I wanted more information about the mysterious disappearing of towns. Is it possible for a place to vanish? What makes a place disappear?
It turns out that there are several theories about the phenomenon of vanishing towns. One theory holds that a town disappears if all its buildings are demolished. Another theory holds that the town simply relocates to another location. A third theory claims that the town never existed at all.
Theories aside, the fact remains that dozens of towns around the globe have been swallowed up by the ground. This video looks into the history of those places and investigates their current status.

He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back to us on what happens next.
Sexton stated that he finds the job very satisfying. "We've got a lot of fun," he told CNN. "We see these big trucks coming through town, so we'll keep following them. "Sexton began to follow truck drivers around 20 years ago.
"It's all I felt," he stated.
Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. Sexton said that the man was searching for a place to store his stuff. "He saw the building as he drove down the road. So he backed up and went inside. "There were two large roll-off containers full of stuff. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. "Then, he took everything out and started filling up the truck again. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was a complete mess. But it was cleaned out before he came. There wasn't any trash."
So why did this happen? Well, the answer is that this particular location used to be part of a recycling center.People who learned about this facility would drive here to recycle their trash. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained.And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.
You might see this happen hundreds of times a day. This can happen hundreds of times a week.Eventually, the truck becomes so overloaded with junk that it stops running. The owner finally decides to stop using the truck.
