This article looks at Nixon's political career, from domestic excesses to political spying and 'enemies lists'. Although this is not a complete history, it highlights some of the most important moments in the presidency. You'll learn more about the man who led this nation for nearly four decades.
Nixon's political journey
Nixon's political career was marked by a range of attitudes and styles. He could be classified as a moderate, liberal, or conservative. Scholars have supported each label with evidence. However, it is important for scholars to point out that transitional political figures often seem inconsistent. Although Nixon was a conservative, he entered the presidency after the liberal era. This led him to try to create a right-wing governing coalition. He was forced to dismantle a coalition President Franklin Roosevelt had established with the Left.

Nixon worked in Washington, D.C., for the Office of Price Administration after graduating from college. He also enlisted with the Navy where he served a variety assignments. He eventually achieved the rank and was appointed lieutenant Commander.
Nixon's domestic excesses
The Nixon administration was guilty of domestic excesses that covered many areas. President Nixon presided over a wage freeze and tax cut, a price freeze and tax cuts, as well as a temporary closing of the "gold window" in order to stop foreign demand for gold. The first affirmative action plan was also implemented by the administration.
Nixon appointed many federal judges during his term. He appointed 46 United States Court of Appeals judges and 181 district court judges. Some of his appointments were criticised as being excessively disproportionate while others were praised for what they accomplished.
Nixon's political surveillance
Nixon ordered wiretapping government employees and journalists to learn what they had to say about the White House during the Watergate scandal. The tapes reveal that Nixon was a staunch anti-Semite, endorsed the genocide in Bangladesh, and mentioned panda sex.

The CIA also spied against political opponents. In 1972, some of the Pentagon Papers gangsters were used by the White House for political espionage. These included CIA officer E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, who were involved in the harassment of Daniel Ellsberg.
FAQ
Is there any Hollywood blacklist for actors?
There is an Hollywood blacklist.
The list isn’t available for public viewing. As far as we are aware, the names are not even known. It matters because of this.
The secretive nature of the information is due to the fact that actors and directors on blacklist won't be in a position to find work. So they'd go out of business, which means that the studios would lose money. Which means they'd cut back on spending money on movies. That would reduce the opportunities for blacklisted filmmakers. They could go bankrupt.
This could eventually lead to more victims.
When someone tries making an Oscar winning movie they might be asked for a contract. This means that they can't publicly criticize their employer. For any producer or director that wants to be nominated, the same applies.
It's no surprise that directors are often forced to take out scenes in their films by producers. Directors threaten to abandon projects that don’t conform to their vision.
This is why Hollywood has a blacklist. If you are negative about your employer, you'll most likely go unemployed. That's bad for everyone.
Many people have been wrongly accused. And they've had to fight to clear their name.
We must stop this from happening again. We must ensure that everyone has the right to express themselves freely.
Also, we must take down the Hollywood blacklist.
Is there a more mysterious place than the Earth itself?
Antarctica is one of the most mysterious places on Earth.
This is why we find it so captivating. Because it's unlike any other place in the world.
It is remote and difficult to reach. This site has more to it than meets your eye.
These wild animals are also found in this natural wonder.
Let's now see how this amazing destination came to be so well-known for its mystery.
Antarctica: The South Pole
No one knows exactly why Antarctica was named Antarctica. Some believe it refers to "land of ice". Some believe it means "land of ice". Others believe it is Greek mythology.
Antarktis is the name Antarktis was given to an island in ancient Greece by Zeus' twin brothers. One of the twins was said to have been born in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.
Others think the name came from the Greek words anti, meaning against, and tropos meaning turn. This would translate to land that is turned away from the sun.
Whatever the reason Antarctica has held a special fascination for people, it is undeniable.
It is also the lowest, windiest continent, driest, and highest. It is too cold to support trees, plants, and animals.
Yet, this frozen wasteland is alive.
Here, 90 percent live of all species of living things. Here are approximately 50% of all the animal and plant species in the world.
What is Antarctica? Here water freezes to ice and not evaporates into the atmosphere.
This results in large masses of ice floating above the ground.
These glaciers cover more than 80% of the continent. They're getting bigger every year.
The Antarctic Ice Sheet has grown 60 feet in the past 60 years.
The sea level could rise to 200 feet if the melting continues. This could lead worldwide flooding.
Not everyone believes this is bad news. Some scientists think global warming might be beneficial. They believe that global warming will lead to melting ice sheets faster and floods that can flush toxic chemicals out of our soils and bodies.
Others warn that this theory sounds like something out of a science-fiction movie.

Did you know that there are approximately 1.6 billion metric tons of trash produced every day in the world?
The United Nations estimates that the average person generates more than 2.5 pounds of waste each day. This adds up to over 25 million pounds of garbage annually!
Most of the trash ends up at incinerators and landfills. But, what happens to those dumpsters? It goes to the United States, where most of it is exported. It is then shipped out and dumped in other countries. This pollutes the ecosystems. But now we know, thanks to one man. His name is Mike Sexton. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back to us on what happens next.
Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. "We've got a lot of fun," he told CNN. "You know, we see these big rigs come through town, and we'll follow them. "Sexton began following truck drivers almost 20 years ago.
"I just fell in love with it," he said.
His favorite story involved a driver who pulled off at an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove along the road and saw this structure. He pulled over and went in. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. The man got everything out of the truck and began filling it up again. "The man looked around the area and decided to unload all of it. There were old tires and rags, furniture pieces, mattresses, mattresses and boxes. "It was just total chaos. But it had been cleaned out before he came along. There was no trash."
Why did this happen? It's because this area used to be a recycle center. People would drive from all over the country to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that they would bring household items and take them to the building. Then, after they were done, they would empty the containers.
Now, because of the way the law works, once a container reaches its destination, it cannot be opened. So no matter how often someone takes something out of it, the thing will never be emptied.Every time the truck comes by, it has to start over again. This could happen hundreds times per week. Finally, the truck stops running completely due to its excessive junk. The owner finally decides to stop using the truck.
Trash, however, isn't the only problem facing our planet. As you may have noticed, things are getting worse.According to experts, pollution levels have risen dramatically in recent years.More than half of all water bodies on Earth are polluted.Pollution from industrial chemicals has increased by more than 30 percent since 1980.Even the air we breathe is becoming increasingly toxic.A study by the World Health Organization found that the average person inhales around 100 million particles daily.
Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Others end up in rivers, oceans or the stomachss of fish.
Experts say if nothing changes, we could soon face a global food shortage. Experts warn that if we continue to go the same way, we won't make it. However, scientists and most people aren't worried.
