Strange and bizarre human facts

facts about death

Among the many bizarre functions of our bodies, there are some that are just plain scary. Let's now look at some more unusual and obscure functions within the human body.

The human heart is capable of beating out a whopping 100,000 times a day. While this might seem small, it is a significant number. It can also squirt water 30 feet away.

The human eye contains more than five hundred million pixels. This is more than half the size of an average cell phone. A human eye can also grow as large as a football, thanks to the cilia that cling to the eyeball.

The light that the human eye produces can be enough to illuminate small spaces. There are about 100,000 miles of blood vessels throughout the human body. These arteries carry oxygen through the bloodstream to the tissues.

spooky historical facts

Another system known as the "diving reaction" shuts down certain bodily function when we are submerged under water. The pupil expands by 45% when we see something good.

We also have an appendix. This organ is capable of becoming infected if left unchecked. It's possible to get rid of as much as 80% if the liver is not cleaned up.

The human body is a marvellous place. It is rich in enough fat to make seven bars worth of soap. It is home to many millions of bacteria. The skin is the largest organ of the body and is oily and hairy. It also contains more than one thousand types of bacteria.

The human body is capable of doing many other mundane and bizarre tasks. The ominous is one example. We can blink 10 million time per year. The mouth also has a lot of things happening. Besides the obvious functions, you also swallow and breathe.

The toilet is also there. Besides being the largest and most important part of the bathroom, the toilet is also the main source of reading material in the average home. An average person consumes 20,000 gallons of drinking water in their lifetime.

horror facts in the world

In addition to the obvious, there is also a "sneezing” function in the human body. Sneezing too hard can actually fracture a rib. Over 8,000 taste senses reside in the human nose. More than one hundred taste buds are found in the tongue.

The human brain produces more than enough energy to power a light bulb. The human body can also produce 350,000 Joules of energy an hour, if you don’t include the ovaries. This is more than enough to make a light bulb blink its eyes.

Some other fascinating facts about human bodies include our "diving", reflex, eyes being the largest organ of our bodies and the fact that our bodies can fly. There are also more cars than people on the roads. However, there are more crayfish than people in the ocean so it is safe to say that our bodies are much more impressive than we think.

FAQ

Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?

According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!

Many of this trash ends in landfill dumps, or incinerators. But what happens if those dumpsters are full? The majority of this rubbish is sent out of the country. It is then dumped in other countries, where it pollutes their ecosystems. But now, thanks to the work of one man, we know exactly where all this trash goes. Mike Sexton is his full name. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then gives us a report on what happens next.

Sexton claims he is very satisfied with his job. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We'll be following these big rigs through town. "Sexton began following truckers almost 20 year ago.

He said, "I fell in love with it."

Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. Sexton said that the man was searching for a place to store his stuff. "He drove down the road to see this building. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two large roll-off containers full of stuff. The man got everything out of the truck and began filling it up again. He then looked around and decided to load everything. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just total chaos. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There wasn’t trash everywhere."

This begs the question: Why? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. Sexton explained, "They would bring their household goods and take them here," and they would then empty the containers.

This could happen hundreds of time per week. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.

Trash isn’t the only problem we face on the planet.

Many of these tiny plastic pieces end up in landfills and incinerators. Others get washed into rivers or oceans. And when they reach the ocean, they often end up in the stomachs of fish.

Experts warn that the world may soon face a shortage of food if we don't make any changes. Experts warn that "if we keep going the way we are, we're not going make it," although scientists agree that the world is heading toward disaster. Most people, however, don't seem to be concerned.

Is there a more mysterious place than the Earth itself?

Antarctica is the world's most mysterious place on Earth.

This is why we find it so captivating. Because it is unlike any other spot on Earth.

It is remote, isolated, and extremely difficult to visit. It is not what you see.

You will also find some of the oddest wildlife species in this natural wonder.

Let's look at how this extraordinary destination became so mysterious.

Antarctica: The South Pole

No one knows exactly why Antarctica was named Antarctica. Some believe it means "land of ice." Others believe it comes from Greek mythology.

Antarktis is the name Antarktis was given to an island in ancient Greece by Zeus' twin brothers. According to some legends, one of these twins was born in winter. Hence, the word antarctic.

Others believe that the name comes from the Greek words anti meaning against and tropos meaning to turn. This would mean that the land was turned away by the sun.

Whatever the reason, Antarctica has always held a special fascination for people.

It is the continent with the lowest, windiest and highest temperatures. There are no trees, plants, or animals here because it is too cold.

This frozen wasteland is still alive.

Here are about 90% of all the living creatures on Earth. It is home to approximately half of all world's animal and plant species.

What is it that makes Antarctica so unique? Here, water freezes in ice rather that vaporizing into the atmosphere.

This creates large masses of ice that float above the ground.

These floating glaciers make up 80%. They are growing in size every year.

So far, the Antarctic ice sheet has grown 60 feet since 1960.

If the melting continues, sea level could rise up to 200ft. That could cause massive flooding around the globe.

This does not mean that everyone is wrong. Some scientists suggest that global warming could actually be good for us. They claim that the melting of ice sheets could accelerate as temperatures rise. This would lead to flooding that removes tons of toxic chemicals and soil from our bodies.

Others cautioned that this theory sounds too science fiction.

Is there a Hollywood blacklist.

There is a Hollywood blacklist.

But, the list has not been made public. As far as we are aware, the names are not even known. It matters because of this.

The secretive nature of the information is due to the fact that actors and directors on blacklist won't be in a position to find work. Thus, they would leave the industry and studios will lose money. Which means they'd cut back on spending money on movies. This would lead to fewer opportunities and less money for blacklisted directors. They could go bankrupt.

This could mean more victims.

When someone tries making an Oscar winning movie they might be asked for a contract. This means that they can't publicly criticize their employer. The same goes for any director or producer who wants to get nominated for an award.

This is why you'll hear about directors being pressured by producers to take scenes out of their films. Or directors threaten to walk out of projects that don’t match their vision.

This is the reason there is a Hollywood blacklist. If you speak negatively about your employer, you will likely be fired. It's not good for anyone.

Many people have been wrongly accused. And they've had to fight to clear their name.

This must be stopped before it happens again. It is essential that everyone has the freedom to express their opinions.

So we need to take down the Hollywood blacklist.

How does the brain regulate the functions of the body?

To ensure that they work together, messages are sent by the brain to other organs. Your body's functions are controlled by your brain. It tells the stomach to digest food, and the lungs to breath air. It also tells your legs and arms to move.

Your brain is made of billions, or neurons, of nerve cells. Action potentials on Axons are an electrical signal that neurons send to each other. Every neuron has an outer cell membrane that surrounds its nucleus. The membrane contains channels that allow ions like sodium and potassium to enter the cell and leave it. Ion movement is what causes the neurons to fire.

When a neuron fires, chemicals called neurotransmitters are released into the space between the neuron and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters bind with receptors on the second nerve cell, opening ion channel channels to allow ions in and out. As a result, the second neuron fires too.

When a presynaptic nerve receives an impulse, neurotransmitter release takes place. The impulse travels along the synapse connecting the two neurons. The transmitter binds with the receptors of the postsynaptic nerve, activating the firing of the postsynaptic neurons.

Communication within the nervous system is possible thanks to neurotransmitters. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.
