Whatever the reason Antarctica has held a special fascination for people, it is undeniable.
It is the continent with the lowest, windiest and highest temperatures. There are no trees, plants, or animals here because it is too cold.
Yet, the frozen desert is alive with life.

And what makes Antarctica such a unique environment? Here, water freezes and becomes ice instead of evaporated into the air.

These floating glaciers make up 80%. They're getting bigger every year.
Since 1960, the Antarctic ice sheets has grown 60ft.
The sea level will rise up to 200 feet if melting continues. This could lead to massive flooding across the globe.

It turned out that there are many theories about disappearing towns. One theory holds that a town disappears if all its buildings are demolished. Another theory holds that the town simply relocates to another location. Another theory suggests that the town has never existed.
Although theories may be a bit speculative, it is a fact that numerous towns have been destroyed by the elements. This video explores the history of these towns and examines their current state.
