The Scary Things About the Ocean

creepy things to think about

The ocean is a completely new world to you than the one that you're used to. You might be frightened by some of the undersea areas. Many different species of animals and plants live in the ocean.

Giant squid

Giant squids can be described as giant animals with large, five-foot-wide eyes and tentacles twice their body size. Scientists have not seen giant squids eat, but they may be eating fish or other squids deep in the ocean.

Octopuses

While we can't actually see octopuses in the ocean, we can see their webs. These webs contain pigmented chromatophores. Scientists do not know the exact function of these chromatophores, but they could have been passed on from their ancestors. The only visible parts are the eyes, optic neuro, and digestive tract.

Octopuses eat dead bodies

Octopuses, besides their slimy bodies and ability to imitate other ocean animals, are also well-known. They have been observed imitating flatfish, sea snakes, and flatfish in an attempt to avoid predators. These creatures aren't dangerous to humans, but they are still at risk from habitat loss, overfishing, and climate change.

FAQ

How does the brain regulate the functions of the body?

The brain relays messages to other parts of the body to ensure their functionality. The brain controls everything that happens in your body. It tells your stomach how to digest food and your lungs how to inhale oxygen; it also tells your arms, legs and feet to move.

Your brain is made up billions of nerve cell networks connected in groups known as neurons. Action potentials are electrical signals that neurons send to one another. Each neuron has its own cell membrane around its nucleus. The cell membrane houses channels that allow ions, such as potassium and sodium, to enter and exit the cells. Ion movement creates the electric charge that causes the neuron to fire.

When a neuron fires, chemicals called neurotransmitters are released into the space between the neuron and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters bind with receptors on the second nerve cell, opening ion channel channels to allow ions in and out. As a result, the second neuron fires too.

Neurotransmitter release occurs when the presynaptic neuron receives an impulse from another neuron. The impulse travels along an synapse between the neurons. The transmitter binds to the receptors on the postsynaptic neural cell, which triggers the firing of that neuron.

Neurotransmitters are important for communication within the nervous system. They coordinate activity between the different parts of your brain.

Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?

The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!

The majority of this garbage ends up in incinerators or landfills. But what happens when the dumpsters become full? All that trash ends up being shipped out of country. The trash is then sent out of the country and dumped in countries where it pollutes ecosystems. But, one man has now discovered exactly where this rubbish goes. Mike Sexton is his real name. He is the owner of Waste Watchers. His job involves monitoring the movements and routes of trash trucks across North America. He then gives us a report on what happens next.

Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. CNN's Sexton said, "We have a lot to enjoy." "We see these big trucks coming through town, so we'll keep following them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.

"I just fell in love with it," he said.

His favorite story involved a driver who pulled off at an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton described, "The guy was looking somewhere to put his load." "He saw the building as he drove down the road. So he pulled over and went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. The man got everything out of the truck and began filling it up again. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were old tires and rags, furniture pieces, mattresses, mattresses and boxes. "It was a complete mess. It had been cleaned up before he arrived. There wasn't any trash."

Why did this happen? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. "They'd bring their household items and take them to this building," Sexton explained. And after they finished, they would leave the empty containers behind.

Now, because of the way the law works, once a container reaches its destination, it cannot be opened. So no matter how often someone takes something out of it, the thing will never be emptied.Every time the truck comes by, it has to start over again. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. The owner eventually abandons the vehicle.

Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.

Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Others get washed into rivers or oceans. And when they reach the ocean, they often end up in the stomachs of fish.

Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. Experts warn that if we continue to go the same way, we won't make it. However, scientists and most people aren't worried.

What is the most interesting fact about the human body?

We have two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, four limbs, a mouth, a nose, and a penis. It's true, we have more 50 parts of our body, but there is one thing missing. The heart.

The heart is a pump that circulates blood throughout your body. The blood moves through the arteries and veins to transport oxygen and nutrients into the cells, and remove carbon dioxide.

The heart pumps out about 5 liters per minute. This is equivalent to a person drinking 2-3 cups coffee daily.

Blood flows through the heart 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your heart beats nearly 100 times a minute while sleeping.

Because of the color and texture of their skin, you can tell if someone is healthy or sick. Looking closely at the skin's surface, you can see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These small vessels carry blood from the large blood vessel in the skin back towards the heart. The skin turns blue or violet when blood flow becomes blocked.

People with sickle cells lack red blood cell. They become very sick when their blood becomes hardened and sticky.

If you cut yourself, a bandage is applied to stop the bleeding. For wounds to heal properly, blood must flow. Doctors will insert a needle under the skin to access the vein near the injury. This allows the blood to drain from the injured area.

Doctors can also insert catheters into the artery close to the area where the bloodclot has formed. This keeps the patient alive till the blood clot dissolves naturally.

What is the most secretive location in the entire world?

This question might surprise you. You might be uncomfortable with the truth of it, as it may challenge your perception of reality. However, there's a reason for this place to exist. It's not what we would expect.

It was called the City of God by ancient Greeks. It was also called the City of Destruction in the Bible.

It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). In Russia, it's called Novgorod.

Here in America, however, it is called The Village That Disappeared.

One small community in western New York State with 1,200 residents vanished without a trace. There were no bodies, cars or houses left behind, but a road sign that pointed to the former location was all that was left.

This tiny community disappeared without leaving any clues as to where it went or when. Some believe it was swallowed by the earth. Others claim a meteorite strike destroyed it. Some believe that it was taken by aliens.

Whatever happened, the residents of this once-thriving community are convinced that their town isn't gone forever. They just moved to another city.

There is even a website dedicated to tracking the disappearance of the lost city of Zugspitz.

So, where exactly did this town go? It's in Switzerland.

Zugspitze is located on the border between Germany and Austria. The lake Lake Zugspitze is just beyond the mountain's summit.

It has always fascinated my that so many towns have disappeared but others still exist. Is it possible that some towns disappear and others are preserved? I decided to investigate.

I was curious about the disappearing towns. Is it possible for a place to vanish? How can one place become extinct?

It turned out that there are many theories about disappearing towns. One theory states that a town vanishes when all its buildings are destroyed. Another theory says that the town just moves. A third theory states that the town didn't exist at all.

Although theories may be a bit speculative, it is a fact that numerous towns have been destroyed by the elements. This video examines the past and present status of these areas.
