Strange and Weird Humanities

true horror facts

Amongst all the strange and wonderful aspects of our bodies there are some that are truly frightening. Let's explore some of more fascinating and obscure functions found in the human body.

The heart can beat 100,000 times per hour. This may not seem like much but think about this: If your heart stopped pumping every second for one day, then you would die. You can also see blood squirting 30 feet away.

The human eye contains more than five hundred million pixels. This is half a billion times larger than the average smartphone. Due to the cilia attached to the eyeball that attach to it, a human eye can grow up to twice the size of a football.

The human eye also produces enough light to illuminate a small room. There are about 100,000 miles of blood vessels throughout the human body. These arteries carry oxygen from blood to tissues.

super creepy facts

A whole system is called the "diving reflex", which shuts down certain bodily functions when we are submerged in water. The pupil expands by 45% when we see something good.

We also have an appendix. Untreated, the appendix can infect other organs. In fact, it is possible to remove up to 80% of the liver.

The human body is a marvellous place. It has enough fat to make seven bars soap. It's also home for hundreds of thousands of bacteria. The skin, the largest organ in our bodies, is oily, greasy, and home to over a thousand species of bacteria.

The human body can also perform many mundane and unusual tasks. We blink 10 million times per year, but also do the uncanny. The mouth also has a lot of things happening. Other than the obvious functions of your mouth, you can also swallow and breath.

You can also use the toilet. Besides being the largest and most important part of the bathroom, the toilet is also the main source of reading material in the average home. In a lifetime, the average person drinks approximately 20,000 gallons.

horrifying history facts

Other than the obvious, the human body also functions as a "sneezing". Over-sneezing can cause a fracture of a rib. The human nose is also home to more than 8,000 taste buds. There are also more than one hundred cells in the tongue that are used to taste food.

The human brain generates more energy than it takes to light a bulb. And if you don't count the ovaries, the human body is capable of producing 350,000 joules of energy per hour. This is more than enough energy to make a lightbulb turn on.

Other interesting human body facts include our "diving” reflex, our eyes being our largest organ and our capability to fly. We also have more cars on the road than people. But there are more crayfish in the sea than humans, so it's safe to say that the human body is more impressive than most people give it credit for.

FAQ

What is the most intriguing fact about the human anatomy?

There are two eyes, two ears. Two nostrils. Four limbs. A mouth, nose and penis. It's true, we have more 50 parts of our body, but there is one thing missing. The heart.

A heart is a pump, which circulates blood throughout our bodies. The blood travels through the veins and arteries, transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells. It also removes carbon dioxide.

The heart pumps out about 5 liters per minute. This amount is equivalent to an adult drinking 2-3 cups of coffee daily.

The blood flows throughout the heart 24/7, 365 days a calendar. While you sleep, your heart beats almost 100 times per minute.

Because of the color and texture of their skin, you can tell if someone is healthy or sick. Capillaries are tiny blood vessels visible on the skin's surface. These small vessels carry blood from the large blood vessel in the skin back towards the heart. The skin turns purple or blue when there is a blockage in blood flow.

Red blood cells are not available to sickle cell patients. Patients with sickle cell disease have their blood become sticky and harden, leading to severe illness.

To stop bleeding from a cut, you can apply a bandage to the wound. For wounds to heal properly, blood must flow. Doctors place a needle in the wound and insert it through the skin. This allows the blood from the injured area to drain.

A doctor can also insert tubes (catheters), into an artery in the vicinity of where blood clots form. This keeps the patient occupied until the clot is broken down naturally.

These are five interesting facts about livers

The liver is responsible for breaking down toxins and storing vitamins and minerals. It also helps regulate blood pressure and keeps our body temperature stable.

Is it not often that we hear people say "I feel sluggish today" and "my head feels heavier?" These symptoms could indicate problems with your liver.

Some common signs include dark urine, yellowing skin, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach cramps, jaundice (yellow coloration), and itching. These are not the only warning signs. If you feel any of these warning signs, consult your doctor immediately.

The liver, an essential organ, is vital. It is an important organ that plays a vital role in detoxification.

  1. An adult liver weighs around 1,400 grams.
  2. A baby's liver is about half the size of an adult's at birth. It can grow to four times the size of an infant's liver by the age 3.
  3. The liver can be found just below the rib cage, on the left side.
  4. The liver is divided into 16 major lobes. However, there are many smaller lobules that are within these lobes.
  5. The liver is home to approximately 10 million red blood cell units.

