FAQ

What is the most secretive location in the entire world?

The answer may shock you. It might even make you uncomfortable because it challenges our perception of reality and how we live. But there is a reason why this place exists. And it is not what you would expect.

The ancient Greeks called it the City of God. According to the Bible, it was called the City of Destruction.

It's also known as Kashi (Kashmir) in India. In Russia, it's called Novgorod.

However, in America it is called The Town that Disappeared.

A small community of 1200 people in western New York State vanished. With the exception of a road marker pointing to its former site, there were no remains: cars, bodies, houses.

The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some believe the earth swallowed them up. Others claim that a meteorite hit destroyed it. Others believe that aliens took it.

Despite what may have happened, the people who lived in this once-thriving area are confident that their town will not be lost forever. They had just moved to another town.

Even a website exists to help track down the disappearances of the lost city Zugspitz.

Then, where is it? It's in Switzerland.

You can find Zugspitze at the border of Austria and Germany. Lake Zugspitze can be found just beyond the summit.

It's always fascinated me how so many towns disappear, yet others remain. Why do some disappear while others survive? I decided to investigate.

I wanted more information about the mysterious disappearing of towns. What makes a town disappear? How can a town disappear from existence?

There are many theories to explain the phenomenon of disappearing towns. One theory is that a city disappears after all buildings have been demolished. Another theory suggests that the town simply moves somewhere else. A third theory states that the town didn't exist at all.

The fact is that hundreds of towns all over the world have been swept away by the ground, despite theories to the contrary. This video explores the history of these towns and examines their current state.

What are some dark secrets in Hollywood?

Hollywood is filled secret societies. Some are cult-like groups where members follow strict rules and rituals, while others are simply clubs for those who share common interests.

But there are also more nefarious organizations that control much of the industry. These include companies like the MPAA ("Motion Picture Association of America"), which determines film ratings. The RIAA ("Recording Industry Association of America") sets music licensing fees.

Numerous unions/guilds also represent actors and directors as well as writers, producers, and so forth. Large corporations own most major studios and networks of television.

It doesn't really matter how secretive an organization may appear, there is always someone who knows exactly what they do. They shouldn't be fearful, however.

Instead, we should embrace them. Because they help us make better choices.

They can tell us which movies and songs are likely to be successful, as well as what books and novels will be most popular.

They allow us to make informed decisions about what we buy, watch and listen to.

We can trust their advice and we can ignore it if it contradicts our values.

Because we have chosen to ignore their power, they are even more powerful. They are the ultimate judges of taste.

And if you don't like what they say, you're free to ignore them.

Let's now look at some lesser-known, but still very real Hollywood secret organizations.

You'll see why they are so important.

What is the most mysterious location on Earth?

Antarctica is the world's most mysterious place on Earth.

Why is this place so amazing? Because it's unlike any other place in the world.

It is isolated, remote, and very hard to visit. But there is more to this site than meets the eye.

Some of the most bizarre wildlife species can also be found in this natural wonder.

Let's find out how this mysterious destination became so famous.

Antarctica: The South Pole

Antarctica is not known by anyone. Some believe it means "land of ice." Others believe it comes from Greek mythology.

In ancient Greece, Antarktis was the name given to the island where Zeus' twin brothers were born. According to legend, one twin was born in winter. Hence, the word antarctic.

Others believe that it is the Greek word anti, which means against, and tropos, which refers to turning. This would translate to land that is turned away from the sun.

Whatever the reason Antarctica has always been a fascination for people.

It is the coldest, windiest, driest and highest continent. It is too cold for trees, plants and animals.

And yet, this frozen wasteland is teeming with life.

It houses approximately 90% of all Earth's living organisms. You can find approximately half the world's species of animal and plant plants here.

What makes Antarctica so special? Here water freezes to ice and not evaporates into the atmosphere.

This causes large amounts of ice to float above ground.

These floating glaciers cover 80% of the continent. And they're growing larger every year.

Since 1960, the Antarctic ice sheets has grown 60ft.

If the melting continues, the sea level will rise by up to 200 feet. That could cause massive flooding around the globe.

However, not all scientists believe this to be bad news. Some scientists suggest that global warming could actually be good for us. They believe that global warming will lead to melting ice sheets faster and floods that can flush toxic chemicals out of our soils and bodies.

Others cautioned that this theory sounds too science fiction.

How does your brain control your body's functions?

The brain sends messages to other organs and muscles to ensure they work together. Your body's functions are controlled by your brain. It tells your stomach to digest food and your lungs to breathe air; it tells your arms and legs to move.

Your brain is made of billions, or neurons, of nerve cells. Neurons communicate by sending electrical signals, called action potentials, on axons. Each neuron has its own cell membrane around its nucleus. The cell membrane houses channels that allow ions, such as potassium and sodium, to enter and exit the cells. The neuron fires when there is ion movement.

Neurotransmitters are chemicals released when a neuron fires. Neurotransmitters can bind to receptors at the second neuron. They open ions channels, allowing ions to move in and outside of the channel. This causes the second neuron to fire too.

When another neuron sends an impulse to the presynaptic neural cell, neurotransmitter is released. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds directly to the receptors in the postsynaptic nervous neuron, and triggers the firing.

For communication within the nervous systems, neurotransmitters are essential. They coordinate activity between the different parts of your brain.
