Ken Burns
Ken Burns' style is instantly recognizable. He has won more awards than any other documentary filmmaker and has received millions of viewers for his work. The Civil War was the PBS series with the greatest audience. It also received more nominations than any other series. It made Shelby Foote, Civil War's photographer, a star. Ken Burns's style has increased the demand for history programming.
Burns' approach for writing a presidential declaration is not new. Burns has been making movies every year for at least a decade. And he has a brand new film in the works. A six-hour, three-part film on the U.S. role in the Holocaust will be released by him. While the title of the film has yet to be finalized it will explore the question "What did Americans know about Holocaust and the extermination" of Jews.
Burns' films focus on the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Burns has documented many notable Americans' lives, including Frank Lloyd Wright (Susan B. Anthony) and Abraham Lincoln. His documentaries have been nominated to win fifteen Emmy Awards as well as two Academy Awards. His films have become a cultural and educational force, attracting millions of viewers.

Woodrow Wilson
Woodrow Wilson, an intellectually shrewd and progressive president, was a pacifist and progressive who helped America become a global power. Unfortunately, his presidency was marred with a series controversial decisions. These and other aspects of Woodrow Wilson's career and life are covered in the Woodrow Wilson presidential documentary.
Wilson is only half-recovery from a stroke at the beginning of the first volume in this series. Wilson struggles with domestic and global issues but his primary goal in the first volume of this series is to convince Senate to approve Treaty of Versailles. The book opens on Christmas Eve 1920, in the last days of Wilson's administration. Wilson and his advisors fail to create an effective program, and the administration is at risk of collapse. The final meeting of the cabinet is scheduled for March 1. The new German government refuses to remain silent, and Wilson finds himself in a bind.
These documentaries were made by a team consisting of Dr. Asantewa BOAKYEWA, supervisory programme manager at Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum, and former curator for the President Wilson House Museum. Woodrow Wilson presidential documentaries also featured Dr. John Milton Cooper. Cooper is the author of Woodrow Wilson. A biography and a professor emeritus of University of Wisconsin Madison. Boakyewa has been interviewed along with Dr. Sidney Bland author of Lucy Burns.
Robert Reiner
Robert Reiner has become a Hollywood liberal, but he's lost his edge as a director of crafty mainstream entertainment. His last film, The American President, shows that he is not a filmmaker but a rider operator. Reiner portrays John Walcott, the Knight Ridder editor in Shock and Awe. The film reveals how two reporters exposed the Bush administration's lies and the way the press distorted the official story. It captures the horrifying history of war but also the absurd patter of journalists as well as the arrogance of Bush administration cabinet members.

