FAQ

What is one of the most amazing facts about the human body

There are two eyes, two ears. Two nostrils. Four limbs. A mouth, nose and penis. You're correct, there are more than 50 parts in our bodies. But, one thing is missing. The heart.

The heart is a pump that circulates blood throughout your body. Blood travels through the arteries and veins, carrying oxygen and nutrients to the cells and removing carbon dioxide and waste products.

Each minute, the heart pumps 5 liters of blood. This is equivalent in daily coffee consumption to an adult who consumes approximately 2 to 3 cups.

The heart pumps blood 24 hours a days, 365 days per year. Your heart beats nearly 100 times a minute while sleeping.

Because of the color and texture of their skin, you can tell if someone is healthy or sick. If you examine the skin closely, you will see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These tiny vessels transport blood from the larger blood vessels to the heart. The skin turns purple or blue when there is a blockage in blood flow.

People suffering from sickle cell disease have no red blood cells. Their blood becomes very sticky and hardened, leading to serious illness.

To stop bleeding from a cut, you can apply a bandage to the wound. Blood must flow in order for the wound to heal properly. Doctors place a needle in the wound and insert it through the skin. This allows blood drainage from the injury area.

Doctors also insert tubes (catheters) into the artery near the site where the blood clot forms. This helps to keep the patient alive until the blood clot disintegrates naturally.

What is the most mysterious area on earth?

Antarctica is the world's most mysterious place on Earth.

Why is this place so amazing? Because it is unlike anything else on Earth.

It is very remote and isolated. It is not what you see.

This natural wonder is also home to some of the strangest wildlife species.

Let's find out how this mysterious destination became so famous.

Antarctica, The South Pole

No one knows exactly why Antarctica was named Antarctica. Others believe it means "land with ice". Others believe it comes from Greek mythology.

Antarktis in ancient Greece was the name given the island where Zeus' twin brother brothers were born. One of the twins was said to have been born in winter. This is why the word "antarctic" was chosen.

Others believe that the name is a combination of the Greek words anti and tropos which mean against and turn. This would mean land turned away from the sun.

Whatever the reason Antarctica holds a special fascination, people have always loved it.

It is the highest, coldest, windiest, dryest, and most populated continent. Because it is too frigid, there are no trees, animals, or plants.

Yet, life is abundant in this frozen wilderness.

About 90 percent of all living things on Earth live here. Here are approximately 50% of all the animal and plant species in the world.

What is Antarctica? Here water freezes to ice and not evaporates into the atmosphere.

This causes large masses to form of ice which float high above the ground.

These floating glaciers make up 80%. These glaciers are getting larger each year.

So far, the Antarctic ice sheet has grown 60 feet since 1960.

If the melting goes on, the sea level may rise by as much as 200 feet. This could lead worldwide flooding.

This does not mean that everyone is wrong. Some scientists believe that global warming can be beneficial. According to scientists, global warming could be good for us because the melting of the ice sheets will accelerate, which can lead to floods that release toxic chemicals into our soil and bodies.

Others, however, warn that this theory sounds almost like a plot for a science fiction film.

How does your brain control the functions within your body?

The brain communicates with other organs to ensure their cooperation. Your brain controls all that happens in your body. It tells your stomach how to digest food and your lungs how to inhale oxygen; it also tells your arms, legs and feet to move.

Your brain is made up billions of nerve cell networks connected in groups known as neurons. Action potentials are electrical signals that neurons send to one another. Every neuron has an outer cell membrane that surrounds its nucleus. The membrane contains channels that allow ions like sodium and potassium to enter the cell and leave it. The electric charge that causes the neuron's fire is created by ion movement.

Neurotransmitters are chemicals released when a neuron fires. Neurotransmitters bind with receptors on the second nerve cell, opening ion channel channels to allow ions in and out. As a result, the second neuron fires too.

When a presynaptic nerve receives an impulse, neurotransmitter release takes place. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds directly to the receptors in the postsynaptic nervous neuron, and triggers the firing.

Neurotransmitters are important for communication within the nervous system. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.

Have you ever wondered how much trash is produced worldwide each day?

According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!

Most of this rubbish ends up in landfills or incinerators. But, what happens when those dumpsters fill up? It goes to the United States, where most of it is exported. It is then shipped out and dumped in other countries. This pollutes the ecosystems. But now we know, thanks to one man. Mike Sexton is his full name. He is the owner of Waste Watchers. His job involves monitoring the movements and routes of trash trucks across North America. He then gives us a report on what happens next.

Sexton stated that he finds the job very satisfying. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We see big rigs coming through town and we'll follow them. "Sexton began following truckers almost 20 year ago.

He said, "I fell in love with it."

Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He saw the building as he drove down the road. He backed up and entered the building. "There were two large roll-off containers full of stuff. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just total chaos. It had been cleaned up before he arrived. There wasn’t trash everywhere."

This begs the question: Why? It's because this area used to be a recycle center. People would drive from all over the country to recycle their trash. Sexton said that people would bring their household items to the building and then leave empty containers behind.

This can happen hundreds of times a week. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.

Trash isn’t the only problem we face on the planet.

Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Others end up in rivers, oceans or the stomachss of fish.

Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. Experts warn that "if we keep going the way we are, we're not going make it," although scientists agree that the world is heading toward disaster. Most people, however, don't seem to be concerned.
