I was interested in learning more about these mysterious towns that are disappearing. What causes a town to disappear? What makes a place disappear?
There are several theories behind the disappearing of towns. One theory says that a town disappears when all the buildings are demolished. Another theory states that the town simply moves to another location. The third theory is that the town was never actually there.

He owns a company called Waste Watchers. He spends his time watching trucks hauling trash around North America. Then he reports back to us about what happens next.
Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "We often see large rigs passing through our town and we will follow them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.
"I just fell in love with it," he said.
His favorite story involved a driver who pulled off at an abandoned gas station near Los Angeles. Sexton recalls, "The guy was searching for somewhere to put his loads." "He saw the building as he drove down the road. He backed up and entered the building. "There were two huge roll-off containers there filled with stuff. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. "Then, he took everything out and started filling up the truck again. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. "It was just total chaos. But it had been cleaned before he arrived. There wasn’t trash everywhere."
This begs the question: Why? This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that people would bring home their household items, and then take them to the building. After they were done, they would dispose of the empty containers.

Others cautioned that this theory sounds too science fiction.
