disturbing facts about the world

There are many facts to know about the White House. For example, it's made of gray-colored sandstone from a Virginia quarry. It was rebuilt after a wartime fire, and is now a National Heritage Site. It is also said to be haunted.

It was rebuilt in 1812 after it was damaged by a fire.

The White House was burned by British troops on August 24, 1814. This was in revenge for the American attack that took place in York on June 1813. The Capitol Building was also torched by the British army. It left Washington's capital defenseless. After eating leftover food from the scullery, the British soldiers ransacked the mansion and set it ablaze. The fire destroyed most of its interior and left only the stone walls.

FAQ

Did you know that there are approximately 1.6 billion metric tons of trash produced every day in the world?

According to the United Nations there are more than 25 billion tons of garbage produced each year.

Most of the trash ends up at incinerators and landfills. But, what happens to those dumpsters? It goes to the United States, where most of it is exported. The rest is dumped abroad, where it pollutes other ecosystems. Now, we know the exact location of all this garbage. Mike Sexton is his nickname. He runs Waste Watchers, a company that monitors the movements of trucks carrying trash all across North America. He then reports back about what happens next.

Sexton states that he finds his work very fulfilling. CNN spoke with Sexton that they have a lot fun. "You know, we see these big rigs come through town, and we'll follow them. "Sexton started following truck drivers nearly 20 years ago.

He stated that he fell in love with the product.

Sexton loved the story about the driver who pulled over at an abandoned gas station close to Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He saw the building as he drove down the road. He stopped and pulled up, then he went inside. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. The guy took everything out and started filling up the truck again. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. "It was just an absolute mess. But it had been cleared out before he arrived. There was not a single piece of trash.

So why did this happen? The answer is that this location was once part of a recycling facility. People who knew about it would drive to this location to recycle their garbage. Sexton said that people would bring their household items to the building and then leave empty containers behind.

Now, because of the way the law works, once a container reaches its destination, it cannot be opened. So no matter how often someone takes something out of it, the thing will never be emptied.Every time the truck comes by, it has to start over again. It could happen hundreds of thousands of times a week. The truck eventually stops running because it has become so jammed with junk. And eventually, the owner decides to abandon the vehicle.

However, trash is not the only problem on our planet.

Most of these particles are made up of tiny pieces of plastic. Some of these plastics end up in landfills or incinerators. Some are washed into rivers and oceans. Others end up with fish in their stomachs.

Experts warn of a possible global food crisis if nothing is done. "If we keep going like we're going, we're not going to make it," one expert warned. But even though scientists agree that the world is headed toward disaster, most people don't seem worried.

How does the brain regulate the functions of the body?

The brain relays messages to other parts of the body to ensure their functionality. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells the stomach to digest food, and the lungs to breath air. It also tells your legs and arms to move.

Your brain consists of billions of nerve cells connected in groups called neurons. Neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals called action potentials on axons. Each neuron has its own cell membrane around its nucleus. Channels within the membrane allow ions such potassium and sodium to enter and leave the cells. The electric charge that causes the neuron's fire is created by ion movement.

Neurotransmitters are chemicals released when a neuron fires. Neurotransmitters attach to the receptors of the second neuron and open ions channels for ions to pass in and out. The second neuron also fires.

When another neuron sends an impulse to the presynaptic neural cell, neurotransmitter is released. An impulse travels along a synapse that connects the two neurons. The transmitter binds directly to the receptors in the postsynaptic nervous neuron, and triggers the firing.

For communication within the nervous systems, neurotransmitters are essential. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.

Is there an Hollywood blacklist?

There is a Hollywood blacklist.

The list is not made public. As far as we know, the names aren't even known. Here's why this matters.

The secretive nature of the information is due to the fact that actors and directors on blacklist won't be in a position to find work. This would result in studios losing money as the actors and directors would have to go out on their own. This would mean that they would cut back on movie production. That would reduce the opportunities for blacklisted filmmakers. Which would lead them to go bankrupt.

This could lead to more victims.

When someone tries making an Oscar winning movie they might be asked for a contract. This means that they can't publicly criticize their employer. The same goes for any director or producer who wants to get nominated for an award.

This is why you'll hear about directors being pressured by producers to take scenes out of their films. Or how directors threaten to walk away from projects that don't fit their vision.

This is why Hollywood keeps a blacklist. Negative comments about your employer will most likely lead to you being unemployed. And that's not good for anyone.

Problem is, many people have been falsely charged. It's been a struggle to get their names cleared.

This is unacceptable behavior and must be stopped. We must ensure that everyone has the right to express themselves freely.

Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the Hollywood blacklist.

How To

Hollywood scandals that shocked the globe

It's shocking to see someone make a name for themselves. But, it's equally shocking to watch them fall from the graces.

The best part is seeing how an industry reacts to its mistakes. There are many stories about celebrities who drank excessively. Some even died young because of it.

The worst part about this is that these same stars come out with their problems and are ridiculed by everyone. We were there last week.

Heath Ledger, after a long and successful professional career, finally gave in to his demons. He succumbed after taking too many prescription medications. After a brief struggle with death, he died.

His friends and family struggled to accept the loss of his son, while the media blasted him openly.

Heath was once regarded as one of the best actors today. Two Academy Awards nominations went to Heath for his performance on Brokeback Mountain.

Heath was not only an actor, but also directed and wrote films like A Knight's Tale and Monster's Ball.

Hollywood loved Heath. However, he quickly grew too large. He started to use drugs and drink heavily. He ended up in rehab and became clean.

He was now sober and wanted to make amends. He produced a documentary called Room 237 that documented the making process of The Shining. It was supposed that it would be released this year but it won't make its debut in theaters until next.

Heath attempted to get into Hollywood every time. In fact, he was arrested twice on drug charges.

We're not saying Heath should have been allowed back into show business. But it would have been nice to get some help before things spiralled out of control.

We hope Heath’s story can be an example to other people who believe they can still have it all.
