FAQ

What dark secrets can Hollywood keep from you?

Hollywood is filled with secret societies. Some are cult-like groups where members follow strict rules and rituals, while others are simply clubs for those who share common interests.

But there are also more nefarious organizations that control much of the industry. Companies such as the MPAA, which determines film ratings, or the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), that set music licensing fees, are examples of these.

Numerous unions, guilds, and associations represent actors, writers, producers, editors, and other creative professionals. Most major movie studios and television networks are owned by large corporations which own these various organizations.

It doesn't matter how secretive a group might seem, someone somewhere knows what they are doing. We shouldn't fear these people.

Instead, embrace them. Because they can help us make better decisions.

These people tell us what movies and songs will succeed, and which books will sell best.

These help us to decide what we'll watch, read, listen, and buy.

We can trust their advice and we can ignore it if it contradicts our values.

They become more powerful because we choose to ignore them. They become the ultimate arbiters of taste.

And if you don't like what they say, you're free to ignore them.

Let's now take a look into some lesser-known but very real Hollywood secret societies.

Observe why they are important.

Is there a more mysterious place than the Earth itself?

Antarctica is considered the most mysterious area on Earth.

This is why we find it so captivating. It is unlike any other place on Earth.

It is difficult to access because it is remote and extremely isolated. But there is more to this site than meets the eye.

This natural wonder is also home to some of the strangest wildlife species.

So let's explore how this remarkable destination became famous for its mystery.

Antarctica: The South Pole

Antarctica is named for no one. Some believe it means "land of ice." Others believe it comes from Greek mythology.

In ancient Greece, Antarktis was the name given to the island where Zeus' twin brothers were born. According to legend, one of the twins was born in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.

Others believe that it is the Greek word anti, which means against, and tropos, which refers to turning. This would be land turned away form the sun.

Whatever the reason Antarctica has held a special fascination for people, it is undeniable.

It is the driest, windiest of all continents. It is too cold to support trees, plants, and animals.

This frozen wasteland is still alive.

About 90 percent of all living things on Earth live here. You can find approximately half the world's species of animal and plant plants here.

And what makes Antarctica such a unique environment? Here, water freezes and becomes ice instead of evaporated into the air.

This causes large amounts of ice to float above ground.

These floating glaciers cover 80% of the continent. They are growing in size every year.

So far, the Antarctic ice sheet has grown 60 feet since 1960.

If the melting continues, the sea level will rise by up to 200 feet. That could cause massive flooding around the globe.

However, not all scientists believe this to be bad news. Global warming may be beneficial for some scientists. They suggest that rising temperatures could cause ice sheet melt faster, leading to floods that flush out toxic chemicals from soil and bodies.

Others cautioned that this theory sounds too science fiction.

What is the most intriguing fact about the human anatomy?

There are two eyes, two ears. Two nostrils. Four limbs. A mouth, nose and penis. You're correct, there are more than 50 parts in our bodies. But, one thing is missing. The heart.

A heart is a pump that circulates blood throughout the body. Blood travels through the arteries and veins, carrying oxygen and nutrients to the cells and removing carbon dioxide and waste products.

The heart pumps out about 5 liters per minute. This is equivalent of an adult drinking 2 to 3 cups of coffee each day.

The heart pumps blood 24 hours a days, 365 days per year. While sleeping, your heart beats close to 100 times per minute.

Because of the color and texture of their skin, you can tell if someone is healthy or sick. Looking closely at the skin's surface, you can see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These tiny vessels transport blood from the larger blood vessels to the heart. When blood flow is blocked, the skin turns blue or purple.

People with sickle cells lack red blood cell. Their blood becomes very sticky and hardened, leading to serious illness.

Bandages are used to stop bleeding after you have cut yourself. Blood must flow in order for the wound to heal properly. To do this, doctors will insert a needle through your skin into the vein adjacent to the injury. This allows blood flow to the area that has been injured.

The doctor may also insert catheters (catheters), into the artery at the site of the blood clot. This keeps patients alive until the clot has broken up naturally.

Which is the most secretive city in the world?

You might be surprised at the answer. This may make you feel uncomfortable as it challenges your perception of reality and the way we live. But there is a reason that this place exists. It isn't what you would expect.

It was also called the City of God in ancient Greek. It was called the City of Destruction by the Bible.

It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). It is called Novgorod (Russia).

Here in America, however, it is called The Village That Disappeared.

One small community in western New York State with 1,200 residents vanished without a trace. No bodies, cars, houses, nothing was left behind except a road sign pointing to its former location.

The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some believe it was swallowed by the earth. Some claim it was destroyed by a meteorite impact. Others believe that aliens took it.

Despite what may have happened, the people who lived in this once-thriving area are confident that their town will not be lost forever. They had just moved from one town to the other.

A website is available to track the disappearance and recovery of Zugspitz, which was lost in the Great Depression.

So where is this town? It's in Switzerland.

You can find Zugspitze at the border of Austria and Germany. The lake Lake Zugspitze is just beyond the mountain's summit.

It has always fascinated my that so many towns have disappeared but others still exist. Is it possible that some towns disappear and others are preserved? I decided to investigate.

I was curious about the disappearing towns. What causes a town to disappear? What makes a place disappear?

It turned out that there are many theories about disappearing towns. One theory says that a town disappears when all the buildings are demolished. Another theory says that the town just moves. The third theory is that the town was never actually there.

The fact is that hundreds of towns all over the world have been swept away by the ground, despite theories to the contrary. This video explores the history of these towns and examines their current state.
