During wartime, the CIA created "Lima Sites," ports of entry in the country, to help Hmong troops move and get supplies. LS-36 was the most notable Lima Site. Another noteworthy site was LS-20A.

The CIA eventually decided to evacuate Laos following the war. The United States ended its military and financial support for Laos after the Paris Peace Treaty was signed, ending the Vietnam War. The CIA's operation to end the Vietnam War in Laos was a success. The CIA also helped to stop the spread communism in Laos.
