FAQ

What is the most mysterious area on earth?

Antarctica is the most mysterious continent on Earth.

What is it that makes this place so interesting? Because it is unlike any place on Earth.

It is remote, isolated, and extremely difficult to visit. It is not what you see.

This natural wonder is also home to some of the strangest wildlife species.

Let's find out how this mysterious destination became so famous.

Antarctica: The South Pole

Antarctica is named for no one. Some say it means "land on ice." Others think it comes from Greek mythology.

Antarktis was an ancient Greek name that was given to the island where Zeus and his twin brothers, Zeus. According to legend, one of the twins was born in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.

Others believe that the name is a combination of the Greek words anti and tropos which mean against and turn. This would mean that the land was turned away by the sun.

Whatever the reason, Antarctica has always held a special fascination for people.

It is also the lowest, windiest continent, driest, and highest. Because it is so cold, there aren't any trees, plants or animals.

And yet, this frozen wasteland is teeming with life.

It houses approximately 90% of all Earth's living organisms. About 50% of the world's plant and animal species can be found here.

What is it that makes Antarctica so unique? Here, water freezes in ice rather that vaporizing into the atmosphere.

This causes large ice masses to rise above the ground.

These floating glaciers make up 80%. And they're growing larger every year.

The Antarctic ice has grown 60 feet so far since 1960.

If the melting continues, the sea level will rise by up to 200 feet. It could result in massive flooding all over the world.

However, not all scientists believe this to be bad news. Some scientists believe that global warming can be beneficial. According to scientists, global warming could be good for us because the melting of the ice sheets will accelerate, which can lead to floods that release toxic chemicals into our soil and bodies.

Others warn that this theory sounds like something out of a science-fiction movie.

Did you know that there are approximately 1.6 billion metric tons of trash produced every day in the world?

According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!

The majority of this garbage ends up in incinerators or landfills. But what happens when the dumpsters become full? It goes to the United States, where most of it is exported. It then gets dumped in foreign countries, polluting their ecosystems. However, now we know where all that trash goes. Mike Sexton is his real name. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.

Sexton says he finds his job very satisfying. CNN asked Sexton if he thought it was a lot of fun. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton began following truckers almost 20 year ago.

"It's all I felt," he stated.

Sexton loved the story about the driver who pulled over at an abandoned gas station close to Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove down the road to see this building. He pulled over and went in. "There were 2 large containers that had been rolled off, and they were full of stuff. He took out everything and began to fill up the truck. "The man looked around the area and decided to unload all of it. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. It was a complete mess. But it had been cleaned out before he came along. There wasn't any trash anywhere."

This begs the question: Why? It's because this area used to be a recycle center. People would drive from all over the country to recycle their trash. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.

This can happen hundreds of times a week. This can happen hundreds of times a week.Eventually, the truck becomes so overloaded with junk that it stops running. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.

Trash isn’t the only problem we face on the planet.

The majority of these particles are made of small pieces of plastic. Some end up in rivers and oceans, while others end up in fish's stomachs.

Experts warn us that we may soon face an international food shortage if things don't change. Experts warn that "if we keep going the way we are, we're not going make it," although scientists agree that the world is heading toward disaster. Most people, however, don't seem to be concerned.

Is there a Hollywood blacklist of actors?

There is a Hollywood blacklist.

The list is not made public. The names are not known to us. But here's why it matters.

The secret is because the directors and actors on blacklist wouldn't have any job opportunities. Thus, they would leave the industry and studios will lose money. Which means they'd cut back on spending money on movies. The blacklisted filmmakers would have fewer chances. Which would lead them to go bankrupt.

This could result in even more victims.

In short, when someone tries to make an oscar winning movie, they might be asked to sign a contract saying they won't speak publicly against their employers. This applies to any producer or director who wishes to be nominated.

Producers often pressure directors to cut scenes from their films. Or how directors threaten to walk away from projects that don't fit their vision.

This is the reason there is a Hollywood blacklist. You'll likely become unemployed if you say bad things about your employer. This is not good news for anyone.

Problem is, many people have been falsely charged. And they've had to fight to clear their name.

We need to stop this kind of thing before it starts happening again. We need to ensure everyone has the right of expression.

We must get rid of the Hollywood blacklist.

What dark secrets can Hollywood keep from you?

Hollywood is full secret societies. Many secret societies are cult-like and follow rigid rules. Others are just clubs for people with common interests.

However, there are many other criminal organizations that hold much of the industry's power. There are companies like the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), who sets film ratings and the RIAA, which sets music licensing fees.

Numerous unions, guilds, and associations represent actors, writers, producers, editors, and other creative professionals. Most major movie studios and television networks are owned by large corporations which own these various organizations.

The point is that no matter how secretive any group may seem, someone somewhere knows exactly what they do. We shouldn't fear these people.

Instead, we should embrace these facts. Because they offer us information that can help us make better decision.

They can tell us which movies and songs are likely to be successful, as well as what books and novels will be most popular.

These help us to decide what we'll watch, read, listen, and buy.

We can trust them and can disregard their advice if it is not in line with our preferences.

They become more powerful because we choose to ignore them. They become the ultimate arbiters of taste.

If you don't like their words, you can choose to ignore them.

Let's now look at some lesser-known, but still very real Hollywood secret organizations.

You'll see why they are so important.
