FAQ

What is the most secretive place in the world, and why?

The answer to that question may shock you. It may even make it uncomfortable, as it challenges our perceptions of reality and our lives. But there is a reason why this place exists. And it is not what you would expect.

The ancient Greeks called it the City of God. According to the Bible, it was called the City of Destruction.

It's known in India as Kashi (Kashmir). It's also known as Novgorod in Russia.

Here in America, however, it is called The Village That Disappeared.

A small community of 1200 people in western New York State vanished. It was abandoned without any remains, including no bodies, cars, or houses. The only thing that survived was a road sign, which pointed to its former location.

The little village vanished, with no trace of its existence. Some claim the earth swallowed it. Some claim it was destroyed by a meteorite impact. Some claim that it was destroyed by a meteorite strike. Others still believe it was stolen away by aliens.

Whatever happened, the residents of this once-thriving community are convinced that their town isn't gone forever. They just moved to another city.

There is even a website dedicated to tracking the disappearance of the lost city of Zugspitz.

You might be wondering where this town went. Well, it's in Switzerland!

The border of Austria and Germany is at Zugspitze. Just beyond the summit of the mountain is a huge lake called Lake Zugspitze.

It's always fascinated me how so many towns disappear, yet others remain. Is it possible that some towns disappear and others are preserved? I decided that I would investigate.

I was curious about the disappearing towns. What makes a town disappear? How can one place become extinct?

There are many theories to explain the phenomenon of disappearing towns. One theory says that a town disappears when all the buildings are demolished. Another theory is that the town moves to another place. The third theory is that the town was never actually there.

The fact is that hundreds of towns all over the world have been swept away by the ground, despite theories to the contrary. This video looks into the history of those places and investigates their current status.

How does the brain control the functions in your body?

To ensure that they work together, messages are sent by the brain to other organs. Your body's functions are controlled by your brain. It tells you your stomach to digest food; your lungs to inhale air; and it tells you your arms and legs how to move.

Your brain is made of billions, or neurons, of nerve cells. Neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals called action potentials on axons. Every neuron has a cell wall around its nucleus. The cell membrane houses channels that allow ions, such as potassium and sodium, to enter and exit the cells. Ion movement is what causes the neurons to fire.

When a neuron is activated, neurotransmitters release chemicals into the space between it and the next neuron. Neurotransmitters attach to the receptors of the second neuron and open ions channels for ions to pass in and out. As a result, second neuron fires as well.

When a presynaptic nerve receives an impulse, neurotransmitter release takes place. An impulse travels along a synapse that connects the two neurons. The transmitter binds to receptors on the postsynaptic neuron, triggering the firing of the postsynaptic neuron.

For communication within the nervous systems, neurotransmitters are essential. They also help coordinate activity between different parts of the brain.

What is one of the most amazing facts about the human body

We have two eyes and two ears, two nostrils each, four limbs, four limbs and a penis. That's right, we have more than 50 parts of our bodies, but one thing is missing. A heart.

The heart is a pump that circulates blood throughout your body. The blood flows through the veins and arteries to carry oxygen and nutrients to the cells.

Each minute, the heart pumps approximately 5 liters. This is equivalent in daily coffee consumption to an adult who consumes approximately 2 to 3 cups.

The heart is constantly pumping blood, 24 hours a week, 365 day a year. While you sleep, your heart beats almost 100 times per minute.

Skin color can be used to determine if someone has a medical condition. The capillaries are tiny blood vessels that can be seen on the skin's surface. These vessels carry blood away to the heart via the large blood vessels. If blood flow is blocked, skin can turn blue or purple.

People with sickle cells lack red blood cell. Their blood becomes extremely sticky and hardened, which can lead to very serious illnesses.

If you cut yourself, a bandage is applied to stop the bleeding. Blood must continue to flow to allow the wounds to heal properly. Doctors place a needle in the wound and insert it through the skin. This allows the blood to drain from the injured area.

A doctor can also insert tubes (catheters), into an artery in the vicinity of where blood clots form. This keeps the patient alive till the blood clot dissolves naturally.

Is there a more mysterious place than the Earth itself?

Antarctica is home to the most mysterious and remote place on Earth.

We find this place so fascinating. Because it's unlike any other place in the world.

It is difficult to access because it is remote and extremely isolated. However, there's more to this location than meets the eye.

This natural wonder is also home to some of the strangest wildlife species.

Let's look at how this extraordinary destination became so mysterious.

Antarctica: The South Pole

Antarctica is not known by anyone. Others believe it means "land with ice". Others think it comes from Greek mythology.

Antarktis, the Greek name for the island on which Zeus' twin brothers were conceived, was used in ancient Greece. According to some legends, one of these twins was born in winter. Thus, the term antarctic.

Others believe the name was derived from the Greek words tropos, which means turn, and anti, meaning against. This would mean land turned away from the sun.

Whatever the reason, Antarctica has always held a special fascination for people.

It is also the lowest, windiest continent, driest, and highest. Because it is too frigid, there are no trees, animals, or plants.

And yet, this frozen wasteland is teeming with life.

It houses approximately 90% of all Earth's living organisms. Here are approximately 50% of all the animal and plant species in the world.

What makes Antarctica so special? Here, water freezes in ice rather that vaporizing into the atmosphere.

This causes large amounts of ice to float above ground.

These glaciers cover more than 80% of the continent. They continue to grow in size each year.

So far, the Antarctic ice sheet has grown 60 feet since 1960.

The sea level could rise to 200 feet if the melting continues. This could lead to massive flooding across the globe.

This is not necessarily bad news. Some scientists believe that global warming can be beneficial. They claim that the melting of ice sheets could accelerate as temperatures rise. This would lead to flooding that removes tons of toxic chemicals and soil from our bodies.

However, others caution that this theory sounds a lot like a plot in a science fiction movie.
