People have wondered about if there's another world underneath the earth all through history. Some ancient Greeks even believed it existed, though their beliefs were more mythological than literal. Modern science has confirmed that the planet is made up of layers of liquid magma and dense hot core. However, the popular 17th-century theory that our planet was hollow meant that there is another world below it was one of the most popular.
Plate tectonics
Earth's ongoing process of platetectonics is responsible in part for the formations today of mountains, oceans, as well as incandescent volcanic eruptions. In the future however, platetectonics will cool to the point that the planetwide conveyor will stop, ending the process which reshapes the planet.
Habitable zones
Earth is one example a planet which has a habitable subsurface zone. The solar luminosity and solar irradiance determine the outer and inner limits of the zone. The solar constant's upper limit is 0.53x. This is equivalent of 1.37 astronomical unit.
FAQ
How does your brain control the functions within your body?
To ensure that they work together, messages are sent by the brain to other organs. Your brain controls all that happens in your body. It tells you your stomach to digest food; your lungs to inhale air; and it tells you your arms and legs how to move.
Your brain is made of billions, or neurons, of nerve cells. Action potentials on Axons are an electrical signal that neurons send to each other. Every neuron has a cell wall around its nucleus. The cell membrane houses channels that allow ions, such as potassium and sodium, to enter and exit the cells. The neuron is lit by an electric charge created by the movement of ions.
When a neuron is activated, neurotransmitters release chemicals into the space between it and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters bind to receptors on the second neuron, opening ion channels so ions can pass in and out of the channel. As a result, the second neuron fires too.
When another neuron sends an impulse to the presynaptic neural cell, neurotransmitter is released. An impulse travels along a synaptic link between the two neuron. The transmitter binds to the receptors on the postsynaptic neural cell, which triggers the firing of that neuron.
They are vital for the communication between nerve cells. They coordinate brain activity among different parts.
What is the most fascinating fact about the human body
We have two eyes and two ears, two nostrils each, four limbs, four limbs and a penis. That's right, we have more than 50 parts of our bodies, but one thing is missing. A heart.
The heart is a pump which circulates blood throughout the body. The blood moves through the arteries and veins to transport oxygen and nutrients into the cells, and remove carbon dioxide.
The heart pumps out about 5 liters per minute. This amount is equivalent to an adult drinking 2-3 cups of coffee daily.
Blood flows through the heart 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When you're asleep, your heart beats approximately 100 times per hour.
You can tell whether someone is healthy or unhealthy because of the color of their skin. Looking closely at the skin's surface, you can see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These vessels carry blood back to the heart from the large blood vessels beneath the skin. When blood flow is blocked, the skin turns blue or purple.
People with sickle cells lack red blood cell. Their blood becomes extremely sticky and hardened, which can lead to very serious illnesses.
Bandages are used to stop bleeding after you have cut yourself. Blood must continue to flow to allow the wounds to heal properly. Doctors place a needle in the wound and insert it through the skin. This allows blood to drain from the area.
Doctors can also insert catheters into the artery close to the area where the bloodclot has formed. This keeps the patient alive until the clot breaks up naturally.
Did you know that there are approximately 1.6 billion metric tons of trash produced every day in the world?
According to the United Nations the average person creates more than 2.5 lbs of waste daily. That adds up over 25 billion kilos of garbage every year.
Most of this trash ends up in landfill dumps or incinerators. But what happens when those dumpsters get full? Where does all that rubbish go?Well, most of it gets shipped out of the country. The rest is dumped abroad, where it pollutes other ecosystems. Now, we know the exact location of all this garbage. Mike Sexton is his real name. He is the founder of Waste Watchers. He watches over trucks that transport trash across North America. He then reports back to us on what happens next.
Sexton says he finds his job very satisfying. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.
"I just fell in love with it," he said.
Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove down the road to see this building. So he backed up and went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. "Then, he took everything out and started filling up the truck again. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. It was a complete mess. But it had been cleaned out before he came along. There wasn’t trash everywhere."
Why did this happen? It is because the location used to belong to a recycling centre. People who found out about this facility would drive to it to recycle their trash. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.
Now, because of the way the law works, once a container reaches its destination, it cannot be opened. So no matter how often someone takes something out of it, the thing will never be emptied.Every time the truck comes by, it has to start over again. This could happen hundreds times per week. Finally, the truck stops running completely due to its excessive junk. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.
But, this isn't the only problem that our planet is facing.
These tiny plastic particles make up the majority of the particles. Some end up in incinerators or landfills. Some are washed into rivers and oceans. Others end up with fish in their stomachs.
Experts warn that if there is no change, the world could soon be facing a food shortage. One expert said, "If we keep going as we are going, we're never going to make it," but most people don’t seem concerned.
Is there a Hollywood blacklist of actors?
There is a Hollywood blacklist.
The list is not made public. As far as we are aware, the names are not even known. Here's why this matters.
The reason for the secrecy is that the blacklisted actors and directors wouldn't be able to find jobs. Thus, they would leave the industry and studios will lose money. This would mean that they would cut back on movie production. That would reduce the opportunities for blacklisted filmmakers. Which would lead them to go bankrupt.
This could lead to more victims.
When someone tries making an Oscar winning movie they might be asked for a contract. This means that they can't publicly criticize their employer. For any producer or director that wants to be nominated, the same applies.
Producers often pressure directors to cut scenes from their films. Or directors threaten to walk out of projects that don’t match their vision.
This is why Hollywood keeps a blacklist. If you are negative about your employer, you'll most likely go unemployed. That's bad for everyone.
It is not uncommon for people to be falsely accused. They have had to fight for their freedom.
We need to stop this kind of thing before it starts happening again. It is essential that everyone has the freedom to express their opinions.
We must get rid of the Hollywood blacklist.

How To
Hollywood scandals that stunned the world
Nothing is more shocking than seeing someone famous for wrong reasons. But, it's equally shocking to watch them fall from the graces.
It's fascinating to see how industries react to their mistakes. Many celebrities have used alcohol and drugs in excess. Some even died young because of it.
It's worse when stars make public their problems, and then are ignored by everyone. We found ourselves in that situation last week.
After a long and successful career, Heath Ledger finally succumbed to his demons. He died after succumbing to prescription drugs.
His friends and family struggled to accept the loss of his son, while the media blasted him openly.
Heath was once thought to be one the greatest actors of all time. His performance in Brokeback Mountain earned him two Academy Awards nominations.
Heath, in addition to acting, also wrote and directed films such as A Knight's Tale (Monster's Ball) and Iron Man (3).
Hollywood loved Heath. But he was too big for his boots. He began to drink heavily and took drugs. Eventually, he went to rehab and came out clean.
After he had gotten sober, he decided to make amends. He then made "Room 237," a documentary that chronicled The Shining's making. It was supposed to be released this year, but now it won't hit theaters until next year.
Heath tried many times to get back into Hollywood. Nothing worked. In fact, Heath was twice arrested on drug charges.
We are not suggesting that Heath should be allowed back into the show business. It would have been nice, however, if he had received some help before things got out of control.
We hope Heath’s tale will be a wakeup call to anyone who may believe that they can still have all.
