FAQ

What is the most secretive location in the entire world?

It may surprise you to hear the answer. You might be uncomfortable with the truth of it, as it may challenge your perception of reality. But there is a reason why this place exists. And it is not what you would expect.

The City of God was its name by the ancient Greeks. In the Bible, it was known as the City of Destruction.

It is also called Kashi in India (Kashmir). It's known in Russia as Novgorod.

Here in America, however, it is called The Village That Disappeared.

One small New York State town with just 1,200 people vanished. A road sign pointing to the former location of the town was all that was left, except for a few bodies and cars.

The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some say it was swallowed up by the Earth. Some claim it was destroyed by a meteorite impact. Others believe that aliens took it.

The residents of this once prosperous community believe that whatever happened, their town is not gone forever. They had just relocated to another town.

Even a website exists to help track down the disappearances of the lost city Zugspitz.

So where is this town? It's in Switzerland.

Zugspitze is situated on the border between Germany und Austria. Lake Zugspitze can be found just beyond the summit.

It's always fascinated me how so many towns disappear, yet others remain. Why is it that some disappear while others live on? I decided to investigate.

I wanted to know more about the mysterious disappearing towns. What causes a town to disappear? How can one place vanish from existence?

There are many theories regarding the phenomenon of towns disappearing. One theory holds that a town disappears if all its buildings are demolished. Another theory states that the town simply moves to another location. A third theory holds that the town did not exist.

No matter what theories you may have, there is no doubt that many towns across the globe were swallowed by the ground. This video explores the history of these towns and examines their current state.

How does your brain control your body's functions?

The brain relays messages to other parts of the body to ensure their functionality. Everything in your body is controlled and managed by your brain. It tells your stomach how to digest food and your lungs how to inhale oxygen; it also tells your arms, legs and feet to move.

Your brain is composed of billions and billions nerve cells, connected in groups called neurons. Neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals called action potentials on axons. Each neuron has its own cell membrane around its nucleus. The membrane contains channels that allow ions like sodium and potassium to enter the cell and leave it. The neuron fires when there is ion movement.

When a neuron fires, chemicals called neurotransmitters are released into the space between the neuron and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters can bind to receptors at the second neuron. They open ions channels, allowing ions to move in and outside of the channel. In turn, the second neuron also fires.

Neurotransmitter production occurs when a neuron in the presynaptic receives an impulsive signal from another. The impulse travels along the synaptic pathway that connects both neurons. The transmitter binds to the receptors on the postsynaptic neural cell, which triggers the firing of that neuron.

The nervous system relies on neurotransmitters for communication. They also coordinate activity between different brain parts.

Do you wonder how much trash is produced each day across the globe?

According to the United Nations, the average person produces over 2.5 pounds of daily waste. That adds up to over 25 billion pounds of garbage per year!

Many of this trash ends in landfill dumps, or incinerators. But what happens if those dumpsters are full? Most of that trash is shipped out of the country. It is then shipped out and dumped in other countries. This pollutes the ecosystems. But now we know, thanks to one man. His name is Mike Sexton. He runs a company called Waste Watchers. He spends his days watching the movements of trucks transporting trash across North America. He then gives us a report on what happens next.

Sexton said he enjoys his job. CNN asked Sexton if he thought it was a lot of fun. "We see big rigs coming through town and we'll follow them. "Sexton started following truck driver almost 20 years back.

"It's all I felt," he stated.

Sexton's favorite story was about a driver who stopped at an abandoned gas station in Los Angeles. Sexton remembered, "The man was looking for somewhere to put the load." "He drove down the road and saw this building. So he backed up and went inside. "There was a pair of large, full-sized roll-off boxes. The man removed everything from the truck and started to load it again. "Then he took out everything and began to fill up the truck. There were tires, rags. furniture, mattresses. boxes, bottles, cans. "It was just a total mess. But it was cleaned out before he came. There wasn’t trash everywhere."

What is the explanation? It's because this area used to be a recycle center. People would drive from all over the country to recycle their trash. Sexton said that people would bring their household items to the building and then leave empty containers behind.

This could happen hundreds of time per week. This can happen hundreds of times a week.Eventually, the truck becomes so overloaded with junk that it stops running. The owner eventually decides to dump the truck.

Trash is not the only problem our planet faces.

The majority of these particles are made of small pieces of plastic. Others get washed into rivers or oceans. And when they reach the ocean, they often end up in the stomachs of fish.

Experts warn that if there is no change, the world could soon be facing a food shortage. Experts warn that "if we keep going the way we are, we're not going make it," although scientists agree that the world is heading toward disaster. Most people, however, don't seem to be concerned.
