grown 60ft.
The sea level could rise to 200 feet if the melting continues. This could lead worldwide flooding.
Not everyone believes this is bad news. Some scientists think global warming might be beneficial. They suggest that rising temperatures could cause ice sheet melt faster, leading to floods that flush out toxic chemicals from soil and bodies.
Others warn that this theory sounds like something out of a science-fiction movie.
Have you ever wondered how much trash is produced worldwide each day?
According to the United Nations the average person creates more than 2.5 lbs of waste daily. That adds up over 25 billion kilos of garbage every year.
Most of this trash ends up in landfill dumps or incinerators. But what happens when those dumpsters get full? All that trash ends up being shipped out of country. It then gets dumped in foreign countries, polluting their ecosystems. However, now we know where all that trash goes. Mike Sexton is his nickname. He owns a company called Waste Watchers. He spends his time watching trucks hauling trash around North America. He reports back to us about the next steps.
Sexton said he enjoys his job. "We've got a lot of fun," he told CNN. "We see big rigs coming through town and we'll follow them. "Sexton began following truck drivers almost 20 years ago.
He stated, "I just fell in Love with It."
Sexton loved the story about the driver who pulled over at an abandoned gas station close to Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He saw the building as he drove down the road. So he backed up and went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. He then looked around and decided to load everything. There were old tires and rags, furniture pieces, mattresses, mattresses and boxes. "It was just total chaos. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There wasn't any trash."
This begs the question: Why? It's because this area used to be a recycle center. People would drive from all over the country to recycle their trash. Sexton explained, "They would bring their household goods and take them here," and they would then empty the containers.
This could happen hundreds of time per week. It could happen hundreds of thousands of times a week. The truck eventually stops running because it has become so jammed with junk. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.
But, this isn't the only problem that our planet is facing.
These tiny plastic particles make up the majority of the particles. Some end up in incinerators or landfills. Some of these plastics end up in rivers or oceans.
Experts say if nothing changes, we could soon face a global food shortage. Experts warn, "If you keep going like you're going," we could soon face a global food shortage. But most people don't seem to be worried, even though scientists are unanimous in warning us that the world is heading towards disaster.

Hollywood scandals that shocked the world
There's nothing more shocking than watching someone become famous for the wrong reasons. However, there is nothing worse than watching them fall from grace.
The best part is seeing how an industry reacts to its mistakes. We've all heard stories of celebrities who used drugs and alcohol excessively. Some even died young because of it.
The worst thing is when these stars are made public about their problems and shunned. That's where we found ourselves last week.
Heath Ledger died after a long, successful career. He overdosed on prescription pills, and after a brief battle with death, he passed away.
His family and his friends struggled with the news and the media went after him.
Heath was once regarded as one of the best actors today. Two Academy Awards nominations were given to Heath for his role in Brokeback Mountain.
Heath, in addition to acting, also wrote and directed films such as A Knight's Tale (Monster's Ball) and Iron Man (3).
Hollywood loved Heath, but he became too big for his britches. He became addicted to drugs and drank heavily. Eventually, he went to rehab and came out clean.
Now that he was sober, it was time to make amends. So he made a documentary called "Room 237," which chronicled the making of The Shining. It was supposed that it would be released this year but it won't make its debut in theaters until next.
Heath tried unsuccessfully to get into Hollywood again, but nothing happened. In fact, he was actually twice arrested for drug-related charges.
While we aren't saying Heath shouldn't have been allowed back in the show business, However, it would be nice if he could get some help before things spiral out of control.
We hope Heath’s story can be an example to other people who believe they can still have it all.