Is there a Hollywood blacklist of actors?

There is a Hollywood blacklist.

But the list isn't made public. We don't know the names. But, here's why it matters.

The secretive nature of the information is due to the fact that actors and directors on blacklist won't be in a position to find work. They would go out of business which would mean that studios would lose their money. It would mean they would reduce their expenditure on movies. That would reduce the opportunities for blacklisted filmmakers. This would make them bankrupt.

Which could ultimately result in more victims.

If someone attempts to make an Oscar-winning movie, they may be asked to sign a contract stating that they will not speak out against their employers. The same goes for any director or producer who wants to get nominated for an award.

You hear stories of directors being pressured to remove scenes from films. Directors threaten to abandon projects that don’t conform to their vision.

This is why Hollywood has a blacklist. If you are negative about your employer, you'll most likely go unemployed. And that's not good for anyone.

Many people have been wrongly accused. It's been a struggle to get their names cleared.

This must be stopped before it happens again. We need to ensure everyone has the right of expression.

We must get rid of the Hollywood blacklist.

What is the most mysterious location on Earth?

Antarctica is one of the most mysterious places on Earth.

What is it that makes this place so interesting? It is unlike any other place on Earth.

It is remote, isolated, and extremely difficult to visit. This site has more to it than meets your eye.

These wild animals are also found in this natural wonder.

Let's see how this incredible destination became famous for its mystery.

Antarctica, The South Pole

No one knows exactly why Antarctica was named Antarctica. Some say it means "land on ice." Others believe it comes from Greek mythology.

Antarktis in ancient Greece was the name given the island where Zeus' twin brother brothers were born. According to legend, one twin was born in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.

Others believe that the name is a combination of the Greek words anti and tropos which mean against and turn. This would translate to land that is turned away from the sun.

Whatever the reason Antarctica holds a special fascination, people have always loved it.

It is the continent with the lowest, windiest and highest temperatures. Because it is too frigid, there are no trees, animals, or plants.

Yet, life is abundant in this frozen wilderness.

Here, 90 percent live of all species of living things. It is home to approximately half of all world's animal and plant species.

What is the secret to Antarctica's unique environment? Here, water freezes into ice instead of evaporating into the air.

This causes large ice masses to rise above the ground.

These floating glaciers make up 80%. They are growing in size every year.

The Antarctic ice has grown 60 feet so far since 1960.

If the melting continues, the sea level will rise by up to 200 feet. This could lead to widespread flooding.

However, not all scientists believe this to be bad news. Global warming may be beneficial for some scientists. They say that as temperatures rise, the ice sheets might melt faster, causing floods that flush out tons of toxic chemicals from our soil and bodies.

Others warn that this theory sounds like something out of a science-fiction movie.

How To

Hollywood scandals that shocked the globe

There's nothing more shocking than watching someone become famous for the wrong reasons. However, there is nothing worse than watching them fall from grace.

It is amazing to see how an industry handles its mistakes. There are many stories about celebrities who drank excessively. Some even died young because of it.

The worst thing is when these stars are made public about their problems and shunned. This is where we ended up last week.

Heath Ledger, after a long and successful professional career, finally gave in to his demons. He succumbed after taking too many prescription medications. After a brief struggle with death, he died.

His family and his friends struggled with the news and the media went after him.

Heath was once considered one of the most talented actors working today. His performance in Brokeback Mountain earned him two Academy Awards nominations.

Heath, in addition to acting, also wrote and directed films such as A Knight's Tale (Monster's Ball) and Iron Man (3).

Hollywood loved Heath. However, he quickly grew too large. He began using drugs and drinking heavily. Eventually, he went to rehab and came out clean.

Now that he was sober, he wanted to make amends. So he made a documentary called "Room 237," which chronicled the making of The Shining. It was originally scheduled to release this year, but it won’t be available in theaters until next.

Heath attempted to get into Hollywood every time. In fact, Heath was twice arrested on drug charges.

We are not suggesting that Heath should be allowed back into the show business. It would have been nice for him to have received some assistance before things spiraled outof control.

We hope Heath's story warns others who might think they can still have it all.
