FAQ

Is there any Hollywood blacklist for actors?

There is a Hollywood blacklist.

However, the list isn’t public. The names are not known to us. This is why it matters.

The secretive nature of the information is due to the fact that actors and directors on blacklist won't be in a position to find work. The studios would be out of business as they lose money. This would mean that they would cut back on movie production. This would lead to fewer opportunities and less money for blacklisted directors. This would make them bankrupt.

This could eventually lead to more victims.

In short, when someone tries to make an oscar winning movie, they might be asked to sign a contract saying they won't speak publicly against their employers. For any producer or director that wants to be nominated, the same applies.

You hear stories of directors being pressured to remove scenes from films. Or how directors threaten to walk away from projects that don't fit their vision.

This is why Hollywood has a blacklist. If you make negative comments about your employer, it's likely that you will be unemployed. That's bad for everyone.

There are many people who have been falsely accused. They have had to fight for their freedom.

This kind of thing must stop before it can happen again. Everybody should be able to freely express themselves.

We need to get rid of Hollywood's blacklist.

Is there a more mysterious place than the Earth itself?

Antarctica is home to the most mysterious and remote place on Earth.

We find this place so fascinating. Because it is unlike any place on Earth.

It is very remote and isolated. It is not what you see.

These wild animals are also found in this natural wonder.

So let's explore how this remarkable destination became famous for its mystery.

Antarctica, The South Pole

Antarctica's name is a mystery. Some believe it means "land of ice." Others believe it comes out of Greek mythology.

Antarktis in ancient Greece was the name given the island where Zeus' twin brother brothers were born. According to legend, one of the twins was born in winter. Therefore, the name antarctic.

Others believe that the name comes from the Greek words anti meaning against and tropos meaning to turn. This would mean that the land was turned away by the sun.

Whatever the reason Antarctica holds a special fascination, people have always loved it.

It is the coldest, windiest, driest and highest continent. There are no trees, plants, or animals here because it is too cold.

Yet, this frozen wasteland is alive.

About 90 percent of all living things on Earth live here. About 50% of the world's plant and animal species can be found here.

What makes Antarctica so special? Here water freezes to ice and not evaporates into the atmosphere.

This causes large ice masses to rise above the ground.

These glaciers are responsible for covering 80% of the continent. And they're growing larger every year.

The Antarctic ice has grown 60 feet so far since 1960.

If the melting goes on, the sea level may rise by as much as 200 feet. This could lead to massive flooding across the globe.

But not everyone thinks this is bad news. Some scientists claim that global warming could be good for us. They suggest that rising temperatures could cause ice sheet melt faster, leading to floods that flush out toxic chemicals from soil and bodies.

Others cautioned that this theory sounds too science fiction.

Which is the most secretive city in the world?

This question might surprise you. You might be uncomfortable with the truth of it, as it may challenge your perception of reality. But there is an explanation for why this place exists, and it's not what you would expect.

The City of God was its name by the ancient Greeks. In the Bible, it was known as the City of Destruction.

In India, it's called Kashi (Kashmir). It is also called Novgorod in Russia.

However, in America it is called The Town that Disappeared.

One tiny town in western New York State lost its 1,200 inhabitants without trace. With the exception of a road marker pointing to its former site, there were no remains: cars, bodies, houses.

The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some believe it was swallowed by the earth. Others claim a meteorite strike destroyed it. Some believe that it was taken by aliens.

The people of this once-thriving community, however, are positive that the town won't disappear forever. They had just moved to a new town.

Even a website exists to help track down the disappearances of the lost city Zugspitz.

You might be wondering where this town went. Well, it's in Switzerland!

You can find Zugspitze at the border of Austria and Germany. Lake Zugspitze can be found just beyond the summit.

It has always fascinated my that so many towns have disappeared but others still exist. Why is it that some disappear while others live on? I decided to investigate.

I was curious about the disappearing towns. What is the secret to a town's disappearance? What makes a place disappear?

It turns out that there are several theories about the phenomenon of vanishing towns. One theory states that a town vanishes when all its buildings are destroyed. Another theory suggests that the town simply moves somewhere else. A third theory holds that the town did not exist.

Although theories may be a bit speculative, it is a fact that numerous towns have been destroyed by the elements. This video explores the history of these towns and examines their current state.

Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?

The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!

Most of this trash ends up in landfill dumps or incinerators. But what happens when those dumpsters get full? All that trash ends up being shipped out of country. It then gets dumped in foreign countries, polluting their ecosystems. However, now we know where all that trash goes. Mike Sexton is his full name. He is the founder of Waste Watchers. He watches over trucks that transport trash across North America. He reports back to us about the next steps.

Sexton claims he is very satisfied with his job. CNN asked Sexton if he thought it was a lot of fun. "We'll be following these big rigs through town. "Sexton started following truck driver almost 20 years back.

He stated, "I just fell in Love with It."

His favorite story involved a driver who pulled off at an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove down the road and saw this building. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. The man took all the stuff out and filled up his truck with more. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were many old tires, furniture, rags and mattresses. "It was just an absolute mess. It had been cleaned up before he arrived. There was no trash."

Why did this happen? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. Sexton explained that they would bring household items and take them to the building. Then, after they were done, they would empty the containers.

You might see this happen hundreds of times a day. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.

Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.

Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Some of these plastics end up in rivers or oceans.

Experts warn that the world may soon face a shortage of food if we don't make any changes. Experts warn that "if we keep going the way we are, we're not going make it," although scientists agree that the world is heading toward disaster. Most people, however, don't seem to be concerned.