The Story of Us, however, is very similar to The American President. The film's ending is contrary to the film's concept and only serves to give Michelle Pfeiffer hero moment. Reiner's lack feminism is apparent in the film's ending, which he must embrace casual sexism. Reiner's documentary filmmaking approach isn't particularly sexy. However, Reiner can still shine when given more quality material.
FAQ
Have you ever wondered what amount of trash is generated each day worldwide?
The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!
Most of this trash ends up in landfill dumps or incinerators. But what happens when those dumpsters get full? Most of that trash is shipped out of the country. It then gets dumped in foreign countries, polluting their ecosystems. However, now we know where all that trash goes. Mike Sexton is his full name. He is the founder of Waste Watchers. He watches over trucks that transport trash across North America. He then reports back to us on what happens next.
Sexton stated that he finds the job very satisfying. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.
"I just fell in love with it," he said.
His favorite story involved a driver who pulled off at an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove down the street and saw this building. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two large roll-off containers full of stuff. The man took all the stuff out and filled up his truck with more. "The man looked around the area and decided to unload all of it. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. It was a complete mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There wasn’t trash everywhere."
This is the reason why it happened. This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that people would bring home their household items, and then take them to the building. After they were done, they would dispose of the empty containers.
This can happen hundreds of times a week. It could happen hundreds of thousands of times a week. The truck eventually stops running because it has become so jammed with junk. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.
Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.
Many of these tiny plastic pieces end up in landfills and incinerators. Some are washed into rivers and oceans. Others end up with fish in their stomachs.
Experts warn us that we may soon face an international food shortage if things don't change. Experts warn that if we continue to go the same way, we won't make it. However, scientists and most people aren't worried.
Which is the most secretive city in the world?
The answer to that question may shock you. It could even make you uncomfortable, because it challenges how reality is perceived and lived. There is a reason this place exists and it's not as you might expect.
It was also called the City of God in ancient Greek. It was also known as the City of Destruction according to the Bible.
It is also called Kashi in India (Kashmir). It is called Novgorod (Russia).
But here in America, it goes by another name - The Town That Disappeared.
A small town in western New York State, with a population of 1,200, vanished without a trace. No bodies, cars, houses, nothing was left behind except a road sign pointing to its former location.
The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some say the earth swallowed it up. Others believe it was destroyed by a meteorite. Still, others say aliens took it away.
Whatever happened, the residents of this once-thriving community are convinced that their town isn't gone forever. They had just moved to a new town.
You can even track the disappearance of Zugspitz on a dedicated website.
So, where exactly did this town go? It's in Switzerland.
You can find Zugspitze at the border of Austria and Germany. Lake Zugspitze can be found just beyond the summit.
It has always fascinated me that so many towns have disappeared, yet some still remain. Why do some disappear while others survive? I decided to investigate.
I wanted more information about the mysterious disappearing of towns. What is the secret to a town's disappearance? How does one place go extinct?
There are many theories to explain the phenomenon of disappearing towns. One theory says that a town disappears when all the buildings are demolished. Another theory states that the town simply moves to another location. Another theory suggests that the town has never existed.
No matter what theories you may have, there is no doubt that many towns across the globe were swallowed by the ground. This video examines both the history and current status.
How does the brain control the functions in your body?
To ensure that other organs and muscle functions work together, the brain sends messages. The brain controls everything that happens in your body. It tells your stomach to digest food and your lungs to breathe air; it tells your arms and legs to move.
Your brain is composed of billions and billions nerve cells, connected in groups called neurons. Neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals called action potentials on axons. Every neuron has a cell wall around its nucleus. The membrane contains channels that allow ions like sodium and potassium to enter the cell and leave it. Ion movement is what causes the neurons to fire.
When a neuron is activated, neurotransmitters release chemicals into the space between it and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters bind to receptors on the second neuron, opening ion channels so ions can pass in and out of the channel. As a result, the second neuron fires too.
When another neuron sends an impulse to the presynaptic neural cell, neurotransmitter is released. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds at the receptors of the post-synaptic Neuron and triggers its firing.
Neurotransmitters are important for communication within the nervous system. They coordinate activity between the different parts of your brain.
What is the most mysterious location on Earth?
Antarctica is considered the most mysterious area on Earth.
We find this place so fascinating. Because it is unlike any other spot on Earth.
It is remote and difficult to reach. But there is more to this site than meets the eye.
These wild animals are also found in this natural wonder.
Let's find out how this mysterious destination became so famous.
Antarctica, The South Pole
It is not known why Antarctica was called Antarctica. Some believe it refers to "land of ice". Some believe it means "land of ice". Others believe it is Greek mythology.
Antarktis is the name Antarktis was given to an island in ancient Greece by Zeus' twin brothers. According to one source, one of the twins was conceived in winter. Therefore, the name antarctic.
Others think the name came from the Greek words anti, meaning against, and tropos meaning turn. This would translate to land that is turned away from the sun.
Whatever the reason, Antarctica has always held a special fascination for people.
It is also the lowest, windiest continent, driest, and highest. There are no trees, plants, or animals here because it is too cold.
This frozen wasteland is still alive.
About 90 percent of all living things on Earth live here. About 50% of the world's plant and animal species can be found here.
What makes Antarctica so special? Here water freezes to ice and not evaporates into the atmosphere.
This causes large amounts of ice to float above ground.
These glaciers cover more than 80% of the continent. They continue to grow in size each year.
The Antarctic ice has grown 60 feet so far since 1960.
The sea level could rise to 200 feet if the melting continues. This could lead worldwide flooding.
This does not mean that everyone is wrong. Some scientists think global warming might be beneficial. According to scientists, global warming could be good for us because the melting of the ice sheets will accelerate, which can lead to floods that release toxic chemicals into our soil and bodies.
Others cautioned that this theory sounds too science fiction.

How To
Hollywood scandals that stunned the entire world
Nothing is more shocking than seeing someone famous for wrong reasons. But, it's equally shocking to watch them fall from the graces.
The best thing about watching how an industry reacts when it makes mistakes is the best part. There are many stories about celebrities who drank excessively. Some even died young because of it.
The worst thing is when these stars are made public about their problems and shunned. That's where we found ourselves last week.
Heath Ledger lost his long and successful career. He took too many prescription pills and died shortly after.
His family and friends struggled to accept his passing, and the media had a field day bashing him publicly.
Heath was once considered one of the most talented actors working today. He was nominated for two Academy Awards for his performance in Brokeback Mountain.
Heath, in addition to acting, also wrote and directed films such as A Knight's Tale (Monster's Ball) and Iron Man (3).
Hollywood loved Heath. But he was too big for his boots. He began using drugs and drinking heavily. He ended up in rehab and became clean.
Now that he was sober, he wanted to make amends. He produced a documentary called Room 237 that documented the making process of The Shining. It was originally scheduled to release this year, but it won’t be available in theaters until next.
Heath was unsuccessful in his attempts to get back into Hollywood. In fact, Heath was twice arrested on drug charges.
Although we don't think Heath should be allowed to return to the showbiz, However, it would have been nice if he could have gotten some help before things spiraled out of control.
We hope Heath’s story can be an example to other people who believe they can still have it all.
