How does your brain control your body's functions?
To ensure that other organs and muscle functions work together, the brain sends messages. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells your stomach how to digest food and your lungs how to inhale oxygen; it also tells your arms, legs and feet to move.
Your brain is composed of billions and billions nerve cells, connected in groups called neurons. Neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals called action potentials on axons. Each neuron is covered by a cell membrane. The cell membrane houses channels that allow ions, such as potassium and sodium, to enter and exit the cells. Ion movement creates the electric charge that causes the neuron to fire.
When a neuron is activated, neurotransmitters release chemicals into the space between it and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters are able to bind to receptors in the second neuron. This opens ion channels that allow ions to flow in and out. In turn, the second neuron also fires.
Neurotransmitter production occurs when a neuron in the presynaptic receives an impulsive signal from another. The impulse travels along the synapse connecting the two neurons. The transmitter binds directly to the receptors in the postsynaptic nervous neuron, and triggers the firing.
The nervous system relies on neurotransmitters for communication. They coordinate brain activity among different parts.
What is the most interesting fact about the human body?
We have two eyes and two ears, two nostrils each, four limbs, four limbs and a penis. It's true, we have more 50 parts of our body, but there is one thing missing. The heart.
A heart is the pump that circulates blood throughout a body. The blood flows through the veins and arteries to carry oxygen and nutrients to the cells.
The heart pumps out about 5 liters per minute. This is equivalent in daily coffee consumption to an adult who consumes approximately 2 to 3 cups.
The heart pumps blood 24 hours a days, 365 days per year. While sleeping, your heart beats close to 100 times per minute.
Because of the color and texture of their skin, you can tell if someone is healthy or sick. If you examine the skin closely, you will see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These small vessels carry blood away from the large blood vessels in the skin back to the heart. If blood flow is blocked, skin can turn blue or purple.
People suffering from sickle cell disease have no red blood cells. Patients with sickle cell disease have their blood become sticky and harden, leading to severe illness.
If you cut yourself, a bandage is applied to stop the bleeding. Blood must continue to flow to allow the wounds to heal properly. To do this, doctors will insert a needle through your skin into the vein adjacent to the injury. This allows the blood to drain from the injured area.
Doctors can also insert catheters into the artery close to the area where the bloodclot has formed. This keeps the patient occupied until the clot is broken down naturally.
Why do actors get blacklisted in the first place?
As an actor, rejection is much more common than for writers. An actor will probably be rejected quite often. However, it doesn't really matter as you will eventually meet someone who is truly your love.
Actors have a lot of talent, so they can make a decent living almost anywhere. Actors don't really care about making money. Actors enjoy acting and telling stories. You'll be an actor if you love acting.
Sometimes, auditions are cancelled because you are either too young or too old for the job. Or, you could lose out on a role in a movie. It happens all too often.
But once you've been cast, you may also face criticism. Many people will tell you you look horrible or that you shouldn't be wearing make-up. If you're lucky, you won't even hear negative comments.
Sometimes, you might be criticised for playing a role that isn’t authentic or realistic. Maybe you play a gay man, and everyone thinks you're straight. Maybe you are a woman who is tough but cries often.
Sometimes, they ask you to change your voice. Sometimes they ask for you to sound like a male or female. Most times, though, they want you to sound better.
The best way to deal with these criticisms is to ignore them. Actors can feel like they have failed when they are told they did something wrong. The truth is they haven’t done anything wrong.
They didn't have the talent to make them famous. Sometimes they don't fit that bill no matter how hard or if they try.
There are many reasons an actor might be blacklisted. Some people don't like actors. Some people think actors are lazy. Still, others say that actors are cheaters.
Whatever the reason, it's important to realize that you will not get blacklisted if you keep trying. There are many jobs out there and you'll be able to find them.
You will eventually succeed if you keep trying.
