Or a US colonel tries to help the Confederacy by supplying submachine guns and is mysteriously transported back into the past to the lives of African Americans.
This is a fun twist on Rod Serling’s "In Search of", the original series. Mitch Pieggi briefly hosted the reboot before Nimoy stepped in as permanent host. The original series also inspired a number of spin-offs focusing on everything from extraterrestrials and lost civilizations, to a Bigfoot documentary. In Search Of is not as witty or intelligent in the new version. Zachary Quinto's host is the inspiration for this version. It's more curious and eager. It also does not set itself too high goals, which makes the film a pleasure to watch.
