FAQ

Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?

According to the United Nations the average person creates more than 2.5 lbs of waste daily. That adds up over 25 billion kilos of garbage every year.

Many of this trash ends in landfill dumps, or incinerators. But what happens if those dumpsters are full? All that trash ends up being shipped out of country. It then gets dumped in foreign countries, polluting their ecosystems. However, now we know where all that trash goes. Mike Sexton is his real name. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back to us on what happens next.

Sexton stated that he finds the job very satisfying. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "You know, we see these big rigs come through town, and we'll follow them. "Sexton began following truckers almost 20 year ago.

"It's all I felt," he stated.

Sexton loved the story about the driver who pulled over at an abandoned gas station close to Los Angeles. Sexton recalls, "The guy was searching for somewhere to put his loads." "He drove down the street and saw this building. So he backed up and went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. The man got everything out of the truck and began filling it up again. He then looked around and decided to load everything. There were lots of old tires, rags furniture, mattresses, mattresses, cans, cans, and other items. "It was just total chaos. It had been cleaned up before he arrived. There was not a single piece of trash.

What is the explanation? This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. Sexton explained, "They would bring their household goods and take them here," and they would then empty the containers.

Now, because of the way the law works, once a container reaches its destination, it cannot be opened. So no matter how often someone takes something out of it, the thing will never be emptied.Every time the truck comes by, it has to start over again. The truck can be stopped running if it is so full of junk that it has to come back hundreds of times per week. The owner eventually decides to dump the truck.

However, trash is not the only problem on our planet.

Plastic pieces make up most of these particles. Others end up in rivers, oceans or the stomachss of fish.

Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. "If we keep going like we're going, we're not going to make it," one expert warned. But even though scientists agree that the world is headed toward disaster, most people don't seem worried.

How does the brain regulate the functions of the body?

The brain communicates with other organs to ensure their cooperation. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells you your stomach to digest food; your lungs to inhale air; and it tells you your arms and legs how to move.

Your brain is made up of billions upon billions of nerve cells that are connected together in groups called neuronal groups. Action potentials are electrical signals that neurons send to one another. Each neuron has a cell membrane surrounding its nucleus. The membrane contains channels that allow ions like sodium and potassium to enter the cell and leave it. The neuron fires when there is ion movement.

Neurotransmitters, chemical substances that are released when a neuron fires. Neurotransmitters are able to bind to receptors in the second neuron. This opens ion channels that allow ions to flow in and out. As a result, second neuron fires as well.

When another neuron sends an impulse to the presynaptic neural cell, neurotransmitter is released. The impulse travels along an synapse between the neurons. The transmitter binds to the receptors on the postsynaptic neural cell, which triggers the firing of that neuron.

They are vital for the communication between nerve cells. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.

Which is the most mysterious spot on Earth?

Antarctica is the world's most mysterious place on Earth.

We find this place so fascinating. Because it is unlike any other spot on Earth.

It is remote and difficult to reach. It is not what you see.

This natural wonder is also home to some of the strangest wildlife species.

So let's explore how this remarkable destination became famous for its mystery.

Antarctica: The South Pole

Antarctica's name is a mystery. Some believe it means "land of ice." Others believe it derives from Greek mythology.

In ancient Greece, Antarktis was the name given to the island where Zeus' twin brothers were born. One of the twins was said to have been born in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.

Others think the name came from the Greek words anti, meaning against, and tropos meaning turn. This would be land turned away form the sun.

Whatever the reason Antarctica has held a special fascination for people, it is undeniable.

It is the driest, windiest of all continents. Because it is so cold, there aren't any trees, plants or animals.

And yet, this frozen wasteland is teeming with life.

It is home to approximately 90 percent of all life on Earth. There are about 50% of the world's animal, plant and plant species.

What makes Antarctica so special? Here water freezes to ice and not evaporates into the atmosphere.

This creates large masses of ice that float above the ground.

These floating glaciers cover 80% of the continent. They are growing in size every year.

Since 1960, the Antarctic ice sheets has grown 60ft.

If the melting continues, the sea level will rise by up to 200 feet. This could lead to massive flooding across the globe.

Not everyone believes this is bad news. Global warming may be beneficial for some scientists. According to scientists, global warming could be good for us because the melting of the ice sheets will accelerate, which can lead to floods that release toxic chemicals into our soil and bodies.

Others, however, warn that this theory sounds almost like a plot for a science fiction film.

What dark secrets do Hollywood have?

Hollywood is full of secret societies. Many secret societies are cult-like and follow rigid rules. Others are just clubs for people with common interests.

However, there are many other criminal organizations that hold much of the industry's power. These include the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), the organization that sets film ratings and RIAA(Recording Industry Association of America), the company that sets music licensing fees.

Numerous unions, guilds, and associations represent actors, writers, producers, editors, and other creative professionals. The majority of major television networks and movie studios are owned by large corporations.

It is obvious that, no matter how secretive or obtuse a group appears, someone knows exactly what they do. But that doesn't mean we should fear them.

Instead, we should embrace them. Because they help us make better choices.

They tell us what movies will likely succeed, what songs will be popular, and what books will best sell.

These help us to decide what we'll watch, read, listen, and buy.

Because we can trust them, we can ignore their advice when it conflicts with our tastes.

They are more powerful than ever because we chose to ignore them. They become the ultimate arbiters of taste.

You can ignore them if they don't agree with you.

Let's take a closer look at some of the less-known, yet still very real Hollywood secret clubs.

You can see why they are so vital.
