There are two eyes, two ears. Two nostrils. Four limbs. A mouth, nose and penis. We have over 50 parts of our bodies. However, one thing is missing. A heart.
A heart is a pump, which circulates blood throughout our bodies. The blood flows through the veins and arteries to carry oxygen and nutrients to the cells.
The heart pumps about 5 liters blood per minute. This is equivalent in daily coffee consumption to an adult who consumes approximately 2 to 3 cups.
The blood flows throughout the heart 24/7, 365 days a calendar. Your heart beats nearly 100 times a minute while sleeping.
Because of the color and texture of their skin, you can tell if someone is healthy or sick. Capillaries are tiny blood vessels visible on the skin's surface. These small vessels carry blood from the large blood vessel in the skin back towards the heart. When blood flow is blocked, the skin turns blue or purple.
People with sickle cells lack red blood cell. Their blood becomes very sticky and hardened, leading to serious illness.
You can use a bandage to stop bleeding if your cut is severe. Blood must continue to flow to allow the wounds to heal properly. To do this, doctors insert a needle through the skin into the vein next to the injury. This allows the blood from the injured area to drain.

A small town in western New York State, with a population of 1,200, vanished without a trace. It was abandoned without any remains, including no bodies, cars, or houses. The only thing that survived was a road sign, which pointed to its former location.
This tiny community disappeared without leaving any clues as to where it went or when. Some believe the earth swallowed them up. Some claim it was destroyed by a meteorite impact. Others claim it was taken away by aliens.
The people of this once-thriving community, however, are positive that the town won't disappear forever. They had just relocated to another town.

There are several theories behind the disappearing of towns. One theory suggests that a community disappears when all of its buildings are removed. Another theory is that the town moves to another place. A third theory states that the town didn't exist at all.
There are many theories, but the truth is that thousands of towns around the world have been submerged by the earth. This video examines the history and current status of these places.
How does your brain control your body's functions?
To ensure that other organs and muscle functions work together, the brain sends messages. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells your stomach how to digest food and your lungs how to inhale oxygen; it also tells your arms, legs and feet to move.
Your brain is made up billions of nerve cell networks connected in groups known as neurons. Neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals called action potentials on axons. Every neuron has a cell wall around its nucleus. Channels within the membrane allow ions such potassium and sodium to enter and leave the cells. The neuron fires when there is ion movement.
Neurotransmitters, chemical substances that are released when a neuron fires. Neurotransmitters attach to the receptors of the second neuron and open ions channels for ions to pass in and out. As a result, second neuron fires as well.
Neurotransmitter releases occur when a presynaptic neurons receives an input from another neuron. An impulse travels along a synaptic link between the two neuron. The transmitter binds to the receptors on the postsynaptic neural cell, which triggers the firing of that neuron.
The nervous system relies on neurotransmitters for communication. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.

According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste.That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!
Most of the trash ends up at incinerators and landfills. But, what happens to those dumpsters? It goes to the United States, where most of it is exported. The trash is then sent out of the country and dumped in countries where it pollutes ecosystems. But, one man has now discovered exactly where this rubbish goes. Mike Sexton is his name. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He reports back to us about the next steps.
Sexton claims he is very satisfied with his job. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We see big rigs coming through town and we'll follow them. "Sexton began following truckers almost 20 year ago.
"I just fell in love with it," he said.
His favorite story is about a driver that pulled into an abandoned gas station just outside Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He saw the building as he drove down the road. So he backed up and went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. The guy took everything out and started filling up the truck again. "The man looked around the area and decided to unload all of it. There were a bunch of old tires, rags, furniture, mattresses, boxes, bottles, cans, and whatever else. "It was just an absolute mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There wasn't any trash anywhere."
This begs the question: Why? This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that they would bring household items and take them to the building. Then, after they were done, they would empty the containers.
Now, because of the way the law works, once a container reaches its destination, it cannot be opened.So no matter how often someone takes something out of it, the thing will never be emptied.Every time the truck comes by, it has to start over again. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. The owner finally decides to stop using the truck.
But, this isn't the only problem that our planet is facing.
The majority of these particles are made of small pieces of plastic. Others end up in rivers, oceans or the stomachss of fish.
Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. One expert said, "If we keep going as we are going, we're never going to make it," but most people don’t seem concerned.

Heath Ledger died after a long, successful career. He died after succumbing to prescription drugs.
His family and close friends had difficulty accepting his death. The media took to him publically.
Heath was once considered to be one of today's most talented actors. Two Academy Awards nominations were given to Heath for his role in Brokeback Mountain.
Heath not only acted, but also wrote and directed films including A Knight's Tale. Monster's Ball. Iron Man.
Hollywood loved Heath but he grew too large for his boots. He became addicted to drugs and drank heavily. He ended up in rehab and became clean.
Now that he was sober, it was time to make amends. He then made "Room 237," a documentary that chronicled The Shining's making. It was supposed to hit theaters this year. However, it won't until next year.
Heath attempted to get into Hollywood every time. In fact, he was arrested twice on drug charges.
We don't believe Heath should have been allowed to go back into the entertainment industry. However, it would be nice if he could get some help before things spiral out of control.
