FAQ
What is the most mysterious location on Earth?
Antarctica is the most mysterious continent on Earth.
Why do we find this place so intriguing? Because it is unlike any other spot on Earth.
It is very remote and isolated. This site has more to it than meets your eye.
This natural wonder is also home to some of the strangest wildlife species.
So let's explore how this remarkable destination became famous for its mystery.
Antarctica, The South Pole
Antarctica is not known by anyone. Some believe it means "land of ice." Some believe it means "land of ice". Others believe it is Greek mythology.
Antarktis, the Greek name for the island on which Zeus' twin brothers were conceived, was used in ancient Greece. According to one source, one of the twins was conceived in winter. Hence, the word antarctic.
Others believe that the name comes from the Greek words anti meaning against and tropos meaning to turn. This would signify land turned away the sun.
Whatever the reason Antarctica holds a special fascination, people have always loved it.
It is the coldest, windiest, driest and highest continent. Because it is too frigid, there are no trees, animals, or plants.
Yet, the frozen desert is alive with life.
Here are about 90% of all the living creatures on Earth. You can find approximately half the world's species of animal and plant plants here.
What is it that makes Antarctica so unique? Here, water is frozen into ice rather than vaporizing into the air.
This causes large ice masses to rise above the ground.
These glaciers are responsible for covering 80% of the continent. These glaciers are getting larger each year.
The Antarctic Ice Sheet has grown 60 feet in the past 60 years.
If the melting continues, sea level could rise up to 200ft. It could result in massive flooding all over the world.
This is not necessarily bad news. Some scientists think global warming might be beneficial. They claim that the melting of ice sheets could accelerate as temperatures rise. This would lead to flooding that removes tons of toxic chemicals and soil from our bodies.
But others warn that this theory sounds like a plot from a science fiction movie.
Do you wonder how much trash is produced each day across the globe?
According to the United Nations there are more than 25 billion tons of garbage produced each year.
The majority of this garbage ends up in incinerators or landfills. But what happens when the dumpsters become full? Where does all that rubbish go?Well, most of it gets shipped out of the country. It is then dumped in other countries, where it pollutes their ecosystems. But now, thanks to the work of one man, we know exactly where all this trash goes. Mike Sexton is his real name. He runs a company called Waste Watchers. He spends his days watching the movements of trucks transporting trash across North America. He reports back to us about the next steps.
Sexton said he enjoys his job. CNN asked Sexton if he thought it was a lot of fun. "We'll be following these big rigs through town. "Sexton started following truck driver almost 20 years back.
He said, "I fell in love with it."
He loved the story of the driver who pulled into an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove along the road and saw this structure. So he pulled over and went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. "The man looked around the area and decided to unload all of it. There were lots of old tires, rags furniture, mattresses, mattresses, cans, cans, and other items. "It was just total chaos. But it was cleaned out before he came. There was no trash."
Why did this happen? It is because the location used to belong to a recycling centre. People who found out about this facility would drive to it to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that they would bring household items and take them to the building. Then, after they were done, they would empty the containers.
You might see this happen hundreds of times a day. The truck can be stopped running if it is so full of junk that it has to come back hundreds of times per week. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.
Trash isn’t the only problem we face on the planet.
The majority of these particles are made of small pieces of plastic. Others end up in rivers, oceans or the stomachss of fish.
Experts warn that if there is no change, the world could soon be facing a food shortage. "If we keep going like we're going, we're not going to make it," one expert warned. But even though scientists agree that the world is headed toward disaster, most people don't seem worried.
What is the most surprising fact about your body?
Two eyes, two ears and two nostrils are part of our bodies. We also have four limbs: a mouth, nose, penis, and four limbs. It's true, we have more 50 parts of our body, but there is one thing missing. A heart.
The heart is a pump that circulates blood throughout your body. The blood travels through the veins and arteries, transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells. It also removes carbon dioxide.
The heart pumps out about 5 liters per minute. This is equivalent of an adult drinking 2 to 3 cups of coffee each day.
Blood flows throughout the heart 24 hours per day, 365 Days a Year. Your heart beats nearly 100 times a minute while sleeping.
Color of your skin is a good indicator of whether someone is healthy. Looking closely at the skin's surface, you can see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These small vessels carry blood away from the large blood vessels in the skin back to the heart. If blood flow is blocked, skin can turn blue or purple.
People with sickle cells lack red blood cell. Their blood becomes very sticky and hardened, leading to serious illness.
To stop bleeding from a cut, you can apply a bandage to the wound. For wounds to heal properly, blood must flow. To do this, doctors will insert a needle through your skin into the vein adjacent to the injury. This allows blood drainage from the injury area.
The doctor may also insert catheters (catheters), into the artery at the site of the blood clot. This keeps the patient alive till the blood clot dissolves naturally.
