FAQ
Is there an Hollywood blacklist?
There is a Hollywood blacklist.
But, the list has not been made public. We don't know the names. But, here's why it matters.
The reason for the secrecy is that the blacklisted actors and directors wouldn't be able to find jobs. So they'd go out of business, which means that the studios would lose money. It would mean they would reduce their expenditure on movies. Which would mean fewer opportunities for the blacklisted filmmakers. They could go bankrupt.
This could result in even more victims.
In other words, if someone is trying to make an Oscar winning movie, they might have to sign a contract that says they won't speak openly against their employers. Any director or producer who would like to be nominated for an award is subject to the same rules.
You hear stories of directors being pressured to remove scenes from films. Or directors threaten to walk out of projects that don’t match their vision.
This is why Hollywood has created a blacklist. If you make negative comments about your employer, it's likely that you will be unemployed. And that's not good for anyone.
It is not uncommon for people to be falsely accused. They have had to fight for their freedom.
This must be stopped before it happens again. We need to ensure everyone has the right of expression.
Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the Hollywood blacklist.
Have you ever wondered how much trash is produced worldwide each day?
According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!
Most of this trash ends up in landfill dumps or incinerators. But what happens when those dumpsters get full? All that trash ends up being shipped out of country. It is then shipped out and dumped in other countries. This pollutes the ecosystems. But now we know, thanks to one man. Mike Sexton is his name. He runs a company called Waste Watchers. He spends his days watching the movements of trucks transporting trash across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.
Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "You know, we see these big rigs come through town, and we'll follow them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.
"I just fell in love with it," he said.
Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove down the road and saw this building. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. The guy took everything out and started filling up the truck again. "The man looked around the area and decided to unload all of it. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just an absolute mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There was not a single piece of trash.
So why did this happen? Well, the answer is that this particular location used to be part of a recycling center.People who learned about this facility would drive here to recycle their trash. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.
It can happen hundreds of thousands of times per week. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.
Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.
Plastic pieces make up most of these particles. Some of these plastics end up in rivers or oceans.
Experts warn that the world may soon face a shortage of food if we don't make any changes. Experts warn that "if we keep going the way we are, we're not going make it," although scientists agree that the world is heading toward disaster. Most people, however, don't seem to be concerned.
What dark secrets do Hollywood have?
Hollywood is full of secret societies. Some are cult-like groups where members follow strict rules and rituals, while others are simply clubs for those who share common interests.
However, there are many other criminal organizations that hold much of the industry's power. These include the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), the organization that sets film ratings and RIAA(Recording Industry Association of America), the company that sets music licensing fees.
Numerous unions and guilds also represent actors, directors, writers, producers, etc. Most major movie studios and television networks are owned by large corporations which own these various organizations.
It doesn't matter how secretive a group might seem, someone somewhere knows what they are doing. However, we shouldn't fear them.
Instead, embrace them. Because they help us make better choices.
These people tell us what movies and songs will succeed, and which books will sell best.
They help us make decisions about what we will buy, watch, listen to, or read.
We can trust them so we can ignore their advice when it doesn't suit our taste.
And because we've chosen to ignore them, they become even more powerful. They are the supreme arbiters of taste.
They can be ignored if you don’t like what they have to say.
So now let's look at some of the lesser-known but still very real Hollywood secret societies.
And see why they're so important.
