National Treasure Book of Secrets (DVD Review)

disturbing facts about the world

National Treasure: Book of Secrets, despite its flaws and shortcomings, is an action-adventure film worth watching. It is entertaining in the Nic Cage-grabbing-a-quick-buck kind of way, and children will likely forgive the film's faults.

National Treasure returns to theaters after a fifteen year hiatus. Book of Secrets, which is a sequel, features Nicolas Cage playing Benjamin Franklin Gates as a treasure hunter. His family is guarded a secret that has been hidden for centuries. It is believed that the Founding Fathers kept the secret. But Ben's father and mother aren't convinced. They want to prove his great-great-grandfather, Thomas Gates, was not a conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Ben's scheme to clear his family names may backfire.

The story centers around Freemasonry and the links between ancient secret societies, American history, and Freemasonry. Gates's great-great-grandfather is suspected of being a conspirator in the assassination, but he has no proof. Ben seeks out Mitch Wilkinson, Ed Harris, as a researcher to find the proof. Wilkinson believes Gates, but he has his doubts.

Book of Secrets' plot is complex. There are many clues. Some are hidden in treasured artifacts. Others are hidden in secret societies. The story is complex, and viewers will need to suspend their disbelief. There are even a few far-fetched scenarios.

FAQ

What dark secrets do Hollywood have?

Hollywood is filled with secret societies. Some secret societies are cultlike groups that have strict rules and rituals. Other clubs are for people who share common interests.

There are other nefarious entities that have a significant influence on the industry. Companies such as the MPAA, which determines film ratings, or the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), that set music licensing fees, are examples of these.

Numerous unions/guilds also represent actors and directors as well as writers, producers, and so forth. These large corporations control the majority of major film studios and television networks.

The fact is that regardless of how secretive any group may be, someone somewhere knows exactly who they are. They shouldn't be fearful, however.

Instead, embrace them. Because they help us make better choices.

These experts tell us which movies are most likely to succeed, which songs will be in demand, and what books will sell the best.

In short, they help us decide what we'll buy, watch, read, and listen to.

We can trust their advice and we can ignore it if it contradicts our values.

Because we have chosen to ignore their power, they are even more powerful. They are the ultimate arbiters and judges of taste.

You are free to ignore their messages if that bothers you.

Let's take a closer look at some of the less-known, yet still very real Hollywood secret clubs.

And you'll understand why they're so crucial.

Is there a Hollywood blacklist of actors?

There is a Hollywood blacklist.

The list isn’t available for public viewing. As far as we are aware, the names are not even known. Here's why this matters.

The reason for the secrecy is that the blacklisted actors and directors wouldn't be able to find jobs. They would go out of business which would mean that studios would lose their money. Which means they'd cut back on spending money on movies. That would reduce the opportunities for blacklisted filmmakers. They would then go bankrupt.

Which could ultimately result in more victims.

A contract may be required to agree to not speak against employers if someone attempts to make an Oscar winning movie. This applies to any producer or director who wishes to be nominated.

This is why you'll hear about directors being pressured by producers to take scenes out of their films. Directors threaten to abandon projects that don’t conform to their vision.

This is why there is a Hollywood blacklist. If you make negative comments about your employer, it's likely that you will be unemployed. This is not good news for anyone.

Many people have been wrongly accused. They've had the toil to clear their name.

This is unacceptable behavior and must be stopped. Everyone should have the right to speak freely.

Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the Hollywood blacklist.

How does the brain control the functions in your body?

The brain sends messages to other organs and muscles to ensure they work together. Your brain controls all that happens in your body. It tells both your stomach and lungs what to do; it also controls your legs and arms.

Your brain is made up of billions upon billions of nerve cells that are connected together in groups called neuronal groups. Action potentials, which are electrical signals sent by neurons to each other via axons, allow them to communicate with one another. Every neuron has an outer cell membrane that surrounds its nucleus. The membrane contains channels that allow ions like sodium and potassium to enter the cell and leave it. The electric charge that causes the neuron's fire is created by ion movement.

Neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that release neurotransmitters when a neuron fires up, can be found in the space between the neurons and the next one. Neurotransmitters can bind to receptors at the second neuron. They open ions channels, allowing ions to move in and outside of the channel. In turn, the second neuron also fires.

Neurotransmitter releases occur when a presynaptic neurons receives an input from another neuron. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds with the receptors of the postsynaptic nerve, activating the firing of the postsynaptic neurons.

The nervous system relies on neurotransmitters for communication. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.

What is the most interesting fact about the human body?

We have two eyes and two ears, two nostrils each, four limbs, four limbs and a penis. That's right, we have more than 50 parts of our bodies, but one thing is missing. A heart.

The heart is a pump which circulates blood throughout the body. The blood travels through the veins and arteries, transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells. It also removes carbon dioxide.

Each minute, the heart pumps 5 liters of blood. This is equivalent to a person drinking 2-3 cups coffee daily.

Blood flows through the heart 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When you're asleep, your heart beats approximately 100 times per hour.

Skin color can be used to determine if someone has a medical condition. If you examine the skin closely, you will see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These vessels carry blood away to the heart via the large blood vessels. The skin turns blue or violet when blood flow becomes blocked.

People with sickle cell disease lack red blood cells. Their blood becomes sticky and hardens, causing them to become very ill.

Bandages are used to stop bleeding after you have cut yourself. The wound must remain open for blood to flow properly. To do this, doctors will insert a needle through your skin into the vein adjacent to the injury. This allows the blood from the injured area to drain.

Doctors also insert tubes (catheters) into the artery near the site where the blood clot forms. This keeps patients alive until the clot has broken up naturally.

How To

Hollywood scandals that shocked the globe

Nothing is more shocking than seeing someone famous for wrong reasons. But there's also nothing worse than seeing them fall from grace.

The best part is seeing how an industry reacts to its mistakes. We've all heard about celebrities who took too much alcohol and drugs. Some even died young because of it.

But, the worst part? When those stars openly discuss their issues and are ignored by everyone. Last week, that's exactly where we were.

Heath Ledger lost his long and successful career. He overdosed on prescription pills, and after a brief battle with death, he passed away.

His family and close friends had difficulty accepting his death. The media took to him publically.

Heath was once thought to be one the greatest actors of all time. His performance in Brokeback Mountain earned him two Academy Awards nominations.

In addition to acting, Heath also wrote and directed films, including A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, and Iron Man 3.

Hollywood loved Heath. But he was too big for his boots. He started taking drugs and drinking heavily. He eventually went to rehab and was clean.

Now that he was sober, it was time to make amends. He created a documentary called Room 237, which documented the making of The Shining. It was originally scheduled to release this year, but it won’t be available in theaters until next.

Heath tried unsuccessfully to get into Hollywood again, but nothing happened. In fact, he was actually twice arrested for drug-related charges.

Although we don't think Heath should be allowed to return to the showbiz, However, it would be nice if he could get some help before things spiral out of control.

We hope Heath’s story serves as a cautionary tale for others who think they might still be able to have it all.
