FAQ
Ever wonder how much trash gets produced each day around the world?
The United Nations states that an average person produces more than 2.5 pounds of waste per day. That's over 25 billion pounds of garbage each year!
Many of this trash ends in landfill dumps, or incinerators. But what happens if those dumpsters are full? Where does all that rubbish go?Well, most of it gets shipped out of the country. The trash is then sent out of the country and dumped in countries where it pollutes ecosystems. But, one man has now discovered exactly where this rubbish goes. Mike Sexton is his real name. He is the founder of Waste Watchers. He watches over trucks that transport trash across North America. Then he reports back to us about what happens next.
Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. CNN's Sexton said, "We have a lot to enjoy." "We'll be following these big rigs through town. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.
"I just fell in love with it," he said.
Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. Sexton recalls, "The guy was searching for somewhere to put his loads." "He drove along the road and saw this structure. So he pulled over and went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. He took out everything and began to fill up the truck. He then looked around and decided to load everything. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. It was a complete mess. But it was cleaned out before he came. There was not a single piece of trash.
This begs the question: Why? This particular spot used to be a recycling center. People would drive there to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that people would bring home their household items, and then take them to the building. After they were done, they would dispose of the empty containers.
This can happen hundreds of times a week. This could happen hundreds times per week. Finally, the truck stops running completely due to its excessive junk. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.
Trash, however, isn't the only problem facing our planet. As you may have noticed, things are getting worse.According to experts, pollution levels have risen dramatically in recent years.More than half of all water bodies on Earth are polluted.Pollution from industrial chemicals has increased by more than 30 percent since 1980.Even the air we breathe is becoming increasingly toxic.A study by the World Health Organization found that the average person inhales around 100 million particles daily.
Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Some are washed into rivers and oceans. Others end up with fish in their stomachs.
Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. One expert said, "If we keep going as we are going, we're never going to make it," but most people don’t seem concerned.
What is the most surprising fact about your body?
Two eyes, two ears, 2 nostrils, 4 limbs, 1 nose, 1 penis and one mouth are all there. We have over 50 parts of our bodies. However, one thing is missing. A heart.
A heart is the pump that circulates blood throughout a body. The blood travels through the veins and arteries, transporting oxygen and nutrients to cells. It also removes carbon dioxide.
The heart pumps out approximately 5 liters of blood per minute. This is equivalent of an adult drinking 2 to 3 cups of coffee each day.
The blood flows throughout the heart 24/7, 365 days a calendar. While sleeping, your heart beats close to 100 times per minute.
You can tell whether someone is healthy or unhealthy because of the color of their skin. If you examine the skin closely, you will see tiny blood vessels called capillaries. These small vessels carry blood from the large blood vessel in the skin back towards the heart. The skin turns blue or violet when blood flow becomes blocked.
Red blood cells are missing in people with sickle-cell disease. They become very sick when their blood becomes hardened and sticky.
You can use a bandage to stop bleeding if your cut is severe. For wounds to heal properly, blood must flow. Doctors insert a needle into the injured area through the skin. This allows blood drainage from the injury area.
Doctors also insert tubes (catheters) into the artery near the site where the blood clot forms. This keeps patients alive until the clot has broken up naturally.
What is the most mysterious area on earth?
Antarctica is one of the most mysterious places on Earth.
Why is this place so amazing? Because it is unlike any other spot on Earth.
It is difficult to access because it is remote and extremely isolated. There is much more to this place than meets the eyes.
This natural wonder is also home to some of the strangest wildlife species.
Let's now see how this amazing destination came to be so well-known for its mystery.
Antarctica: The South Pole
Antarctica is not known by anyone. Some say it means "land on ice." Others believe it derives from Greek mythology.
Antarktis in ancient Greece was the name given the island where Zeus' twin brother brothers were born. One of the twins was said to have been born in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.
Others believe that the name is a combination of the Greek words anti and tropos which mean against and turn. This would be land turned away form the sun.
Whatever the reason, Antarctica has always held a special fascination for people.
It is the driest, windiest of all continents. Because it is too frigid, there are no trees, animals, or plants.
And yet, this frozen wasteland is teeming with life.
Here, 90 percent live of all species of living things. You can find approximately half the world's species of animal and plant plants here.
What is the secret to Antarctica's unique environment? Here, water freezes into ice instead of evaporating into the air.
This causes large amounts of ice to float above ground.
These floating glaciers cover 80% of the continent. And they're growing larger every year.
The Antarctic Ice Sheet has grown 60 feet in the past 60 years.
The sea level will rise up to 200 feet if melting continues. This could lead to widespread flooding.
This does not mean that everyone is wrong. Some scientists believe that global warming can be beneficial. They claim that the melting of ice sheets could accelerate as temperatures rise. This would lead to flooding that removes tons of toxic chemicals and soil from our bodies.
Others cautioned that this theory sounds too science fiction.
Is there a Hollywood blacklist of actors?
There is a Hollywood blacklist.
The list is not made public. According to our knowledge, the names of these people aren't known. But, here's why it matters.
The secret is because the directors and actors on blacklist wouldn't have any job opportunities. Thus, they would leave the industry and studios will lose money. They would also cut back on their spending on movies. That would reduce the opportunities for blacklisted filmmakers. This would make them bankrupt.
Which could ultimately result in more victims.
If someone attempts to make an Oscar-winning movie, they may be asked to sign a contract stating that they will not speak out against their employers. For any producer or director that wants to be nominated, the same applies.
You hear stories of directors being pressured to remove scenes from films. Directors might threaten to leave projects that don't reflect their vision.
This is why Hollywood has a blacklist. If you speak negatively about your employer, you will likely be fired. This is bad news for anyone.
Many people have been wrongly accused. They've had the toil to clear their name.
We must stop this from happening again. Everyone should have the right to speak freely.
We must get rid of the Hollywood blacklist.
