FAQ

How does the brain control the functions of your body?

To ensure that they work together, messages are sent by the brain to other organs. Your brain controls all that happens in your body. It tells you your stomach to digest food; your lungs to inhale air; and it tells you your arms and legs how to move.

Your brain consists of billions of nerve cells connected in groups called neurons. Action potentials, which are electrical signals sent by neurons to each other via axons, allow them to communicate with one another. Each neuron has its own cell membrane around its nucleus. Channels within the membrane allow ions such potassium and sodium to enter and leave the cells. Ion movement is what causes the neurons to fire.

When a neuron is activated, neurotransmitters release chemicals into the space between it and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters attach to the receptors of the second neuron and open ions channels for ions to pass in and out. The second neuron also fires.

When another neuron sends an impulse to the presynaptic neural cell, neurotransmitter is released. The impulse travels along an synapse between the neurons. The transmitter binds to the receptors on the postsynaptic neural cell, which triggers the firing of that neuron.

Neurotransmitters are important for communication within the nervous system. They coordinate brain activity among different parts.

Why are actors blacklisted?

An actor is more likely to get rejected than a writer. If you're an actor, you'll probably get rejected a lot. You will find someone who loves and accepts you eventually.

Actors are usually very talented, meaning they can make a living almost anywhere. But most actors don't want to make a lot of money. Actors love acting, and love telling stories. Actors are likely to be outspoken.

Even worse, you might be told you are too young or too old to play the part. Or, you could lose out on a role in a movie. It happens all the time.

Once you've been cast you might also be subject to criticism. People may tell you that your makeup looks terrible and you shouldn't use it. If you're lucky, you won't even hear negative comments.

Sometimes, your performance as a fictional character can be ridiculed. Maybe you play a gay man, and everyone thinks you're straight. Or maybe you play a woman who is supposed to be tough, but she cries a lot.

Maybe you are asked to change your vocal chords. Sometimes, they want you to sound more like a man or a woman. They want you to sound better most of the time.

These criticisms should be ignored. Actors feel like they've failed when told they did wrong. The truth is they haven’t done anything wrong.

They just weren't born with the talent that made them famous. They don't always fit the bill, no matter how hard they try.

There are lots of reasons why an actor could get blacklisted. Some people don't like actors. Some people think actors are lazy. Still, others say that actors are cheaters.

No matter what the reason, you won't be blacklisted if your persistence persists. There are many roles available, and you will find them.

You will eventually succeed if you keep trying.

What is the most secretive town in the world?

The answer may shock you. It might even make you uncomfortable because it challenges our perception of reality and how we live. However, there's a reason for this place to exist. It's not what we would expect.

It was also called the City of God in ancient Greek. In the Bible, it was known as the City of Destruction.

It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). It's known in Russia as Novgorod.

It's called The Town That Has Disappeared here in America.

A small town in western New York State, with a population of 1,200, vanished without a trace. With the exception of a road marker pointing to its former site, there were no remains: cars, bodies, houses.

The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some say it was swallowed up by the Earth. Others believe it was destroyed by a meteorite. Others claim it was taken away by aliens.

Whatever happened, the residents of this once-thriving community are convinced that their town isn't gone forever. They had just moved from one town to the other.

There's even a website that tracks the disappearances and recoveries of Zugspitz.

The question is, where did this place go? Well, it's in Switzerland!

Zugspitze is situated on the border between Germany und Austria. Lake Zugspitze lies just above the summit of the mountain.

It has always fascinated me that so many towns have disappeared, yet some still remain. Is it possible that some towns disappear and others are preserved? I decided that I would investigate.

I wanted to know more about the mysterious disappearing towns. What causes a town to disappear? How can one place become extinct?

It turned out that there are many theories about disappearing towns. One theory holds that a town disappears if all its buildings are demolished. Another theory states that the town simply moves to another location. Another theory suggests that the town has never existed.

Theories aside, the fact remains that dozens of towns around the globe have been swallowed up by the ground. This video looks into the history of those places and investigates their current status.

Did you know that there are approximately 1.6 billion metric tons of trash produced every day in the world?

The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!

Many of this trash ends in landfill dumps, or incinerators. But what happens if those dumpsters are full? The majority of this rubbish is sent out of the country. It is then dumped in other countries, where it pollutes their ecosystems. But now, thanks to the work of one man, we know exactly where all this trash goes. His name is Mike Sexton. He is the owner of Waste Watchers. His job involves monitoring the movements and routes of trash trucks across North America. Then he reports back to us about what happens next.

Sexton said he enjoys his job. "We've got a lot of fun," he told CNN. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.

"It's all I felt," he stated.

Sexton loved the story about the driver who pulled over at an abandoned gas station close to Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove down the road to see this building. He pulled over and went in. "There were two huge roll-off containers there filled with stuff. The guy took everything out and started filling up the truck again. "Then he looked at the place and decided to unload everything. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just an absolute mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There was not a single piece of trash.

What is the explanation? It's because this area used to be a recycle center. People would drive from all over the country to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that people would bring home their household items, and then take them to the building. After they were done, they would dispose of the empty containers.

This could happen hundreds of time per week. The truck can be stopped running if it is so full of junk that it has to come back hundreds of times per week. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.

Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.

These tiny plastic particles make up the majority of the particles. Some end up in incinerators or landfills. Others get washed into rivers or oceans. And when they reach the ocean, they often end up in the stomachs of fish.

Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. "If we keep going like we're going, we're not going to make it," one expert warned. But even though scientists agree that the world is headed toward disaster, most people don't seem worried.
