The Book Club With Crazy Science Facts, Spooky, And Creepy

creepy facts about life

Despite the fact that the title of my snobbish book club is currently occupied by an egregiously misguided slacker, I've found that he is more than capable of stifling my naysayer in the bud. Therefore, he is my nominee for the naysayer-of-the-year award. The above-mentioned slacker is sure to be a happy camper. The above-mentioned slacker may not be the only one in town. However, if you are a slacker in a bad mood and enjoy a good time, that's another story. This slacker is currently in bad mood and is therefore a prime candidate for the Good Old Time Slacker of Year award.

FAQ

Which is the most mysterious spot on Earth?

Antarctica is home to the most mysterious and remote place on Earth.

Why do we find this place so intriguing? Because it is unlike anything else on Earth.

It is difficult to access because it is remote and extremely isolated. However, there's more to this location than meets the eye.

You will also find some of the oddest wildlife species in this natural wonder.

Let's see how this incredible destination became famous for its mystery.

Antarctica: The South Pole

Antarctica is named for no one. Some say it means "land on ice." Others believe it comes from Greek mythology.

In ancient Greece, Antarktis was the name given to the island where Zeus' twin brothers were born. According to one source, one of the twins was conceived in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.

Others believe that it is the Greek word anti, which means against, and tropos, which refers to turning. This would translate to land that is turned away from the sun.

Whatever the reason Antarctica has held a special fascination for people, it is undeniable.

It is the continent with the lowest, windiest and highest temperatures. It is too cold to support trees, plants, and animals.

This frozen wasteland is still alive.

It is home to approximately 90 percent of all life on Earth. Here are approximately 50% of all the animal and plant species in the world.

What makes Antarctica so special? Here, water freezes and becomes ice instead of evaporated into the air.

This creates large masses of ice that float above the ground.

These glaciers cover more than 80% of the continent. They're getting bigger every year.

Since 1960, the Antarctic ice sheets has grown 60ft.

The sea level will rise up to 200 feet if melting continues. That could cause massive flooding around the globe.

This is not necessarily bad news. Some scientists suggest that global warming could actually be good for us. They claim that the melting of ice sheets could accelerate as temperatures rise. This would lead to flooding that removes tons of toxic chemicals and soil from our bodies.

Others, however, warn that this theory sounds almost like a plot for a science fiction film.

Is there any Hollywood blacklist for actors?

There is an Hollywood blacklist.

But, the list has not been made public. We don't know the names. But, here's why it matters.

The secret is because the directors and actors on blacklist wouldn't have any job opportunities. They would go out of business which would mean that studios would lose their money. Which means they'd cut back on spending money on movies. Which would mean fewer opportunities for the blacklisted filmmakers. They could go bankrupt.

This could result in even more victims.

When someone tries making an Oscar winning movie they might be asked for a contract. This means that they can't publicly criticize their employer. This applies to any producer or director who wishes to be nominated.

This is why you'll hear about directors being pressured by producers to take scenes out of their films. Directors might threaten to leave projects that don't reflect their vision.

This is why Hollywood keeps a blacklist. Negative comments about your employer will most likely lead to you being unemployed. That's bad for everyone.

The problem is that many people have been falsely accused. They've had the toil to clear their name.

This is unacceptable behavior and must be stopped. It is essential that everyone has the freedom to express their opinions.

Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the Hollywood blacklist.

Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?

According to the United Nations the average person creates more than 2.5 lbs of waste daily. That adds up over 25 billion kilos of garbage every year.

Most of the trash ends up at incinerators and landfills. But, what happens to those dumpsters? It goes to the United States, where most of it is exported. The trash is then sent out of the country and dumped in countries where it pollutes ecosystems. But, one man has now discovered exactly where this rubbish goes. His name is Mike Sexton. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. Then he reports back to us about what happens next.

Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We see these big trucks coming through town, so we'll keep following them. "Sexton began to follow truck drivers around 20 years ago.

He stated that he fell in love with the product.

He loved the story of the driver who pulled into an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove down the street and saw this building. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two huge roll-off containers there filled with stuff. The man took all the stuff out and filled up his truck with more. "Then he looked at the place and decided to unload everything. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just total chaos. It had been cleaned up before he arrived. There wasn’t trash everywhere."

This is the reason why it happened. It is because the location used to belong to a recycling centre. People who found out about this facility would drive to it to recycle their trash. Sexton explained, "They would bring their household goods and take them here," and they would then empty the containers.

You might see this happen hundreds of times a day. This could happen hundreds times per week. Finally, the truck stops running completely due to its excessive junk. The owner finally decides to stop using the truck.

But, this isn't the only problem that our planet is facing.

Plastic pieces make up most of these particles. Others get washed into rivers or oceans. And when they reach the ocean, they often end up in the stomachs of fish.

Experts say if nothing changes, we could soon face a global food shortage. One expert said, "If we keep going as we are going, we're never going to make it," but most people don’t seem concerned.
