Is there a Hollywood blacklist?
There is an Hollywood blacklist.
The list isn’t available for public viewing. We don't know the names. It matters because of this.
The secretive nature of the information is due to the fact that actors and directors on blacklist won't be in a position to find work. They would go out of business which would mean that studios would lose their money. They would also cut back on their spending on movies. Which would mean fewer opportunities for the blacklisted filmmakers. They could go bankrupt.
This could mean more victims.
If someone attempts to make an Oscar-winning movie, they may be asked to sign a contract stating that they will not speak out against their employers. Any director or producer who would like to be nominated for an award is subject to the same rules.
Producers often pressure directors to cut scenes from their films. Directors threaten to abandon projects that don’t conform to their vision.
This is the reason there is a Hollywood blacklist. If you speak negatively about your employer, you will likely be fired. And that's not good for anyone.
Many people have been wrongly accused. These people have had to fight to clear their names.
This is unacceptable behavior and must be stopped. Everybody should be able to freely express themselves.
So we need to take down the Hollywood blacklist.
Do you wonder how much trash is produced each day across the globe?
According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!
Most of this rubbish ends up in landfills or incinerators. But, what happens when those dumpsters fill up? Where does all that rubbish go?Well, most of it gets shipped out of the country. The rest is dumped abroad, where it pollutes other ecosystems. Now, we know the exact location of all this garbage. Mike Sexton is his name. He owns a company called Waste Watchers. He spends his time watching trucks hauling trash around North America. He then reports back about what happens next.
Sexton says he finds his job very satisfying. CNN asked Sexton if he thought it was a lot of fun. "You know, we see these big rigs come through town, and we'll follow them. "Sexton started following truck driver almost 20 years back.
He said, "I fell in love with it."
He loved the story of the driver who pulled into an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove down the road to see this building. He stopped and pulled up, then he went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. He took out everything and began to fill up the truck. He then looked around and decided to load everything. There were old tires and rags, furniture pieces, mattresses, mattresses and boxes. "It was just a total mess. It had been cleaned up before he arrived. There wasn’t trash everywhere."
Why did this happen? Well, the answer is that this particular location used to be part of a recycling center.People who learned about this facility would drive here to recycle their trash. Sexton explained, "They would bring their household goods and take them here," and they would then empty the containers.
You might see this happen hundreds of times a day. This could happen hundreds times per week. Finally, the truck stops running completely due to its excessive junk. The owner eventually abandons the vehicle.
However, trash is not the only problem on our planet.
Plastic pieces make up most of these particles. Some of these plastics end up in rivers or oceans.
Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. Experts warn, "If you keep going like you're going," we could soon face a global food shortage. But most people don't seem to be worried, even though scientists are unanimous in warning us that the world is heading towards disaster.
Why are actors blacklisted?
If you are an actor, you will get more rejection than if you are a writer. An actor will probably be rejected quite often. You will find someone who loves and accepts you eventually.
Actors are usually very talented, meaning they can make a living almost anywhere. But most actors don't want to make a lot of money. Actors love to act and tell stories. You'll be an actor if you love acting.
Even worse, you might be told you are too young or too old to play the part. You might also lose your audition for a film role. It happens all the times.
You may be criticised once your casting is complete. Some people will say that you look awful or shouldn't wear makeup. If you're lucky, you won't even hear negative comments.
Sometimes, you might be criticised for playing a role that isn’t authentic or realistic. You might play a gay man and everyone assumes that you are straight. Maybe you are a woman who is tough but cries often.
Sometimes they might ask you to change how you speak. Sometimes they ask you to sound like either a boy or a girl. They want you to sound better most of the time.
It is best to ignore these criticisms. Actors often feel that they've failed if they are told they did something wrong. However, they aren't doing anything wrong.
They weren't born with a talent that made them famous. They may not fit the bill sometimes, no mater how hard they try.
Blacklisting an actor could be for many reasons. Some people don't like actors. Others feel that actors are lazy. Others still believe that actors cheat.
It doesn't matter what reason it may be, you won’t be banned if you keep trying. There are plenty of roles out there, and you'll find them.
If you persevere, you will eventually succeed.

Hollywood scandals that shocked the world
There's nothing more shocking than watching someone become famous for the wrong reasons. But there's also nothing worse than seeing them fall from grace.
The best thing about watching how an industry reacts when it makes mistakes is the best part. Many celebrities have used alcohol and drugs in excess. Some even died young because of it.
The worst thing is when these stars are made public about their problems and shunned. That's where we found ourselves last week.
Heath Ledger died after a long, successful career. He died after succumbing to prescription drugs.
His family and close friends had difficulty accepting his death. The media took to him publically.
Heath was once considered to be one of today's most talented actors. He was nominated for two Academy Awards for his performance in Brokeback Mountain.
Heath, in addition to acting, also wrote and directed films such as A Knight's Tale (Monster's Ball) and Iron Man (3).
Hollywood loved Heath but he grew too large for his boots. He became addicted to drugs and drank heavily. He eventually went to rehab and was clean.
Now that he was sober, he wanted to make amends. He made a documentary called "Room 237," that chronicled the making and release of The Shining. It was supposed to be released this year, but now it won't hit theaters until next year.
Heath tried unsuccessfully to get into Hollywood again, but nothing happened. In fact, Heath was twice arrested on drug charges.
We are not suggesting that Heath should be allowed back into the show business. It would have been nice, however, if he had received some help before things got out of control.
We hope Heath’s story serves as a cautionary tale for others who think they might still be able to have it all.
