He said, "I fell in love with it."
His favorite story is about a driver that pulled into an abandoned gas station just outside Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove along the road and saw this structure. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. He took out everything and began to fill up the truck. "Then he looked at the place and decided to unload everything. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just an absolute mess. But it had been cleaned out before he came along. There was no trash."
This begs the question: Why? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. Sexton explained that people would bring home their household items, and then take them to the building. After they were done, they would dispose of the empty containers.
You might see this happen hundreds of times a day. The truck can be stopped running if it is so full of junk that it has to come back hundreds of times per week. The owner finally decides to stop using the truck.
But, this isn't the only problem that our planet is facing.
