There are many facts about the White House. For example, it's made of gray-colored sandstone from a Virginia quarry. It was rebuilt following a fire during the War of 1812, and is now a national treasure site. In addition, it's said to be haunted.

It has a tennis courts and a jogging path. The Situation Room, in which advisers brief the president when he is facing a crisis, can also be found here. It is also a popular tourist attraction with many interpretive programs and educational literature.

It is secured by the Secret Service

The White House is one the most highly guarded buildings in the world. The Secret Service has guards who patrol the perimeter of the building and a SWAT squad that is equipped with automatic weapons. An attack dog trained to track down intruders also patrols the grounds. 1,200 Secret Service Agents work at the Executive Mansion around the clock. There are also bulletproof windows, bulletproof doors, and alarms that can detect an intruder.

It features a treehouse

The White House has a tree house on the South Lawn. It was created by President Jimmy Carter. Amy Carter used to sleep in it as a child. It is made of Atlas cedar, and its self-supporting design protects the surrounding trees.
