I wanted to learn more about mysteriously disappearing towns. What makes a town disappear? How does one place go extinct?
There are many theories regarding the phenomenon of towns disappearing. One theory suggests that a community disappears when all of its buildings are removed. Another theory suggests that the town simply moves somewhere else. A third theory holds that the town did not exist.
No matter what theories you may have, there is no doubt that many towns across the globe were swallowed by the ground. This video examines the past and present status of these areas.

Antarctica, The South Pole
Antarctica is not known by anyone. Some believe it means "land of ice." Others believe it derives from Greek mythology.
Antarktis in ancient Greece was the name given the island where Zeus' twin brother brothers were born. According to legend, one of the twins was born in winter. Hence, the word antarctic.
Others believe that it is the Greek word anti, which means against, and tropos, which refers to turning. This would translate to land that is turned away from the sun.
Whatever the reason Antarctica has always been a fascination for people.
It is the continent with the lowest, windiest and highest temperatures. Because it is so cold, there aren't any trees, plants or animals.
Yet, the frozen desert is alive with life.
Here are about 90% of all the living creatures on Earth. Here are approximately 50% of all the animal and plant species in the world.
What is the secret to Antarctica's unique environment? Here, water freezes in ice rather that vaporizing into the atmosphere.

These floating glaciers cover over 80%. They're getting bigger every year.
Since 1960, the Antarctic ice sheets has grown 60ft.
The sea level will rise up to 200 feet if melting continues. This could lead to widespread flooding.
This does not mean that everyone is wrong. Some scientists suggest that global warming could actually be good for us. They suggest that rising temperatures could cause ice sheet melt faster, leading to floods that flush out toxic chemicals from soil and bodies.
But others warn that this theory sounds like a plot from a science fiction movie.

There are two eyes, two ears. Two nostrils. Four limbs. A mouth, nose and penis. It's true, we have more 50 parts of our body, but there is one thing missing. A heart.
The heart is a pump that circulates blood throughout your body. The blood travels through the veins and arteries, transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells. It also removes carbon dioxide.
The heart pumps about 5 liters blood per minute. This is equivalent to an adult consuming 2-3 cups of coffee per day.
The blood flows throughout the heart 24/7, 365 days a calendar. While sleeping, your heart beats close to 100 times per minute.
The color of someone's skin can tell if they are healthy or not. Capillaries are tiny blood vessels visible on the skin's surface. These vessels carry blood away to the heart via the large blood vessels. The skin becomes blue-colored or purple when blood flow is restricted.
People suffering from sickle cell disease have no red blood cells. Patients with sickle cell disease have their blood become sticky and harden, leading to severe illness.
To stop bleeding from a cut, you can apply a bandage to the wound. The wound must remain open for blood to flow properly. To do this, doctors will insert a needle through your skin into the vein adjacent to the injury. This allows blood flow to the area that has been injured.
Doctors can also insert catheters into the artery close to the area where the bloodclot has formed. This keeps the patient alive till the blood clot dissolves naturally.

This could result in even more victims.
In short, when someone tries to make an oscar winning movie, they might be asked to sign a contract saying they won't speak publicly against their employers. Any director or producer who would like to be nominated for an award is subject to the same rules.
Producers often pressure directors to cut scenes from their films. Directors may threaten to quit projects that don’t align with their vision.
This is why Hollywood has created a blacklist. You'll likely become unemployed if you say bad things about your employer. This is not good news for anyone.

This is unacceptable behavior and must be stopped. We need to ensure everyone has the right of expression.
