He is the founder of Waste Watchers. He watches over trucks that transport trash across North America. He then gives us a report on what happens next.
Sexton says he finds his job very satisfying. CNN interviewed Sexton and said that he has a lot of fun. "We see big rigs coming through town and we'll follow them. "Sexton began following truck drivers almost 20 years ago.
"It's all I felt," he stated.
Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. "The guy was looking for someplace to put his load," Sexton recalled. "He drove down the road to see this building. He backed up and entered the building. "There were two enormous roll-off containers filled with stuff. The man took all the stuff out and filled up his truck with more. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. It was a complete mess. But it had been cleaned before he arrived. There wasn't any trash."
Why did this happen? It is because the location used to belong to a recycling centre. People who found out about this facility would drive to it to recycle their trash. Sexton explained that they would bring household items and take them to the building. Then, after they were done, they would empty the containers.
You might see this happen hundreds of times a day. It can happen hundreds of time per week. Eventually, the truck is so full of junk it stops running. The truck eventually stops running and the owner decides that it is time to get rid of the vehicle.
Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.
