Nixon's political life

Nixon displayed a wide range of styles and attitudes throughout his political career. He could be described as a liberal, moderate, or conservative. Nixon had conservative tendencies, but he became president at the end of liberal times. This allowed him to pursue a right-leaning governing coalition. He had to end the partnership that President Franklin Roosevelt and the left had made.

Nixon began his career in Washington D.C.'s Office of Price Administration following graduation. He also enlisted with the Navy where he served a variety assignments. He eventually reached the rank as lieutenant-commander and served fourteen months in Pacific.

Nixon's domestic excesses

The Nixon administration's domestic excesses covered a broad range of issues. The president presided over a wage and price freeze, tax cuts, and a temporary closure of the "gold window" to prevent foreign demands for gold. It also implemented the first affirmative actions plan in the U.S.

Nixon made many appointments to the federal bench during his tenure. He appointed 46 judges for the United States Court of Appeals, and 181 to the District Courts. While some of these appointments were criticized because they were excessive or disproportionate, others were praised due to their achievements.

Nixon's political spying

Nixon ordered the wiretapping and recording of reporters and government employees during Watergate to get information about the White House. These tapes show Nixon was a strong anti-Semite, supported genocide in Bangladesh and mentioned panda's sex.
