FAQ
Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?
The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!
The majority of this garbage ends up in incinerators or landfills. But what happens when the dumpsters become full? All that trash ends up being shipped out of country. It is then dumped in other countries, where it pollutes their ecosystems. But now, thanks to the work of one man, we know exactly where all this trash goes. Mike Sexton is his nickname. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.
Sexton stated that he finds the job very satisfying. "We've got a lot of fun," he told CNN. "You know, we see these big rigs come through town, and we'll follow them. "Sexton started following truck driver almost 20 years back.
He stated, "I just fell in Love with It."
His favorite story involved a driver who pulled off at an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton said that the man was searching for a place to store his stuff. "He saw the building as he drove down the road. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two huge roll-off containers there filled with stuff. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. "It was just an absolute mess. But it had been cleaned out before he came along. There was no trash."
Why did this happen? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.
This can happen hundreds of times a week. This could happen hundreds times per week. Finally, the truck stops running completely due to its excessive junk. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.
However, trash is not the only problem on our planet.
Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Others end up in rivers, oceans or the stomachss of fish.
Experts warn that if there is no change, the world could soon be facing a food shortage. "If we keep going like we're going, we're not going to make it," one expert warned. But even though scientists agree that the world is headed toward disaster, most people don't seem worried.
Is there a Hollywood blacklist?
There is a Hollywood blacklist.
The list isn’t available for public viewing. As far as we know, the names aren't even known. This is why it matters.
The secret is because the directors and actors on blacklist wouldn't have any job opportunities. They would go out of business which would mean that studios would lose their money. They would also cut back on their spending on movies. This would result in fewer opportunities available for blacklisted filmmakers. They would then go bankrupt.
This could lead to more victims.
In other words, if someone is trying to make an Oscar winning movie, they might have to sign a contract that says they won't speak openly against their employers. The same goes for any director or producer who wants to get nominated for an award.
You hear stories of directors being pressured to remove scenes from films. Or directors threaten to walk out of projects that don’t match their vision.
This is why Hollywood has created a blacklist. If you make negative comments about your employer, it's likely that you will be unemployed. This is not good news for anyone.
The problem is that many people have been falsely accused. And they've had to fight to clear their name.
This is unacceptable behavior and must be stopped. Everyone should have the right to speak freely.
So we need to take down the Hollywood blacklist.
Which is the most mysterious spot on Earth?
Antarctica is considered the most mysterious area on Earth.
This is why we find it so captivating. Because it's unlike any other place in the world.
It is remote, isolated, and extremely difficult to visit. This site has more to it than meets your eye.
These wild animals are also found in this natural wonder.
So let's explore how this remarkable destination became famous for its mystery.
Antarctica, The South Pole
No one knows exactly why Antarctica was named Antarctica. Some believe it refers to "land of ice". Some believe it means "land of ice". Others believe it is Greek mythology.
Antarktis is the name Antarktis was given to an island in ancient Greece by Zeus' twin brothers. According to legend, one twin was born in winter. Hence, the word antarctic.
Others believe the name was derived from the Greek words tropos, which means turn, and anti, meaning against. This would be land turned away form the sun.
Whatever the reason Antarctica has always been a fascination for people.
It is the driest, windiest of all continents. It is too cold for trees, plants and animals.
Yet, life is abundant in this frozen wilderness.
About 90 percent of all living things on Earth live here. There are about 50% of the world's animal, plant and plant species.
And what makes Antarctica such a unique environment? Here, water is frozen into ice rather than vaporizing into the air.
This creates large masses of ice that float above the ground.
These floating glaciers cover 80% of the continent. These glaciers are getting larger each year.
The Antarctic ice has grown 60 feet so far since 1960.
If the melting continues, sea level could rise up to 200ft. This could lead to massive flooding across the globe.
This is not necessarily bad news. Some scientists suggest that global warming could actually be good for us. According to scientists, global warming could be good for us because the melting of the ice sheets will accelerate, which can lead to floods that release toxic chemicals into our soil and bodies.
Others, however, warn that this theory sounds almost like a plot for a science fiction film.
How does the brain control the functions in your body?
The brain sends messages to other organs and muscles to ensure they work together. Your body's functions are controlled by your brain. It tells the stomach to digest food, and the lungs to breath air. It also tells your legs and arms to move.
Your brain consists of billions of nerve cells connected in groups called neurons. Action potentials are electrical signals that neurons send to one another. Each neuron is covered by a cell membrane. There are channels within the membrane that allow ions such a sodium or potassium to enter and exit the cell. The electric charge that causes the neuron's fire is created by ion movement.
Neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that release neurotransmitters when a neuron fires up, can be found in the space between the neurons and the next one. Neurotransmitters are able to bind to receptors in the second neuron. This opens ion channels that allow ions to flow in and out. As a result, second neuron fires as well.
When another neuron sends an impulse to the presynaptic neural cell, neurotransmitter is released. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds directly to the receptors in the postsynaptic nervous neuron, and triggers the firing.
For communication within the nervous systems, neurotransmitters are essential. They are also responsible for coordinating activity between various parts of the brain.

Hollywood scandals that shocked the world
There's nothing more shocking than watching someone become famous for the wrong reasons. But, it's equally shocking to watch them fall from the graces.
It is amazing to see how an industry handles its mistakes. Many celebrities have used alcohol and drugs in excess. Some even died young because of it.
The worst part about this is that these same stars come out with their problems and are ridiculed by everyone. Last week, that's exactly where we were.
Heath Ledger, after a long and successful professional career, finally gave in to his demons. After a short battle with death, Heath Ledger succumbed to prescription pills.
His family and close friends had difficulty accepting his death. The media took to him publically.
Heath was once considered to be one of today's most talented actors. His performances in Brokeback Mountain earned Heath two Academy Award nominations.
In addition to acting, Heath also wrote and directed films, including A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball, and Iron Man 3.
Hollywood loved Heath but he grew too large for his boots. He started to use drugs and drink heavily. Eventually, he went to rehab and came out clean.
Now that he was sober, it was time to make amends. He then made "Room 237," a documentary that chronicled The Shining's making. The film was originally supposed to be released in this year's theaters, but it will not make its way into the cinemas until next year.
Heath attempted to get into Hollywood every time. In fact, Heath was twice arrested on drug charges.
We are not suggesting that Heath should be allowed back into the show business. However, it would have been nice if he could have gotten some help before things spiraled out of control.
We hope Heath’s tale will be a wakeup call to anyone who may believe that they can still have all.
