Did you know that the White House houses a secret tunnel? It was constructed in 18th-century to move water from the house. The tunnel was eventually included in the water closets of President Jefferson. It was a large chamber with plastered walls, a deep gravel and sand bed on which to flush. James Hoban, an 1801-born man, drew an elevation to the tunnel's inner structure. The interior featured arched ceilings, plastered walls and a sand floor.
Presidents occupying rooms
The White House contains two secret rooms. The Solarium and the Game Room are both located on the upper floors of the residence. The Solarium served as a place for bridge parties and kindergarten parties to Mamie Eisenhower, Caroline Kennedy, and later became a study for the Clintons. This is where Richard Nixon announced that he would resign and Nancy Reagan found out about her husband's death. Both rooms have been used by presidents, from George Washington up to Barack Obama.
Recordings of White House conversations
There's no question that the Secret Service has made some recordings of conversations held in the White House. In the 1970s, tape recorders were installed in the White House. Charles W. Colson used tape recorders to record conversations between former White House aides and Dean. They also recorded calls on their telephones.
Location of the Oval Office
The Oval Office, a room located in the White House, is home to President Obama and the center of presidential activity. The President, his staff, and dignitaries all congregate in this room. The office is not directly connected to the rest of the White House, but it is part of the West Wing. This room is used by the president to meet with foreign leaders and senior staff members, as well as for official business.

Underground bunker
After President Obama was briefly confined to a secret underground bunker in the White House, several news outlets reported that the President and his family had a second place to retreat if they were attacked by terrorists. There are many escape tunnels and underground bunkers at the White House.
FAQ
Which is the most secretive city in the world?
It may surprise you to hear the answer. This may make you feel uncomfortable as it challenges your perception of reality and the way we live. There is a reason this place exists and it's not as you might expect.
It was also called the City of God in ancient Greek. According to the Bible, it was called the City of Destruction.
It's also known as Kashi (Kashmir) in India. It's also known as Novgorod in Russia.
But here in America, it goes by another name - The Town That Disappeared.
A small community of 1200 people in western New York State vanished. A road sign pointing to the former location of the town was all that was left, except for a few bodies and cars.
This tiny town vanished without any trace. Some believe it was swallowed by the earth. Others claim that a meteorite hit destroyed it. Some believe that it was taken by aliens.
The people of this once-thriving community, however, are positive that the town won't disappear forever. They had just moved to a new town.
You can even track the disappearance of Zugspitz on a dedicated website.
You might be wondering where this town went. It's actually in Switzerland!
Zugspitze is located on the border between Germany and Austria. The lake Lake Zugspitze is just beyond the mountain's summit.
It has always fascinated my that so many towns have disappeared but others still exist. Why does some vanish while others remain? I decided that I would investigate.
I wanted to learn more about mysteriously disappearing towns. What causes a community to disappear? How can one place vanish from existence?
There are many theories to explain the phenomenon of disappearing towns. One theory holds that a town disappears if all its buildings are demolished. Another theory holds that the town simply relocates to another location. A third theory states that the town didn't exist at all.
Although theories may be a bit speculative, it is a fact that numerous towns have been destroyed by the elements. This video examines the past and present status of these areas.
What dark secrets are there in Hollywood?
Hollywood is full of secret societies. Many secret societies are cult-like and follow rigid rules. Others are just clubs for people with common interests.
There are also other, more evil organizations that control large parts of the industry. These include companies like the MPAA ("Motion Picture Association of America"), which determines film ratings. The RIAA ("Recording Industry Association of America") sets music licensing fees.
Numerous unions/guilds also represent actors and directors as well as writers, producers, and so forth. Many of the major TV networks and movie studios are owned or controlled by large corporations.
It is obvious that, no matter how secretive or obtuse a group appears, someone knows exactly what they do. But that doesn't mean we should fear them.
Instead, we should embrace and celebrate them. Because they help us make better choices.
These experts tell us which movies are most likely to succeed, which songs will be in demand, and what books will sell the best.
These help us to decide what we'll watch, read, listen, and buy.
Because we can trust them, we can ignore their advice when it conflicts with our tastes.
We choose to ignore them and they become even more powerful. They are the ultimate judges of taste.
And if you don't like what they say, you're free to ignore them.
Let's now look at some lesser-known, but still very real Hollywood secret organizations.
You'll see why they are so important.
How does the brain control the functions in your body?
The brain communicates with other organs to ensure their cooperation. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells both your stomach and lungs what to do; it also controls your legs and arms.
Your brain is made up of billions upon billions of nerve cells that are connected together in groups called neuronal groups. Action potentials, which are electrical signals sent by neurons to each other via axons, allow them to communicate with one another. Each neuron is covered by a cell membrane. There are channels within the membrane that allow ions such a sodium or potassium to enter and exit the cell. Ion movement creates the electric charge that causes the neuron to fire.
Neurotransmitters, chemical substances that are released when a neuron fires. Neurotransmitters bind to receptors on the second neuron, opening ion channels so ions can pass in and out of the channel. As a result, second neuron fires as well.
Neurotransmitter production occurs when a neuron in the presynaptic receives an impulsive signal from another. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds with the receptors of the postsynaptic nerve, activating the firing of the postsynaptic neurons.
Communication within the nervous system is possible thanks to neurotransmitters. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.
Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?
The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!
Most of this rubbish ends up in landfills or incinerators. But, what happens when those dumpsters fill up? The majority of this rubbish is sent out of the country. It is then shipped out and dumped in other countries. This pollutes the ecosystems. But now we know, thanks to one man. Mike Sexton is his real name. He is the owner of Waste Watchers. His job involves monitoring the movements and routes of trash trucks across North America. He reports back to us about the next steps.
Sexton said he enjoys his job. CNN's Sexton said, "We have a lot to enjoy." "You know, we see these big rigs come through town, and we'll follow them. "Sexton began following truckers almost 20 year ago.
He stated, "I just fell in Love with It."
His favorite story involved a driver who pulled off at an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove down the street and saw this building. He pulled over and went in. "There were two large roll-off containers full of stuff. The guy took everything out and started filling up the truck again. "Then, he took everything out and started filling up the truck again. There were a bunch of old tires, rags, furniture, mattresses, boxes, bottles, cans, and whatever else. "It was just a total mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There wasn't any trash."
Why did this happen? This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that people would bring home their household items, and then take them to the building. After they were done, they would dispose of the empty containers.
This could happen hundreds of time per week. It could happen hundreds of thousands of times a week. The truck eventually stops running because it has become so jammed with junk. The owner eventually abandons the vehicle.
Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.
Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Some of these plastics end up in rivers or oceans.
Experts warn that the world may soon face a shortage of food if we don't make any changes. Experts warn that if we continue to go the same way, we won't make it. However, scientists and most people aren't worried.
